Thats weird, as I must have a couple of dozen upstairs and the trader I bought them from guaranteed they were indeed real. They may not be legal tender but there are very definitely real pound notes out there
Are you meaning pound notes, or are these like a voucher thing? There are still £1 notes out there, but quite rare these days...
I've been holding off on a big welcome to all the newbies until more had joined! It's nice to see so many joining in, let's make '13 lucky!
I'm going to confess hitting the sales today - I was in our fashion capital of the the North today, and got a bit excited by the added choice with 75% off! 4 new pairs of shoes for <£30, but I'll be taking 2 back tomorrow, and got a new suit jacket, as I'm going to be looking for a new job next year (as in 12 months, not 12 days). All with Christmas money as well, so don't even feel guilty!0 -

Hi everyone,
I thought I'll introduce myself. I'm a long-time MSE lurker and I've picked up a lot of tips here. I thought I'll delurk to give myself an incentive to pay off my debt asap! My debt at its highest was £22850 (beginning of August this year). I got a loan of £7000 from my parents to pay some of my debt, which means that I've paid off £785 since September. This year I'm hoping to pay off all my credit card debt (£10265).
My aim for January is to get my Amex card below £3000, so this means I have to pay £415 towards it. Have paid £357 so far and I'll cover the rest with PAD of at least £2 a day.
My OH will also contribute throughout the year (he wants us to be debt-free in 13 months time!) but that depends on how much money he brings in (he's self-employed).
Best wishes to all of you for a debt-busting year!
Good luck with it all, you've done the best thing coming on this thread, it has honestly been fantastic for me. I have made myself update every day and it really works! This is just what I need, could I join to do my best to clear £8,000
To get me started, I have begun a DFW diary, ignored all sales adverts and emails (including the Next one), and updated my spreadsheet to see how much we spent on Xmas (£400). Currently enjoying a well earned pyjama day with DS and DH.
x
Well done :T post a link to your DF diary and we'll all go and subscribeOkay so good start so far £499/£36000. Lets hope the rest of the year goes so well!
Fantastic payment, well done! I'm super jealous I wish I was off the blocks :jDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

I can't remember what number I was but my figure is £10,715 this year. Started at over £44k many moons ago  so I will get there..
Hi poshbint, my total at the moment is £44k  Well done to getting below £11...How long ago was your LBM?affordmylife wrote: »thank god for that i thought i was going mad x

Well done everyone and welcome to the new peeps.
Got extremely tipsy yesterday with some very good friends which was a lot of fun. Today we are visiting more friends and I'm going to the running shop to get new running shoes for my b'day pressie from DH and the kids. I have been getting a bit of foot pain and my runners are very old so it makes sense to get some more, not buying them would be a false economy if I got injured!
I've just noticed a DD has gone out! I'm out of the blocks!!

Hi everyone!
Could I join in please? I need to get back on the path to being debt free having fallen off when I had DS2 last year!
I'm not certain of the exact figure of how much we owe, but I'd say £15,000 is a fair estimate so I would like to pay off £15,000 by Xmas 2013
I've signed up for the Cancer Research dryathlon (must be mad, how on earth does one get through a day without the promise of a glass of pinot grigio at the end of it???) but I've drunk so much beer and eaten so much food over Xmas my clothes don't fit anymorelol
