Welcome aboard Catriona

I'm in a really weird mood today, I woke up to a message from a friend who I've known a few months asking if I was annoyed because they're happy now?!?!?! What the...
I sent a message back hoping it would go away, but it's been returned with an even needier message. I don't really know them that well, I certainly don't remember sleeping with them, and it's all just a bit weird. I'm putting off replying because it's so weird.
OH went for a job interview today and it seems to have gone pretty well, fingers crossed he gets it as we have £7.5k of his debt to kill when he graduates!!!Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

They have the right Kerrie right? My friend dated a guy with the same name as her now OH (same strange spelling). She still has her ex's number and kept accidentily texting him (a few near miss "miss you's" and "love you's").
Ordered my laptop, and my bank fraud department phoned me shortly after. The transaction was declined, and my card has now been blocked as a 'preventative method'.0 -
Oh sorry, what I should have put was that I was neither annoyed with her, nor had I noticed she was happier now. I have absolutely nothing against people being happyDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Given that you accepted a new member yesterday - I wondered if you could let me have a go at the challenge too?
I badly need motivation, as - despite best intentions - I often stray and whip out the credit card!
I have a debt which is an amalgamation of buying and doing up my house and reckless spending on bits and pieces - from ridiculous food shops to ever more ridiculous clothes shops!;)
I've been in debt since 2011, and have not dug myself out, though it was manageable. In fact, I've acquired a couple more grand of debt!
I know I need to stop and take stock and change my habits. Have been shopping at Lidl this last month or so, it's convenient too, as it my nearest supermarket. No more Taste the Difference for me until I can afford it!;)
I don't feel comfortable with the debt and don't sleep very well/ feel anxious, so even more reasons to face the music!
My debt at the moment stands at £15.801
Realistically, I will be able to pay it off by end of May 2014. But maybe, if I learn how to eBay and think of making some money on the side - I can bring that forward? Fingers crossed, and no harm trying.
Realistically, though, if I have a good go at it, I should clear £10k by Xmas 2013. Wahoo!!!
So - can I be one of you please???

Today I paid off the remaining £5,030 of a Santander loan, leaving me with one loan and a small credit card balance. This allowed me to work out my eagerly-awaited accurate starting figure, which I can put at... der der deeeerrrrr...

In all reality, I've probably paid off about £2k this year so far, but I'm not sure what the balance was at the start so this will have to do. Here goes... :T
Can I just check are you declaring £0 / £10619 or shall I put you down for £2k paid off? Well done either way

Very odd...did she think she had sent you a message before that didn't send but she thinks you've ignored it perhaps?DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
I had a look on the n00dle thing you have all been talking about and my rating is 1/5 which is not suprising as I went in to an IVA in 2008 that was completed in 2010. I am pleased to see it actually says completed on my credit file as I thought I would have to faff about getting it updated. Everything else is as it should be as I only have 2 spotless mortgages a spotless current account and err 2 huge and 1 small default:rotfl:
Pay day tomorrow and I am going to make my first mortgage overpayment and transfer the £1000 already counted in this challenge to the mortgage too. From looking at the website I think I have to ring them or they won't take my normal DD out too and I want all my payments to count.
I have planned all my budgets for this month but having put DH on slim world the last 2 weeks I can see that my food budget is going to be battered for the foreseeable future. DH also needs work shoes, I am going to get some hot water bottles and no doubt DS will get something too when we go into the town after the theatre on Saturday morning. We are off to see the gruffalo. I hope DS likes it, he is not quite 3:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
She said she'd looked back over comments and conversations we'd had. What it boils down to is we were both having some banter, and she then decided I was being too aggressive, played the victim, and now I'm apparently annoyed because she's happy?!?!Very odd...did she think she had sent you a message before that didn't send but she thinks you've ignored it perhaps?
Although I think I'm more miffed that she keeps bringing up that she didn't expect the OH to come for lunch on Sunday, in the pub...even though she'd invited 2-3 other people and it was just a casual thing...I think I'm just really weirded out. AND I need chocolate!!!
Only 9 things have bids out of my 44 on fleabay

righto, next "big" payment will be £300 to pay off another debt on 8th march! we will then focus on paying off the next biggest debt on our list (not inc my car) which is around £1100. i estimate 3 months ish to do that one, maybe less if we really.
i actually think i've overestimated the £4400 target by quite a lot! nevermind!0 -
Chucked another £100 at my overdraft today making only £192 left to pay!

Hi all!
As of ten minutes ago I am debt free!!!!
So excited!
I still have to be a good girl this month, but have been paid a fair whack of overtime so bye bye Spanish bank overdraft! For the first time in 17 years I am in the black.
Although I don't really post much, hearing about everyone extraordinary efforts has really helped me to keep going, so a big Thankyou to everyone (esp. Jemma and spagbol) for all your encouraging words.
I have already treated myself to a new Hoover ( exciting I know!) and now we are going to start saving for a new car for my husband, and a new kitchen.
Good luck to you all with your debt busting journeys, I'm sure I'll still be lurking from time to time.
