Thank you! Knowing that means I am less likely to feel like a failure! I have a set amount of spending each month as the OH runs the finances like a business so I pay a lump sum every month and whatever is left pays my petrol and clothing, school trips for my daughter etc! I am trying to be more economical with my fuel and not having gingerbread lattes at 'Costa small fortune'. I have also set myself as a target member at 'Slumming World' so have saved £20-£25 this month! But have £35 for school trip to pay and 2 birthdays this month! :( Why does it feel like you are saving one area and then it pours out another! I want to pay off extra but it's not looking likely!
I am loathe to give up my :doh:hobby, Burlesque dancing, it's what I look forward to each week. But should I?

On a plus note I have sold £16 worth of books to Fatbrain, so gonna post these today! I also run a Phoenix Cards business but have put in zero effort, maybe if I can get my backside into gear I can do a bit more on that and raise some extra funds! Stock is low though and I don't want to invest anymore at the moment!

Am going to make use of the free listing on ebay this weekend too I think!

    Oh what to do, lol!

    Good luck all.

How about you set yourself a target for Phoenix that you have to hit in order to do the dancing?
Kerri can you remind me on Monday? My two housemates are from Cardiff, so I will ask them for you, but they're not here this weekend!

I requested my Paypal funds last week, but they've not come yet. How long does it usually take? This is my first withdrawal and I think someone said it can take a month (?) but I can't remember.

Paypal is pretty much instant now, did you request it to your bank account?

Just found £5 on my Nectar card! So now I have £8.20 plus whatever is in my piggy bank as long as I shop at Sainsburys. :D Phew!

I was going to commiserate with your previous post about only having £3 plus piggy bank and say that I am in the same boat most months and I feel your pain so this is very good news :j One thing about being in debt is the level of joy experienced when you find a £1 coin or a £5 voucher is so enhanced it is something that people not in debt wouldn't understand :rotfl::rotfl:

Payday on Monday but money is showing in my account already :j:j

It has been such a long time since I made a payment that I have cheated a bit and paid off some of DH's BC to round up our total to

    #002 £2,000 / £45,000 4.44%

    :j:j

It just means the DD in 8 days is reduced by the payment amount (£42) but it has made me feel a lot better :D

  • Thanks Spag - I tracked down the payout - it had just gone into a different account. It's all accounted for.

Gah, I hate it when I'm due a payment on saturday and the online banking system says no! I'm due to be paid £500 from OH today but my online banking says I'm -£109 because the rent payment has gone out (Monday), even though I should be +£400 :-/

If we can put away around £600 this month and next month then that's DFS paid off. We can totally do it, right?
