Birmingham was very civilised. Went to the Bull Ring and the shelves were packed with sanctuary, champneys, No 7 and dove among other things. between me and my mom we spent £140. I got my sanctuary, mom got her champneys and my sister a no 7, as well as a dove set each, and a few bits for other members of the family. Then laden down we walked up to the main one and most of the shelves were almost clear, but we still managed to spend £70. We didnt spend as much as last year, but as we had bulky boxes we had trouble walking with all the bags ( and we even took our trolley bags), so i had to call my dad to collect us instead of getting the train as we couldnt manage.
We went home for a cuppa and then went to Merry Hill. We had to go to return other stuff so popped into boots - it looked like locusts had wiped the shelves. Managed to get my DD a ferne hatbox from my points but that was almost all they had - apart from cards and wrap and a couple of robot smelly sets.
glad we got what we needed, but also glad we didnt go too over the top as i still have a few items left from last year. Thank god they had the sanctuary as well cus i am low on it all now!
Bit late to get anything now but did they have any of the S&G sets in those stores? Wondering if I could have bought them there!OS Weight Loss Challenge... 3.5/100 -

Birmingham High Street seems to be bringing bits and pieces out all the time. At 7.45am there were no alcohol sets but lunchtime I managed to get a Budweiser set.0

I've only recently found how lovely it is! Does anyone know if s&g is ever on sale in boots throughout the year?
Beware S&G goes off, especially hand cream which goes of quickly, quite over the S&G hype and I know other people on here are too
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

I debated going into the high street Boots today, but it didn't open until 8, and I have to be in work by 8:30 so gave it a miss.
Went to the Boots just outside the town on my lunch break as it is closer to my work and managed to get a no7 handbag, a spa sanctuary facial set, a make up pallette and a umberto Gianni mini set. Happy with my bag. It was pretty quiet and got chatting to a mum next to me in the queue who was happy with her no7 bag for £11.75!
I did try going online this morning but I hate the Boots system. I wish they'd remove out of stock ones once they are as I was scrawling through lots of pages.Former Debt free wannabe. Now trying to save for a rainy day!0 -
Thriftygifty wrote: »Erm.... 99.9% sure that was us with the trolley :embarasse:) he he. We had a plan and a list! I know it looked like alot and I guess it was alot but we have soooooo many people to buy for in our family. In the end I had one trolley full and my mum had another full, once we sorted ourselves out what was on our list and put some stuff back. Doubt it will be chilled like that next year when people cotton on! I didnt think we would get anything! We did make sure that we didnt grab everything so there was lots to go around, but I did need 8 of one item and my mum needed everything in 3's (3 daughters! Me being one who now has lovely birthday and christmas presents coming!)
It probably was  I nearly wrote that you seemed to have a list rather than being an ebayer as I overheard you talking! At one point I was looking at what you had just put back...small world eh! There was lots of most things so it was all good. I was just glad I wasn't behind you at the tills:rotfl: Did you go to the town centre store at all?

Mind you, I did phone a few of the smaller, local boots around my area to check if they had any before attempting to venture out (health isn't at it's best!) I was pleasantly surprised to find a few Shower Trip sets a mere mile from my house - bagged a lift too so it was all very easy and manageable! The store was empty, no 75% signs anywhere. A lone shelf at the back with a few of these sets, the Sanctuary weekend bag, and a few nail polishes. I was quite pleasantly surprised as I saw a 'Perfect Manicure' set too! I was in and out of there within five minutes lol. They still had three left when I left and I'm pretty sure they'll still be there!
Thank you very much to all the lovely people on here, this thread has been quite exciting!OS Weight Loss Challenge... 3.5/100 -
