  • Hi guys not posted for a few days, well done to you that have managed to clear your debts!!! Seriously hanging my head in shame today just checked my cc statement and am quite disgusted/ freaked out by how quickly I can bump it up. I am conscious this month has been really bad as far as my spending goes need to pull it in quickly. Although fingers crossed the total debt hasn't gone up this month there hasn't been a great deal paid off either. Also freaking out as my second job is coming to ahead by the time I have recovered from my operation I will no longer be employed arrgggh! Good news is I have been asked to go for a promotion so praying to god that I get that although it won't be too big of a pay rise it may cover some of the money that I might lose. I'm ebaying like mad but need to seriously work out postage costs before putting things on as I don't know about anyone else but didn't realise how expensive it is to post stuff now!!!
Anyway seriously need some words of inspiration or encouragement!!!!! :(

Well having spent the majority of the day in tears because yesterday I feel really blue, then OH was drunk and said if he had to keep asking me if I was ok then I'd ruin his night out, so I went home (in tears), woke up without him home (so more tears) and then when he came home even more tears as I explained why I'd been so upset all day....He was drunk so he hadn't meant that I'd ruin his night, but after that girl the other day I was emotionally unstable and tears were bound to happen....anyway, we're having date night with takeaway (naughty!), choc fingers (naughty!), cake (naughty), crisps (naughty!)..... all because we have £150 leftover at the end of the month and only need £40 for travel & food this week....get in!!! Now going to go watch Pirates (well I think that's what it's called) the Aardman film :)

  • Aww Kerri, sorry to hear you had a bad night! At least you're going to have a good one tonight to make up for it!

I'm feeling so blue now after logging into fb to see friends from uni saying what a great catch up they all had today... I knew this is what I was signing up for by moving away for work, but it doesn't make it any easier. It's so miserable and lonely down here... Work doesn't help, as they never do anything social unless it's Christmas, and I like my housemates, but they're either always away at weekends, or want the time to relax. It's too expensive for any of my friends to come visit, and my OH will come visit about once every 1-2 months.

I had a choice of moving away for work or staying on unemployment and hoping a job would turn up. With £7k of debt, it was an easy choice, plus I couldn't risk being unemployed, it just hasn't lived up to my expectations at all...

Sorry for having a moan, I'm just in need of a vent and my OH is out tonight with his friends, while I'm in with the new laptop that keeps giving me the blue screen of death!

Aww sorry MiniCooper :( laptop doesn't sound good, what error messages is it giving you?

Maybe we should have a DFBX13 virtual cocktail party next weekend? If we all bring a virtual plate of nibbles and a bottle we can have a riot :) I'll bring the cheese and pineapple on sticks, with a bottle of homemade lemoncello ;) (I saw how to make it on superscrimpers!)

  • Don't worry about the limoncello - I have some ready made! Very MSE xmas present, and I've got the orange equivalent too! Wouldn't mind trying the scrimpers chocolate vodka though... snacks and booze all in one!

  • Got my number #153...slightly excited by this :j

I aim to pay at least £400 toward my debt this month...any more is a bonus!

I've also looked into reclaiming PPI so will let you all know how that goes!

This frugal living is actually more exciting than spending like maniac :D. However, I am still slightly unhinged lol

Upgraded my phone, or should that be downgraded as I got a 4 instead of a 4s so I got the phone for free and a cheaper tariff than my current one.

Today's first job is to sell mine and DH old iphone. Will order the pack as soon as I see who has the best deal. This money will go into the over payment pot too:)

Only 4 days to wait to see what DH wage is this month. I have tried to work out what I think his basic will be but haven't included his back pay for last month when his promotion came into effect or the monthly bonus he gets and I think his tax code is different because his co car has changed. Fingers crossed it is more than I have calculated so I can overpay some more:D

We have 2 shows we want to see at the Theatre in May and June but at £30 per ticket it will be a big chunk out of the misc and ents. budget those months but I will have to pay it up front. It's a good job the theatre sight uses flash player when buying tickets on line as I use an iPad so you can't use it or I would have bought them and thought about it afterwards:eek::o
