While I see nothing at all wrong with buying to resell (as we all have to make a living in some way) using manners and basic courtesy should be a must but it appears some people have never heard of them.
    Some people are disgusting.
Hope everyone got what they wanted today, just holding on for my dispatch emails and I will rest happy after going to bed at 3.30am and up at 7 I am a little tired!
And I will do it all again next year.

Sorry. Who took what away from you ?

I think Blackdog meant the old thread "Boots" which was a while ago here on MSE forum for "Bootsers" (experienced and new ones) :). It was closed after some arguments sadly. Many deals, glitches etc were kindly posted and it was great to share them.

If anyone is thinking of going to Lincoln High Street, about 1 1/2 hours ago there was still a pallet full of the Ted Baker boxes opp the escalator, A cage of FCUK bags and about 10 champneys sets, and a shelf full of slippers and scarfs. Everything else was wiped out. Lovely to say I got to store about 7.45am and asked if anyone was a fellow MSE and a few ladies were ( I was the one who didn't stop talking :rotfl:). The whole experience was really civallised no pushing or shoving:)
  • me too ;) can't believe how packed it was in there this year!!
was there much in margate? i was quite dissapointed with the lack of toys & mens gift sets in westwood cross :(

I went to Margate first but could only get there for about 10am and it was pretty decimated by then, with only a handful of shoppers browsing. I managed to get one of the FCUK ladies black holdall bags (couldn't believe that the bags hadn't been security closed - the zips could be opened quite easily). I checked to make sure that all the contents were inside. Very civilised.

Then went to WWX about 12.00ish - still a fair bit there and managed to pick up 2 of the lovely Champneys spa sets at £12.50 each, some luxury crackers and wrapping paper and a Budweiser bucket (for my son's birthday soon). Lots of people looking, but again all very civilised and no pushing or shoving. Loads of slippers and slipper socks - someone made a booboo when they ordered the stock and they weren't selling either! The worst bit was queuing up to pay - as per usual they only had 2 SAs on the tills and the queue was a mile long. Lots of "ordinary" shoppers who had just come in to get their lunch were a bit fed up at the massive queues!

I spent £67 and my receipts say that I saved £192! Very pleased with my items and many thanks to all on this thread who found out when the sale was going to happen.

Are any of you guys who are planning to use the gifts for much later on in the year (like as late as when the next years batch of Boots gifts will be out) worried about the recipient realising/knowing you got this from last years stock and worse realising it's from 50/75% sale? Especially as everyone seems to know Boots gift stock range inside out nowadays or can recognise it a mile off anyway and knows about these sales.

I had my birthday just after Boxing day and ALL my gifts were from Boots half price sale! We had a laugh about it and it was fine because they were literally still being sold in the shops and at half price they still paid out quite a bit. But i'm not sure how someone would feel if they were given something 1 year old. I'm asking as I am planning to do the same thing too with some of my gifts but i'm wary of embarassing myself & them if they realised it was that old & paid very little for them.

My partner and I had this discussion although all my purchases were for us. This was our conclusion: if, for example, someone knew I adored Jamie Oliver (I don't adore him, just an example) and used the 75% off sale to get me some Jamie bits and pieces I would have no issue with it and would be super happy. If someone used the 75% sale to buy me a set of Royal Jelly I would not be happy. It shows no thought - I have never mentioned liking Royal Jelly, primarily because I don't! Plus, all my family and friends know I am super fussy about toiletries because of various skin sensitivities. I would conclude it was just a generic gift bought because it was cheap.

ETA: after seeing the discussion following the OP on this for me it's not about the money but the lack of thought. A fiver on Jamie Oliver goods vs a fiver on Royal Jelly in the above scenario would have me happy about Jamie and not happy about Royal Jelly. Of course, I would never say or show I was unhappy, that would be bad manners.
