Lovely pic! Your hair colour is fab-I want mine like that, but the chlorine fades it so quickly. Your wrap is very nice too. :)
Oh, I have eaten one of the Snowy lodge (Lidl) mince pies. Couldn't wait until Sunday. I like them. Good flavour and a brilliant price. I'm sure they'll be even better heated with some brandy butter or cream. ;)

Aww thankyou RUTHHONEY its the Olia hair dyes i think intense red, they dont smell and i think the red lasts longer than other dyes but like you say chlorine is awful, i bought the wrap because i dont do coats i get so hot :)

Oh you lot have cheered me up no end this evening :) You lovely lot, I've giggle and chuckled catching up on today's goings on xxx

Chrissy thank you for the heads up on the asda info, apple are doing something too aren't they- might be handy for DDs iPad ? And John Lewis are price matching too :) Is the house finally sorted? xxx
Pigpen I like Ruth love to wrap so if you are thinking of travelling to Stockport any time soon you could drop it off :) Though thinking about it your Christmas shopping would probably fill your car with no room for passengers wouldn't it! Ha xxx
b_e_g your Italian themed hamper is coming along great :) How did your Mum get on today? Did you enjoy the change of hospital ! xxx
Debndot hope DH enjoys his new job, all change at yours isn't it. Exciting times ahead X
Mrs M wow you are going great guns now. Hope the fayre goes really well for you, though it is good to have a second chance option as back up too. Bless you such a beautiful thing to do for such a good cause xxx
RiskyB I'm not having a tree this year either, long story but I've always had a real tree but last year DH and DD chose it and it was a disaster so decided not to have a real one this year - to buy artificial. Well I've looked at them and have decided that if I'm not having a real tree a decal will do. Well people, friends, neighbours who do know me well can't believe it so it may be me having as DD like to say "an episode" and I may live to regret it and run out Christmas Eve for a real tree but that's the plan. They just keep saying "a sticker, you can't just have a sticker" haha only time will tell I suppose X
Noodles I can't help/advise re Birmingham vs MKs I'm afraid but I reckon you'll have a good time together which ever you decide to do. It's a great idea (I may borrow - in the future ) xxx
Pixtotts how was the Victorian market, I did hear an advert for one local to me on the radio at the Lowry boasting real carousel, did sound fun. Your Nan does make me chuckle, reminds me so much of mine. She was such a wonderful, inspirational lady I miss her :( So enjoy yours a little bit extra for me this Christmas xxx
Orkney Star sending big welcome waves, pull up a chair I think Freespirit has the mince pies and Msgigglewick has some yummy sounding coffee :) X
Kat my new sofa (several yrs ago) was delivered at this time of year, strangely new leather makes me think of Christmas now too. I've not seen the china in B&M but I too have a plain white china set which I use everyday (unlike my Nana, who kept her fav for best!!!) which I absolutely love took me 20 ish years of being married to get it but I love it. Was in wilkinsons this week and saw they have a white china range too, really quite classy, I treated myself to the salt and pepper pots- would have had more but DH had a close eye on me! xxx
Cupofchai I picked up one of those hugs, perfect timing thank you. It was just what I needed :) Woo hoo it's nearly the weekend. Have the best time and pop back in and share please xxx
Ruth you are exactly right, we've managed to keep the spirit of Christmas alive all year round on this thread. It is addictive tho, DH says to me what are you doing on there haha when I feel the urge to check what everybody is doing at strange times during the day (particularly if he's driving) Oh I'm such a dope, I was picturing snowy (icing) shape of a lodge pies, ha, I don't get out much. Now that you've tasted them I'm drooling :) thanks for that ha. May have it was Mondays treat xxx
Msgigglewick no it's definelty not sad to get excited about that :) As you know I'm a bit of a dinosaur and a little scared of 'new' things haha, I've still not had a flavoured coffee. I used to like weak, very milky coffee but recently I'm really enjoying coffee with a bit more umph (DS introduced me with his all singing all dancing machine) So educate me please, what would you advise? I know the flavoured sachets were on offer recently but think they count as syns so haven't tried one. And whilst I am picking your brain, what do you advise me to do about SW over the festive season. I don't want to put on weight really, never dieted/followed plan before and this'll be my first Christmas on it so I'm a bit stumped as to what to do :( help please xxx
Choccymoose well I for one am very glad you are sharing xxx
Linky I'm glad today has been quieter for you all. All that done for 8.30 I hope you snuck back into bed for an hour! I'm not surprised in the least at your DDs skills this evening, look who she's had as her teacher. Go Miss Linky go, we are very proud of you :) And I hope it cheers her up after the blooming time she's had lately xxx
Freespirit what a lovely photo, now I have a picture to your name. Thank you. Wow you do look like a proud mummy, not a hint of the stresses it took to get you there :) I beautiful memory to treasure for ever. DD has done well, that hamper looks so professional doesn't it :) Well hope your LR gets done tomorrow ready woo hoo, the big switch on.

Pinknfluffy no pressure my lovely but if you are lurking please bob in, Im worried about you! xxx
Flowfy I'm sure you are having such a festive time with DS that you've not got a minute to call your own but sending big waves from us all :) xxx

Well planning for my last cake order, it's for DSiL many of you will remember that this time last year she was fighting for her life. Well this time next week she'll be the big 5 0 woo hoo. DBIL wants a very plain tasteful (simple haha) white square/rectangle with a pink 50 and a few flowers. Perfect. That's not going to stress me, which is just as well cos I want to enjoy the celebrations :) xxx
News from the hospital on son from another Mum is positive - possible weekend release, new meds doing better, heart is severely damaged but to what extent or what they can do about it is apparently not clear yet. But he's much more comfortable :) xxx

Mrs and Mrs Feisty sending hugs and healing vibes my lovelies xxx

nanamia, wonderful news about son from another mum, i hope he gets let out and the weekend and the meds continue to improve his health and the damage is reversible.

  • freespirit - what a lovely picture. You all look so happy and proud. Great tango hamper :T

OMO - well done to DD on an amazing result. I know we should really sort stuff to sell but I cannot see it happening atm. Will have a clear out in the New Year - promise ;)

Ameyturtle - DS bought GTA5 when it first came out and I don't think he has been in the house long enough to play it as he is either at work and he has got a new gf. I told him to wait until the prices came down/something to get him for xmas but no he had to have it then :). Good luck with the wrapping.

nanamia - Mum got on fine yesterday and doesn't have to go back for that appt for another 6 months (yaaay). She is at docs this morning as they are working on her bp and changing the meds so she is having to go backwards and forwards to have checks but (fingers crossed) we might be getting there. :D Got a phone call last night to say that the elderly lady we have been visiting in hospital is being discharged today but she has been told she will have to stay upstairs as they cannot get any carers in place until tomorrow  She has been ready to come home since Wednesday and they have been trying to get carers sorted since then. We will still be visiting and checking on them when she gets home but at least there will be a bit of leeway on visiting times and parking wont be as much of a problem. In the three weeks we have been visiting the hospital DH has only managed to get parked twice - he has just been dropping us off and I have been phoning him when we are ready for home. I suppose it was cheaper than paying the charges. :) Good luck with the birthday cake - sounds lovely. Hope son from another mum gets home over weekend. So sad that he is so young to have such awful problems.

Oh well washer has finished, time for shower (bet DH beats me) while I'm sorting the bloomin washin.

    Take care eveyone,

    b_e_g

PS I think our town lights are getting switched on tonight :j

  • Friday, is it really already Friday?????? Nooooo, it can't be 29th of November yet, can it? Oh, dear me, must get up, must rush, must rush, well maybe not rush but concentrate and get on with stuff.
OMO glad the man from the council has reported your neighbour, and that the shed is going. Your DD has bounced back, good, after your nightmare family experience.
Nanamia, so pleased to hear the hopeful news about son from another mum, may it continue to improve. Your cakes are always so beautiful, and your DSil will love it, too.
OMO, I think I may be one you missed, but it was my fault for not posting it till Tuesday, or so. Anyway, don't worry.
Yesterday I excelled myself in being non MSE, I bought a throw and two cushions in Aldi and a Karcher window thing from C*rrys and my new Kindle fire was delivered. Now I must pull back and re-freeze the credit card.
I took my DSIL her Advent calendar yesterday, she was blown away by it, which was nice, I will take my friend hers today and Fave cous hers tomorrow, then I will get all the decorations down from the loft (that's what I meant, Nanamia, when I said get Christmas down) and start to put them up.
Oh, I made one of the 'wreath' hanging baskets, and it looks ok, but another friend has asked if l would do her one, so l will give it to her.
I will delay freezing the card until tonight as it is Black Friday at Asd*, thanks for the info. Oh, dear, please Santa, can you put a kilo of 'won't power' in my stocking this year?
Be good all, in fact, be spectacular, as usual, all xxx
  • nanamia! my last 3 christmas days i've saved my syns up all week... though my main xmas dinner i've filled.. and i mean filled my plate up with all sorts of vege.. turkey is synfree if you eat the breast and NO skin, stuffing i had one small ball which is 1syn, gravy worked out 2 syns, i didn't have yorkies but you could for 1syn each. pigs in blankets you could wrap yours in lean bacon medalions (will check on syns on cocktail sausages for you in a bit) so my main meal worked out about 5 syns i seem to remember.. i then had dessert of syn free icecream with chocolate sauce, But if you saved your weeks syns up. let yourself go just for xmas day. back on to things the rest of the week.. you can still have turkey sarnies with your heb, etc. going on school run but will be back later :D

Chrissy thank you for the heads up on the asda info, apple are doing something too aren't they- might be handy for DDs iPad ? And John Lewis are price matching too :) Is the house finally sorted? xxx

Im waiting for the proceeds from the house sale for dd's ipad, the buyers solicitor has to look at the paperwork and get them to sign , i believe they have given the solicitor a boot up the backside.
The EA said the next call we get will be from our solicitor with a completion date, i reading that as she doesn't expect to be calling me with updates next Thursday [fingers crossed!]cos it will be sorted by then.

I feel a bit happier with the christmas buying ive managed to get all but the ipad this month just waiting for it all to arrive.

Is anyone getting anything for Amazons black Friday deals ? ive been very dissapointed this year.

  • freespirit! wonderful photo:D and im loving that tango hamper.

omo yay to your daughter!!!! i'm hoping to go through our house room by room next year and get rid of anything we've not used for a long time or no longer need... i know theres a bread maker in the attic thats been used a handful of times, i might even have the box still.. so anything like that will get sold on. or given to charity. we need to refind the house! lol and thats my new years resolution.. that and becoming more social in person (that will be the hardest one)
