I'm confused. I keep having a transaction go out of my account for £1. I have no idea what it is but it's annoying!!! I need to find out cos it's happened a few times :s

Amr547, you should check with the bank as it could be fraud...don't want to worry you though.

Thanks :S Going to keep an eye on my online banking see if it says what it is. It doesn't show it on the day it goes out but it does a little bit later.

I would call the bank now. If it is fraud and whoever is taking the money sees that they have been successful, they could clear your account out before your online banking says who it is.

Better to be safe than sorry x

Have you just joined something like Paypal or set up a payment/direct debit as sometimes companies take £1 or a few pence to check if your account is real, it goes back in again.
I've had it before, hope it not fraud though

Am loving the Mexican waves on here, well done.
Also I NEED a guinea pig :p just want to snuggle them lol xx

Just over 10% down :) think I'll be shot of all 'urgent' debts (i.e. those with the big interest rates) before August then it's just mine & husband's overdrafts left to tackle.

Does it reappear in your account after a few days? Sometimes if you order something online (e.g. Mr A's grocery) they take a few pounds to check your card will be accepted then refund it.

    Hello all!

Sorry, I've been absent for so long but work and life has been hectic.

I've been working every other weekend and evenings for the past few weeks during a big promotion. It's now carrying on til September and we couldn't manage a week on, week off on top of our 9 - 5 so we've coerced a couple of others to join us so it's only one weekend/evenings in 4. One of the others is Hubby though so my social life is still pretty much one week on/ one week off:rotfl:

It's bringing in overtime though and I've made 3.5 days extra hols with time in lieu and I'm getting a bonus in next month's pay packet :D

Paid off £950 so far to the CC which should take it under £2000 but will update when the statement arrives (forgot to when it came this month,)

Also managed to top up the savings by £50.

Congrats Fritter princess on becoming debt free -that's amazing!:T

Just got this reply from the bank-

In response to your message [removed], when you pay for something using your Debit Card, some retailers will make a £1 debit from your account. This is to ensure that your account details are correct. The debit will drop off at close of business and full details of the transaction will show when the retailer sends them through. We have no control over individual retailer timescales for completing their transactions.

That makes sense :jphew! that explains why i can never find it again.
