Hi Chattmum, did you manage to get into the City?? haven't spoken to my friend today to find out latest situation with roads. Took oldest to school for 8.50 as website etc said they were open, got half way up road to be told they were closed!!! got to Lowestoft 9.20 (could've been there for opening) only managed to get an ELC Rosies world hair salon and two packs of the sandcastle bath fizzers) all rest of shelves were almost bear. Had hoped for some of the duo FCUK sets for nephews. Went onto Great Yarmouth, def more selection there - lady told me in queue they didn't open till just before 10 due to electrical problem. Queues absolutely crazy. Got a few bits for children, didn't want any smellies. Finally stopped off at Gapton - almost empty - reckon when Yarmouth store didn't open at 9 people went there!! All in all not bad, I've had better success at previous 75% sales but still pleased with what I did get

I never made it in the end as kids school shut (found out jut after 7am) and was really foggy and bad looking outside so I chickened out. Some people I know had to go in to work tho and they said main roads drivable just but everywhere very slow and slippery. Apparently mall got hit hard at opening people rushing in but chapelfield was calmer but none of the big stuff there prob why. My friend was in abt 8.30 in chap and got few bits but she said some people were going nuts with several of the double basket things loaded high wow.

Glad you managed to get a few bits now to wait and see I the kids are off the rest of he week as don't think weather is going to get better yet

It probably was  I nearly wrote that you seemed to have a list rather than being an ebayer as I overheard you talking! At one point I was looking at what you had just put back...small world eh! There was lots of most things so it was all good. I was just glad I wasn't behind you at the tills :D :rotfl: Did you go to the town centre store at all?

Spent about an hour last night making the list, wrote all names then what to get then wrote another list of the total of each item we needed (OCD!) but have now done for the years present buying, but bit worried as people keep mentioning stuff going off?! Mum mum's bought us all the white bag Toni & Guy hair stuff for Christmas hopefully that doesnt go off?! We put a few FCUK compacts back as my Mum picked up a few as at £2.50 they were great. Very small world hopefully non of my family are reading this! (but if you are lots of thought and time did go in to present buying and you are getting better stuff than normal!). I had the fast check out person out of the two my Mum had the slightly slower one! Nope didnt bother with town we got everything we needed but did pop into the Willows at 2ish on the way somewhere else just to see what was about (was it you I said hello to?) I saw someone who was at Newton in the morning so said hello, not that I thought they would remember me, i'm terrible at doing that and getting blank looks lol :rotfl:

Actually I didn't , read back to many pages ago I was in store, got everything I needed and in to work before 9am. :)
Again the store was full of people clearing shelves into large bags and standing guard over them.
I'm quite happy with what I picked up.
Just some friendly advice and a warning that S&G goes off - don't get sucked into the S&G hype.

Most o my s&g stuff from last yr has 12 or 24 month symbols on it and is still good so anyone buying to give as pressies thru the yr should be fine.

Are people receiving dispatched notices for both collection in store and home delivery?

I've not had my dispatch notice for in store collection yet.
  • Who are the people buying at £35? Stupid

They couldn't even be bothered to do a decent photo :D
