My Dad has just phoned
My cousins youngest daughter made a comment on FB and dd told her to do one and that the whole lot of them could take a jump.
He told me that wasn't nice and they were still our family
I told him that his family had a different name to mine and he could keep them.
He goes on about family but left us for another one. I was in my 20's but my kids were only little. One day he was there the next day he wasn't. He told me had gone over the phone. I was shopping in Morrison's at time.
Ds won't even phone him as he is such a stranger to him. (2 of my dad's step children are the same age as my 2, 2 are a couple of years older). He completely forgot he had grandchildren for about 6 years.
Have just phoned dd and she says she never wants to see any of them again. To be honest that doesn't bother me in the slightest.0 -
Your poor DD OMO:( Your mum will soon realise when she asks for help again and is told where to go by your DD. x
Hugs Crowdpleaser, sorry to hear about the state of the place. Sounds like you will have it nice in no time and the rest can be done as and when x
I jut pulled out everything I've got for the kids and I'm pretty much finished theirs. Maybe a few more stocking fillers for my DS and another few wee bits for the wee one. I'm about to go and write it all down and wrap it all and hide it. I'm worried they find it this year as I'm not usually this organised lol.
I just wish I had a Baileys to sip while doing it. I usually leave all wrapping til Christmas Eve with a few baileys and nibbles, x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I nearly forgot to post my pics from shopping earlier!
I remember a few people mentioning festive teas & saw these in tk maxx today. I hope the pics come out ok so people can see the flavours
also found another stag to add to our collection
And primark had some more Christmassy (but not too Christmassy) jumpers
Including one that lights up!! I took a video but I can't get it to upload0 -
Dd is still upset but my cousin who is coming to London has spoken to her and said sod the rest of them. So she is a bit better now. She is the only one of them I talk to. To be honest she is the only normal one.
On a lighter note Peacocks have 20% at the minute and they have some festive jumpers in.
I won't be shopping there as I had a code and tried for 40 minutes today to get it to work. I then phoned them and said ' ' Why are you advertising a code on your page that doesn't work ?'
The man replied ' It's because we have a sale on, but your not losing anything, the discount is the same as the code . '
Me - wrong person, wrong day !!!!
' I have lost 40 minutes of my life !!!!! You can stick you website, I'll do my shopping somewhere else !!!!'
But don't let that put you off. Grab a bargain :rotfl:0 -
mkgirl I'm not sure what I think about flavoured tea. They have a Mango one. :T shouldn't tea taste like tea. I had a flavoured tea once and it tasted like coloured hot water :rotfl:
Love the reindeer and Jumpers .0 -

Monday would have been my Nans birthday. Dd didn't know this, as she died before she was born. So my Mum phoned her on Monday to ask her to help her get something down off a high shelf. Dd goes round there. Mum is !!!!!!. Dd gets book down and makes them both a of tea. My Mum gives Dd £10.
Roll on yesterday. mum now sober, goes to shop to buy a paper and no £10 in her purse.
She then phones everyone and tells them Dd has stolen the money and she wants nothing more to do with her. Dd crying rings and is told she is a thief and to F off.
My cousin then puts a post on FB about water being thicker than blood and some people should be ashamed of themselves.
I phone my Dad and he says Dd shouldn't have taken the money from her because she was drunk and she should have known better.
And when I say she phoned everyone I mean all my aunts and cousins. And because she was sober and crying I think they believed her. Not one of them has phoned me to see what really happened.
Dd was in tears all afternoon yesterday. She only stopped when she fell asleep on the sofa.
If my Dad mentions it I will tell him to stick it. I have had enough of my family. I would be quite happy to never see any of them again.
I have just been sitting here all day fuming.
I have told Dd to try not to get upset, the old bag will have no-one to help her soon and she will be a lonely old woman.
Oh OMO bless your DD out of the goodness of her heart she goes to help her do something and then gets accused of stealing its b****y outrageous, even when sober your mum should not have told everyone else, how could she do that to her own granddaughter no wonder she cried all afternoon she must be feeling so hurt, i felt teary just reading your post its just horrible. Sending you a big hug because you must be feeling so angry and frustrated at the injustice of it all and an even bigger one to DD xx#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

Some teas are very nice. Most smell delicious but don't taste of much.
I was in Homesense earlier and I think they sell the same stuff as TK Maxx (excluding clothing) but I didn't notice the teas. Bought two Christmas coffees, though. Still no joy in Next finding the fairisle throw that was mentioned a while ago. Is this a sign I should buy the Aldi one instead???
Got some Christmas pasta in Lidl.Has anyone seen that Asda are doing tree shaped crumpets for Christmas? 4 for £1. *need*
So sorry that some of my fellow Christmas nutters (meant in the nicest way, of course) are having a rough time at the moment. Big hugs to you all. It's such a lovely group of friends on here. Really feel part of something special.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I would think you get 2 Aldi ones for the price of a Next one
Somedays ( most days actually) I feel you are all closer to me than my actual family. And apart from Ameyturtle I've never met any of you.0 -

Actually it's only £3 more than Aldi's one. I've been pricing up similar sizes and Next's one is reasonable (for them!) Costco have a nice one too, but it's plain and I'm quite partial to a fairisle pattern. And I missed the £3 off voucher for the Costco throw by 3 days!!!
Did I mention I bought the Snowy Lodge mince pies in Lidl? They're supposed to be very good. Will crack open the box at the weekend. 12 for £1.49, so hope we like them as that's great value.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
