Well I remembered the Australia cards. :j Posted three cards and bought 20 2nd class stamps came to nearly £14
Have made a start on the Italian hamper -
Home Bargains
jar sundried tomatoes
jar roast peppers
jar of pesto
box of grissini
Lidl
box of tuscan biscuit selection
italian style melba toast
Couldn't find the christmas tree pasta in Lidl but might get some tricolour stuff from Mr. S's tomorrow. Will also have a mooch around to see what else we can find - like olive oil, balsamic etc.
Scratching my head trying to think of a good way to present this
Take care everyone

Would the jars etc fit in a huge pasta serving bowl? Or maybe just decorate a cardboard box with red, white & green stripey paper?0 -
_party_ HAPPY BIRTHDAY POLAR EXPRESS _party_
Hope you have a lovely time noodles whatever you decide to do.
Hope you feel better soon wuvvies.
DS has confirmed he has ordered DH's pressie for me. He sent me a txt this morning to tell me only I had forgotten my phone so didn't get the message till I got back home.
Oh I also picked up some of the handwarmers from Lidl (heart shaped) to go in with neice's bike stuff. Got DS some macedamia nuts - I think they were about £3.50 bit expensive but it is xmas
In Home Bargains I picked up a couple of pairs of the gloves that allows you to use your phone (sorry I cannot think of the name) - 99p each. These were just in cellophane pack. They had some £1.49 in a box but the gloves themselves were quite large and when I tried them my fingers didn't come anywhere near the end so I think it would be quite difficult to use your phone. The 99p ones were more like the magic gloves - not overly thick - but hey ho we can't have everything. Oh I also got a microfibre cloth to go with the bike stuff too.
Don't know what to get Mum yet - she says there is nothing she needs bless her. I looked in M & S the other day for a nice fleece jacket. They only had the very thin ones for a tenner or the really fluffy ones that look like the pyjama top type. Well I don't think so as she is 86. Might try and get a day out next week with DH to one of the bigger town so see what I can get. Otherwise I will just have to take chance and order online.
Well its that time when I should be getting a wriggle on :rotfl:
Catch up with you all later,

I think I might be struggling to fit the jars into a pasta dish but I really like the idea of the stripey paper. Had thought of doing the label in Italian but will take a rain check on that one.

Pasta bowl is a brilliant idea, or a lasagne dish, (a plain white one is only £3 Wilko... I'm searching for a pretty one for mum if you happen to spot any shout up)
Dad's home this weekend so I've been a busy bee nothing exciting though. We are VERY stuck on what to get mum for Christmas it's her big present were stumped, ideas for little bits, like the lasagne dish, a book, some dvds, but nothing main present ish
But for a little yayness - I'm going to the victorian fayre in Worcester tonight
But first I must tidy my room and split some wood
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Dammit that last post was going to be it and I was going to get on with stuff... but im still here shh
blue_eyed_girl - go out doors have some lovely more coat like than outdoor fleece fleeces uuhh... I'm sure you can guess what I mean :P really cozy looking we just got my gran one. She's infuriating though my uncle got her a new purple fleece last Christmas, Gran won't wear it... she's "keeping it for best" so each year now were getting her a new one so the one she's had a year she can start wearing every day and get rid of some of the old ones ....well we can try. She does it with everything drives me mad! I went round there and she said "oh I can't see... what does it say?" now that week we'd been to get her new glasses so I asked her if she was wearing them... guess what.... "oh no I'm keeping them for best"
...there are no words...
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Put my last riverford orders in for December, not a happy bean as I forgot to confirm my order for 6th Dec & now all the Vinison boxes have sold out
Also been on my supermarket & did a big dry good order to keep us going through january, lots of pasta, beans, lentils & what not so that my supermarket visit will be minimal in January.
Last of the advent calendar fillers arrived from crafy crocs today so will wrap them this weekend. Our local christmas fare is on Saturday so will take ds & have a mooch.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

cuppa then first box of wrapping to be done.. wish me luck.. I want to cry just thinking about it.
Don't cry, be very very thankful that you have a box of things to wrap and a family to give the presents to- Christmas must be fun in your house lol.
ETA I don't mean this is in a cheeky way, I realise things can seem over-whelming at time, I just thing it can help to count your blessings when you feel like crying (and sometimes the sad cry turns into a cry of joy or even a laugh!).
And to everyone who is not doing so well (I have read some of the posts, skimming as there is lots to get through), I pray things get better soon and that there is something to make you smile soon!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Am I too late to join?
Pressies:
I am preparing for Christmas, all presents bought for DS, DH, my mum, his dad, school photos ordered today (only got proofs yesterday), school calendars also got for those who are getting them.
Mum also has a birthday on the 6th Dec, present got, card got today.
Nephew has a birthday on the 5th Jan, but think it will just be a card this year as the things he might want are far too expensive in all honesty!
DH birthday in Mar, no idea what to get.
Knitting:
Mum is getting a knitted shawl thing, very lacy and time consuming- first half done so need to work more on that. DH has 1/2 socks done of a pair and might also like to make DS a balaclava.
Next tasks:
I think my next task is to get wrapping paper (more have some), toy sack (NOT santa one) and also write some cards out too.
Food:
Christmas meal will be low key so just doing a slightly larger than normal shop for that.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
