junior_j your hair is fantastic! love your positive attitude
nanamia you must have a photographic memory to recall and mention everything everyone says
i did have a reason to smile yesterday it was DS2s parents evening and he did good. always proud of my kids but hes started putting a bit more effort in and gaining some confidence.
pigpen, hope you are feeling a bit better today
hugs good wishes and positive vibes to all
busy today ive got a list a foot long that wont be achieved
so i think ill just finish making the 28 little felt stockings for 'my' class. ive actually found some little miniature candy canes so the plan is to take the stockings in on friday and tell them if they are good next week, santa will send me a little treat each to put in for them. they'll all get one anyway. ive got a book i use at lunch times and ive found an extra one that ive put a cover on saying santas nice list so if any children are caught by me using nice manners playing well etc i write their names in it. blatant bribery but its a bit of fun and they all enjoy it.
off to warm up the sewing machineSPC~12 ot 124

Hi everyone.
Not sure I have much to update re- what's been done but here goes.
-Now halfway through second section of mum's scarf- which means I am 75% done- managed to get a good bit done yesterday!
-Spoke to sister about DS present and she asked for some lego box numbers, so gave her a few to choose from and she was happy with that.
-DS school photos back so they are here for posting/wrapping (still waiting on truprint ones though- it has not been that long really).
-off out to lunch today with a few ladies I know from various places- should be good- thinking about trying to straighten my hair but then might just leave it curly!
-Grandad (DH dad) off to other in-laws for Christmas, so that confirms it will just be us (me, DH, DS- yay!). Mum stays where she lives and visits sisters family.
-Funny story- sent mum her present (brooch- thought it quite unusual) and low and behold my sister also got her a brooch! LOL, they are not the same and she likes both! Thankfully sis confirmed she WILL NOT be knitting mum a lace scarf for Christmas!
-DS disco postponed from last week is tomorrow, so better get him sorted clothes wise (from wardrobe- NOT new!)
-Also got DS nativity tickets booked, DH working, so grandad coming- only 2 tickets per family allowed which is par norm I suppose.
-Still no wrapping done but will do once this scarf is done!
Feeling quite Christmassy-ish, lol.
Hope all ill folk and struggling folk perk up soon.

morning all
mrs moneypenny how lovely that you have made little tiny stocking for your children.its the sort of thing that my boy would be really proud of.
didnt get an interview for the job i wanted. its amazing how i think. i just apply and assume i will get an interview and even though i KNOW thats really silly. i just assumed that i wouldnt have to go back to the job from hell after christmas. my husband just says its not that bad. its probably not. i lovite who i work with the only problem is the big bosses who pop in for about 30 mins once a month. now when i write it it sounds so silly to want to leave a job that fits in so perfectly with my life. my job is at my sons school so i get to see him about 10 times a day and there is no travelling to work.the actually school are really lovely and do everything to support me 100% of the time but the bosses come in and pick pick pick until you cry. its because they just want you to know that you cant do it your way you will do as your told. i need to get my head down and get on with it. i think with the other things going on in my life i just feel down about everything.
anyway i did some more wrapping and we sang stupid songs as we wrote my boys xmas cards so we had a fun night. i was supposed to be making a curry but DH treated us to fish and chips. it was delicious.
have a good day everyone0 -
Morning all.
Just thought I'd pop in and say Calling Mrs Christmas is £2.99 on the kindle today. And there's a free short festive story by Carole Matthews on kindle too.
Nanamia-yes, I saw Oliva Coleman on the Jonathon Ross show. We had taped it and started watching it, then I got a horrible feeling that they were going to mention something in the interview that would give away a spoiler of Broadchurch. We were part way through it and because it was on tv so long ago, I figured they could say something, assuming people had caught up by now, so I stopped watching it until we'd finished watching Broadchurch.
Found about that the Home Bargains nearby opened last Saturday, so I might go over there today. See what good stuff they have. Hope the fog/mist (not sure what the difference is!) lifts though. Not fun riding on the North Circular at the best of times, but with poor visibility it'll be scary.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

No excuse really just easier to see what I've written on the iPad. I'm sorry b_e_g for the Tom Daley moment. I'm glad DSs girlfriend was nice. And Feisty for requesting help from your Chinchillas rather than your lovely dogs.
Mrsinvisible thank you for the hobnailed boots, I think they've kept the pesky BD at bay todayOooh preparing the room ready for the China party
I'm so envious, enjoy every minute. I'm pleased that you are managing to get some of the damage repaired and get your garden sorted xxx

Mrs M you do say the most beautiful thingsI hope something happened to make you smile too today. I just love your decorations xxx
Nic glad the landlord inspection went well, ignore her comment! Cheeky mare. When we were visiting DS they had an inspection, she did look in cupboards, under beds, in the oven, garage, garden and measured the Grass OMG I'd never seen anything like it. And it's every three months! So pleased you've done so well with your ordersyou do deserve too
xxx
Fevertotell I've been decluttering (attempting) I went a bit crazy at first- became a bit manic. But I'm finding it really quite catharticSlowly does it, baby steps and try not to put any unreasonable demands on your self. Your plans for the rest of the week sound very festive. Enjoy xxx
Mrs Christmas aww my lovely, I do hope you've found Christmas. If you cant find it, amidst all those fab decorations theres not much hope for the rest of us! xxx
Pinksteps ooh get you with a badgewoo hoo. That photo of Teddy is going to look fab an a canvas. Have you had any joy from the hospital re DSs casts yet? Xxx
Choccymoose that sounds wonderful. The panto is in St Helen's (about 30 mins drive away) but we went last year and it was fab, so am looking forward to it on Sunday. And it's Peter Pan DGD2 loves it, it's also the theme for her birthday party on the 22ndxxx
Furball wow, that's gorgeous, that really is my kind of tree X
Pixtotts totally agree the Nativity is brill. Anybody seen the second one? Is it worth buying or will it be a let down ? X

Mandco enjoy, your house full. You'll miss it when it's gonexxx
JJ what can I say? You crazy girl, I love itNow you really have gone the extra mile decorating yourself too, you could've just had a Christmas jumper or flashing earrings but no not our JJ Freespirit is so right. You really are our Festive Princess Im very envious of your letter from Santa
no peeking xxx
Peppa I've just watched Gavin and Stacey again (courtesy of my wonderful festive lurker) I just love it. Watched Elf at lunchtime with DGD2 too, I've been spoilt todayI've made a note of the recommended films to watch out for so thank you xxx
Linky storage is a blooming nightmare for me too, but there used to be two more people living here and all the claptrap that they had, think I just spread myself out! xxx
I'm worried about posting this now, and catching up with Linky and Pinksteps giddy pair. Who knows what they've been posting whilst I've been typing. Here goes xxx
NANAMIA i cant believe that, what they go into on DS house inspection and every 3 months, oh my god i would be scared to do or touch anything, i would be living on tenterhooks permanently :eek:Ameyturtle wrote: »Progress is being made!!
I cleaned our decking yesterday as it was getting so slippery it was dangerous, you can now get to the shed without the fear of falling over and breaking something.
I also cleaned the oven yesterday, I did feel like wonder woman this morning I feel like I've done ten rounds in the ring :rotfl:
