    Thanks Spag x
I know I live in the sticks and I'm also a bit thick but GHD's have completely missed my radar (what are they/ is it?) :o

Also J-M I love the idea of a wish list, think I might sit down with hubby and draw one up. Ours will probably include work on our house which will be way down the running order because of the cost  Did you get your mattress topper? That'll be on our list too.

As ruby says, they are hair straighteners, really good ceramic ones. Not much change from £100 though when I bought them

    Are you re-joining ruby?

They are the dogs gonads of hair straightners and come with a price tag to match, hence why ive been moaning about (yet still using) the cheap a*s £30 ones my mum bought me years ago :rotfl:

We got our topper last week out of money I had made selling the phones I won this year :o, it has made such a difference to our sleep we havent got up before 10am since we bought it :rotfl:. We were going to buy a new duvet (as topper was supposed to be £170 but went thorugh till at £119 ) and we were always moaning how cold we were, but since putting it on the bed we have been lovely and toasty so I put the money back in the envelope instead :T.

We have work on the house on ours aswell which includes removing the chimney in our livingroom and bedroom , which of course then opens the whole redecorating box, so is again on the 'need to save a bit' part of the list :) luckily Jakes grandad is a painter and decorator so guess whos been roped in to paper my hallway and one wall in my livingroom (after said chimney is removed ;)) oh and jakes other grandad is a builder so also made noises at him about coming to help remove said chimney :rotfl: in exchange for some very nice home cooked meals of course ;)

  • Hi am a bit of a lurker-you all did so well last year. I need some inspiration and motivation to pay off some of my acquired debt. I won't be able to clear it all but would like to reduce it and tidy it up- have just done balance transfer for some of it and some is family debt which I just want to chip away at. This will help me keep track I think.
I have rounded the figures up so may get to adjust them down slightly in the next month as statements come in. Hope that's ok!
Tried to do a fancy sig but all i got was text instead of colours! T'internet not my strong point! (Altho did find myself a rather fab chap so not too rubbish!;))
Total debt is £5065:(:( maybe someone can come along and hold my hand through doing a sig
    thanks x

They are bloody good - saying that though I got some for xmas a few years ago and my sister keeps giving me grief I don't use them more often - given the choice between straight hair for work or an extra few minutes in bed it's no contest I'm afraid :rotfl:

Aye go on then I think I'd better get back into the habit of posting really - put me down for £5,400 this year, that'll clear off my wedding stuff and hopefully put some extra pennies towards a house deposit although a few things have changed since last time I was posting - DH has been made redundant and I've got a new job (yay!) which is for the exact same money as my current job (but no overtime ) and is further away do there are extra travel costs involved, BUT it will put me in a much better position in a couple of years (fingers crossed!)

Anywho I've been very good and listed some things on ebay (only 4 before I got bored though! :P) and two of them have bids already :D

I'll have a go marmitegirl. Go to User CP on the green banner, and choose Edit Sig down the left hand side. Type in what you want to say, you can then highlight the text that you want to change the font of, or to centre or colour - highlight-go up to the A and the little down arrow and choose your colour. If you want to centre - highlight just the text you want to centre and then go up to the middle block of black after B I U and click on it. You can add smilies etc by clicking on them.
I always 'preview signature' just to make sure everything is ok.
Then click on save signature if you're happy. Just have a little play around.
    Hope that works :)

  • jakes-mum thanks for that! Also, a little tip I picked up is to use an old duvet as a mattress topper (so you sleep between two duvets). Not much good if the springs are trying to get intimate with you, but I did notice the instant difference in temperature! I used to find my bed too cold to sleep in, but now it's fine!
  • Hi ya all can I be added to the group, I am really wanting to tackle the debts, my lovely man got me an iPad for Xmas but on catalogue I'm hoping that it will be resourceful to me on the go,

I still have to do my budget swap my utility bills, for better service and cheaper...
:p. anyway thank you and can't wait to get sorted 2013 :T

  • Not paid anything yet for 2013, but am studiously ignoring the sales. I deleted my N*xt VIP sale invitation as soon as it appeared too. Can you see my halo shining? :A

Am at work today (and yesterday too) and battling a horrid tickly sore throat the kids have donated me. Off the weekend, then working NYE then off for a week -yaaay!
