OMO the chocolate is really funny - I actually looked at one like that today so really glad I decided to give it a miss.

Peppa was just checking out the films you'd recommend on amazon and noticed the author Debbie Macomber has a few festive books too. Just downloaded to kindle app one for £0.59 if anybody needs to stock up hths xxx

Thanks Nana, that's a good price, I'll pop over there and see what's available. I've read all the other Christmas books I put on my Kindle so I need to replenish.

I've messaged the seller that I want to return it for a refund, but I'm actually rather hoping they ignore me so I can just get Ebay to close the case and refund me, and I won't have to pay to return it. Just thinking now that it's lucky I did try to use it before giving it to the person, so I've got a chance of sorting it out and they're not disappointed!

CupofChai, if it's faulty and not fit for purpose you shouldn't have to pay return postage whatever happens - at least you know ebay will side with you if they don't play fair.

Dashing in with an update from son by another Mum! Excellent news by all accounts new meds regime is doing the trick transplant prob won't be necessary. Woooo hooo I'm over the moon. Such fabulous news I had to share. Happy happy Christmas xxx

Fabulous Nana - what good news just before Christmas.

Pigpen - Sounds horrendous - hope all the family are well again very soon.

Freespirit - I was going to say something to you but it's just gone out of my head and won't come back so I'll just give you a wave instead. (Can you imagine the wave please - my smilies are playing games).
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Hi everyone. Can somebody help please. It's mine and DH's 6 wedding anniversary on Xmas Eve and I always like to get him a pressie that represents what anniversary it is. 6 years is either sugar or iron. I was thinking that sugar is probably easier to buy than iron. Maybe a sweetie hamper. But can anybody else think of anything more original at all?

    Thanks.

  • Well i have done the sum total of nothing, one wash in machine and all i have done is sit and watch christmas films, i have a headache from panicking about the electric people coming to service the electric smoke alarm, and he was really nice, i wish i had a backbone and didnt worry about these things, thank god that is over now, that is my 2nd frog i have eaten this week, i just really cba at everything today :(

    OMO is everything ok?
FEISTY hi, hope you have a good day, how is DH at the moment and has the hospital been in touch about op?
JUNIORJ wow, wow, wow, love your hair you festive princess, im so sorry you are still in pain and have another sinus infection, hope you feel better soon
NIC that is fantastic, im so glad your business is doing so well
PIGPEN oh well it was nice while it lasted :)

We've heard from the hospital, and they've lied through their teeth about what happened to poor DH - we were told of what had happened by his cardiac team (who read from his notes) but now urology have said that it didn't happen that way at all. We suspect that they have intentionally altered his notes, and poor DH is fuming. No word on the op date though - thank you so much for asking :)

Nana that is flipping awesome! I have thought of your son from another Mum often - I'm so glad that it is good news :)

I've finished all my orders :j I've also bought or ordered ALL pressies, and our main food shop is done! I am the most organised I have ever been, and because I have told myself to stop trying to hit perfection, I am also enjoying it :)

If anyone is after a mince pie recipe, I can strongly recommend Nigella's frangipane one! It is amazing :) You can find it on my blog here

He does drink it but he only drinks it black with no sugar! It's a great idea I'm doing something similar for my brother who loves sweet coffee. I did think about sweetie tree but not sure whether I'll be able to get all the stuff to make one in time.

Still not got a car. It would cost so much to fix that we have decided we're better off getting a new one. DH is going with his dad tomorrow to look at some. If they get one then I'll be able to get further afield at the weekend so will be easier to buy some supplies and make something.

He doesn't do any weight lifting but I really like the idea of something with the word in like a dvd or cd. Hmmm off to put the words into google and see what comes up. Thanks.

Ooh just remembered one of his favourite bands is Iron Maiden! Off to search Amazon for a greatest hits CD.

Thank you so much I knew I'd get some great ideas on here. :T

Iron man DVD? The 3rd film came out on DVD recently.
Something made of cast iron? Shoe scraper, horseshoe, doorstop (think I saw some in Home Bargains earlier if that's any use), wall art.

Lots of sugar things around at this time of year! Sugar mice? Bake some cupcakes if you have time?
There's a series called Sugar Rush which was set in Brighton. We enjoyed it, but it might not be to everyone's taste.
Make a cd with songs containing 'iron' or 'sugar'-there's a song from the 60s called Sugar Sugar. Iron Maiden cd?
