It's early and I'm a bit cross-eyed still but I read my name and the kiss as a rude word not dissimilar to the dogs gonads :rotfl: First slag oil then spagbol!x :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Good to have you over Shrewbie :)

Hi ya all can I be added to the group, I am really wanting to tackle the debts, my lovely man got me an iPad for Xmas but on catalogue I'm hoping that it will be resourceful to me on the go,

I still have to do my budget swap my utility bills, for better service and cheaper...
:p. anyway thank you and can't wait to get sorted 2013 :T

    Hello and welcome clarissa :)
Not paid anything yet for 2013, but am studiously ignoring the sales. I deleted my N*xt VIP sale invitation as soon as it appeared too. Can you see my halo shining? :A

Am at work today (and yesterday too) and battling a horrid tickly sore throat the kids have donated me. Off the weekend, then working NYE then off for a week -yaaay!

Well done with ignoring the sales. I am too but DH needs a chefs knife with our Xmas money and I need some new running shoes so might have a look online soon...

Hi am a bit of a lurker-you all did so well last year. I need some inspiration and motivation to pay off some of my acquired debt. I won't be able to clear it all but would like to reduce it and tidy it up- have just done balance transfer for some of it and some is family debt which I just want to chip away at. This will help me keep track I think.
I have rounded the figures up so may get to adjust them down slightly in the next month as statements come in. Hope that's ok!
Tried to do a fancy sig but all i got was text instead of colours! T'internet not my strong point! (Altho did find myself a rather fab chap so not too rubbish!;))
Total debt is £5065:(:( maybe someone can come along and hold my hand through doing a sig
    thanks x

Hi marmitegirl good to have you on board. Lemonpops explanation above is really good but shout if you still need a hand! :D

Oooo look at you all being super good an ignoring the sales! In this house DH is constantly trying to force me to go look at them as the mummy sale fund is now at £200 and he feels this is an obscene amount of money to hoard especially as I'm happily walking round in the few clothes I bought last sales . . . . Holes n all :rotfl: may invest in a new pair if tesc0 jeans as even I struggle to survive with just 1 pair

  • I'm igmoring the sales too for the second year! (do I get 2 halos?!?! ;)) I can't even allow myself out to the shops for a browse because if I do I either spend or feel down that I can't spend!! Its better for me to pretend they are not happening and do something else instead!!

  • Hi everyone,
I thought I'll introduce myself. I'm a long-time MSE lurker and I've picked up a lot of tips here. I thought I'll delurk to give myself an incentive to pay off my debt asap! My debt at its highest was £22850 (beginning of August this year). I got a loan of £7000 from my parents to pay some of my debt, which means that I've paid off £785 since September. This year I'm hoping to pay off all my credit card debt (£10265).

My aim for January is to get my Amex card below £3000, so this means I have to pay £415 towards it. Have paid £357 so far and I'll cover the rest with PAD of at least £2 a day.

My OH will also contribute throughout the year (he wants us to be debt-free in 13 months time!) but that depends on how much money he brings in (he's self-employed).

Best wishes to all of you for a debt-busting year!

This is just what I need, could I join to do my best to clear £8,000

To get me started, I have begun a DFW diary, ignored all sales adverts and emails (including the Next one), and updated my spreadsheet to see how much we spent on Xmas (£400). Currently enjoying a well earned pyjama day with DS and DH.

I'm in! My figure has actually increased significantly, but it's because me and my partner are now doing this together rather than me just sorting my own life out :)

Our starting figure for 2013 is £6,050 :)
