well I have heard the christmas market in bham is very good but is always rammed
Mk isn't very Christmassy to be honest. The christmas display is nice but it's really small this year. They have an ice rink in the foodhall where waitrose used to be which might be worth a look at (although it's just temporary so not very glamorous lol)

    Small

This is ours. Or should I say WAS ours. :rotfl:

  • italian hamper sounds loely and red green white paper covered box sounds ideal, or could you get a cheap italian flag and cover a box with that?

Loving all these ideas. Waiting to see what size box/container I will need once everything is bought and then it will be a case of what I can get my hands on. :D

Good luck with the fundraising. Such a worthy cause. My family are raising money for the Lullaby Trust - I don't know whether you remember my neice/goddaughter lost a little one last year.

blue_eyed_girl - go out doors have some lovely more coat like than outdoor fleece fleeces uuhh... I'm sure you can guess what I mean :P really cozy looking we just got my gran one. She's infuriating though my uncle got her a new purple fleece last Christmas, Gran won't wear it... she's "keeping it for best" so each year now were getting her a new one so the one she's had a year she can start wearing every day and get rid of some of the old ones ....well we can try :/ . She does it with everything drives me mad! I went round there and she said "oh I can't see... what does it say?" now that week we'd been to get her new glasses so I asked her if she was wearing them... guess what.... "oh no I'm keeping them for best" :| ...there are no words...

This made me smile - sounds just like my Mum. The worrying things is - I can see me starting to be just the same  :D

    Hi,

I'm doing a Itailian hamper for my friend & have got a tin foil turkey roast tin from the poundshop. I got a paper Xmas table cloth & am using that to make it look pretty, but I think the silver foil looks good too.

Another great suggestion - thank you. :)

Dont know your budget - M&S have mini panettone cakes at 2 for £4. I think wilko had them for £1.5 last year. You can make tons of different pestos' your self at home. and pesto can be frozen as well. How about get tons of different jars and fill each one with a different kid of pasta and wrap ribbons round them. How about buying a cheap Italian recipe book or print out some recipes yourself to throw in. Italian cheeses? Can you put in a large wooden box (wrapped up in brown baking parchment a stuffed full with red, green and red tissue paper? then tie up box with red/green ribbons? Prosseco (waitrose normally have theirs on offer for £6. Maybe the film roman holiday with Audrey hepburn in it.

Trying not to go overboard too much as we have bought them individual pressies and this was just an added extra :D Particularly like the pasta jars, ribbons and videos. :D

Could everyone that set tasks this week please check out my post on page 461. I'm sure I have missed someone off. I have gone back over the posts twice but can't see it. :o

Not a bad day today. No fallout.

Council phoned to say they had told next door to take down the shed thing. He is also reporting them to fraud because like me he thinks the man is living there.
When I got home she was in said shed on the phone. She said ' I know it was her ! I'm not worried about the benefit bit, we'll just do what we did before'
Surely even in the fraud office ignored me they won't ignore a council worker. I would hope that they would dig a bit deeper.
By 8.30 this morning I had taken Mia for an hours walk and done my shopping in Aldi. It was do mice to finish work today and come straight home.
I used the Mirror £5 off voucher that I got when walking the dog. I bought a Sherpa fleece throw, ds 6 pairs of boxer shorts, a tin of Foxes biscuits ( voucher to make them £2.79) my normal shop and then I had to go back and get a bottle of Amaretto because I hadn't reached £40. :D
I must admit I didn't buy a lot of food, I don't have room for it in the cupboards. :o

    :bdaycake: Happy Birthday Polarexpress :bdaycake:

Hello all Newbies ( sorry my mind has gone blank on names :o )

Glad they have to take monstrosity down :) cant believe they arent worried about benefits !!

OMG I live in a mad house.

Dd has decided to have a clear out and sell some of her old clothes as we are going to Lakeside next week ( there is a Primark over 3 floors  )
She has put them all on a local FB page. Her phone and the laptop have not stopped bleeping. People are knocking every 10 minutes to collect stuff.
Mia is having a field day with all the attention she is getting.
And poor ds is just trying to watch the Tottenham match in peace.
ETA she has just sold 2 pairs of Primark boots for the same price I bought them for last year.
We got them in Oxford St. I don't think they had them down here.

Good for DD very MSE, poor DS trying to watch his football :rotfl:

Lovely pic! Your hair colour is fab-I want mine like that, but the chlorine fades it so quickly. Your wrap is very nice too. :)

Oh, I have eaten one of the Snowy lodge (Lidl) mince pies. Couldn't wait until Sunday. I like them. Good flavour and a brilliant price. I'm sure they'll be even better heated with some brandy butter or cream. ;)
