Dot just got up.. she is really not well.. temp is really high so she is drugged and stripped and desnotted and desicked.. I'll see if I can get her in the bath shortly that should cool her off. It looks like Pixie is starting with it too.. she has runny eyes and sneezes.

The Christmas sweater is growing though :)

  • I wasn't due to make any hampers this year, and I admit I was a little envious off all of your beautiful creations! Well, I had a bit of a quandary with a work colleague re Christmas gift and thought I better attempt something. The truth is I don't think we are exchanging gifts, but I'd feel awful if she got me something, and she's having a stressful time of it, so she could do with a bit of pampering. I've made her an indulgent bath hamper :)

The best thing is, it only cost me £4.95 - most of the items were re-gifted from unwanted pressies or left overs from last years hampers :D

Milk Tray selection - £1 from poundland
    Vanilla Candle - 50p
    Vaseline moisturizer - £1
    2 x hot chocolate sachet - 70p
    Facemask - 75p
bath caviar and bath pearls - £1

Cupcake Mug - bought earlier in the year in the 99p store for myself (unopened)
Gosh LE mixed berry nail varnish - bought last year in superdrug sale 65p
Scrub mitts - left over from last years 'beauty' hampers
Mini Nail files - unwanted pressie
Toe seperators (for nail varnish) - duplicate pressie
Snowflake tin (to keep it in) - bought last year from poundland

I personally think it looks like it's cost a lot more than what I paid, so hopefully she will like it :) She has two very small children, and is on her own, so I figure that being able to have a relaxing bath once they are in bed will appeal ;)

That looks amazing - I'm sure a similar one in carluccios would of cost £60+

    Xmas Saver!
    I have ringworm

Have checked the dog and she looks clear. Have just read you can pick it up in fields where dogs have been.

Going to buy some anti-fungal cream tomorrow. Hopefully that will clear it up.

    Nanamia that's great news!

Hanley I was going to suggest you get him an iron :D but Iron Maiden is a fantastic idea.

Freespirit thanks, hope you and yours are doing OK?

Feisty that hamper looks great. Hope you can get some results with your DH's hospital problems before too long, I don't know what they think they're playing at.

blue eyed girl your Italian hamper is fab too. I'd be pleased to be given either of them!

Peppapig thanks, hopefully they will know/understand this and I won't have any trouble. They've messaged me back with a suggestion, but I'd already tried that and no joy.

Chin up kiss me now, if you've got too much to do is it possible to ditch any of it or get someone else to do some?

Get well soon pigpen and family, hope it stops there and no one else catches it!

I'm cosy under my blanket watching Jonathan Creek with a naughty Baileys, I don't usually drink on a school night but hey, it's Christmas (nearly) :D

Aagh OMO, hope the cream kills the horrid things!
  • Evening everyone, another task done tonight, but i cheated and DS did it for me, deliver the neighbours cards, im such a scaredy cat, scared i will get caught and have to chat  so that is 3 done now :) none of my smilies have been working for days???

Freespirit - I was going to say something to you but it's just gone out of my head and won't come back so I'll just give you a wave instead. (Can you imagine the wave please - my smilies are playing games).

    Haha :rotfl:im waving back
We've heard from the hospital, and they've lied through their teeth about what happened to poor DH - we were told of what had happened by his cardiac team (who read from his notes) but now urology have said that it didn't happen that way at all. We suspect that they have intentionally altered his notes, and poor DH is fuming. No word on the op date though - thank you so much for asking :)
I've finished all my orders :j I've also bought or ordered ALL pressies, and our main food shop is done! I am the most organised I have ever been, and because I have told myself to stop trying to hit perfection, I am also enjoying it :)
If anyone is after a mince pie recipe, I can strongly recommend Nigella's frangipane one! It is amazing :) You can find it on my blog here

Oh FEISTY poor poor DH he must be at his wits end with it all now (and you of course) my god i hope i never have the misfortune of going to that hospital, the way they have treated DH is disgraceful. You sound so organised and stress free about christmas now im so glad, the hamper looks blooming lovely your workmate will love it and it looks a lot more than what you paid :)
Stressed is not the word :( humph, feeling so un Christmassy atm!
Work is stressful right now. I have one day off between now and Christmas Day and my OH still hasn't told me what he wants... so far he has a stocking filled (at least that's one thing?) and a t-shirt and pair of lounge pants that were reduced in Primark bought for him. Not really the £100 I budgeted for presents :/ He just won't tell me what he wants. He's been told tonight that Friday evening is his utter deadline to tell me so if he doesn't by then so be it.
Saturday is the last day I can get to the shops as I work Monday to Friday, 9 til 6 most days so I can't even take advantage of the extra two hours our shops are open for late night shopping. This Saturday I have a driving lesson until midday then my landlord decided yesterday that she wanted our extractor fan (which works bloody fine!) refitted Saturday afternoon and I *have* to be in when they do it. Uh, no. Sunday I'm going to my Nans as it's the tenth anniversary of my Grandads passing and next weekend I'm off to my cousins wedding which I got invited to two weeks ago...
    Still to do:
    - Sort out OHs presents.
    - Decorate Christmas Cake. (22nd December job)
    - Make yule log. (24th December evening job)
    - Buy my SS from work something - will have to be done this weekend as I have to give it to her on Monday...
    Done:
    - Mum, Dad, Sister, Brother in law presents
    - Cards written
    - OHs stocking wrapped.

Oh KISSMENOW please dont stress as the lovelies have said on here before, write lists, then decide is everything really important, will it ruin christmas if you dont do/buy it if not cross it off the list, and as for OH if he cant be bothered to tell you then just choose something yourself or give him money/voucher :)

HANLEY the first thing that came up in my head iron and sugar was a can or bottle of IRN BRU :rotfl:not very helpful i know lol
hope you get a car sorted

BLUEEYEDGIRL love the italian themed hamper it looks lovely

OMO oh no, god i have never heard of that being picked up like that, hope the cream sorts it out for you x

CUPOFCHAI yes we are all fine thankyou x

  • CupOfChai Not really :( It's not getting stuff done (the baking will either get done or it won't - not a big deal) it's getting in my head what I'm buying for my OH! Think his birthday is sorted now; we had a nice evening out at the pub and a little alcohol has lubricated some ideas out ;) With the watch I already have, the nerf gun + bullets (£20) and headphones he wants (£25) I'm sorted. His Christmas presents though still consist of just a pair of cheap lounge pants and a t shirt :o But I have a little more of an idea on DVDs and games I can get him. My parents have been asking as well for ideas but I think I need them all for myself!

On My Own Oh no, nightmare! Hope it clears up soon xx

Blue Eyed Girl and FeistyFidget great hampers! I made two a couple of years ago and they looked naff, nothing like yours! :T:T

That is actually ingenious! It combines both the Iron and the sugar. May get him a can of that to go with his main pressie. :D
