    Hi all, sneaking back in....

I've been busy trying to implement your business suggestions - we are seeing a teeny, weeny glimmer of progress. I am also planning to head up as many craft fairs as possible, but instead of my papercut bits, it will be more about the shop - will then give out leaflets and try to tell as many customers as possible to come and visit us.

I am also tentatively looking into hosting a christmas fair at the barn opposite the shop - depends on cost etc as really don't want lots of extra stress before Christmas.

my worst nightmare is happening...... secret santa....i hate nothing more, waste of £10 and tat that will just end up in the bin. To make it worse partners are included, so knowing my luck i will wind up buying for a guy i barely know and cant stand (he treats my friend horrifically). :( booooo.

im still checkng in and reading up but still awaiting the return of my hopefully mended laptop x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Watched two good films on Christmas 24 yesterday and had a fab time at the Craft and Vintage fair in the shopping centre at Milton Keynes which is only about 15 minutes drive from where I live. On the way back, popped into local garden centre to admire the Christmas decorations and stole a couple of ideas so overall a great day.

Some of the stalls at the fair sell upcycled vintage furniture and it's really good value - gutted that I don't have any room for it. One had painted individual chairs in Christmassy colours and added writing on the back and seat. Things like 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' in nice script. I really really want one!

Today have wrapped lots of pressies while watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special - have to confess I'm a bit of an addict and I've already watched it about 10 times in the past few months.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • hello all haven't posted in a while... hope everyones ok

sorry the following isn't xmas related but need to get it off my chest before I explode

had big plans for the past few weeks for xmas prep but unfortunately this pregnancy has been complicated from the start we knew going into it this time there would be risks but never expected it to be this hard as our previous pregnancys haven't been too bad, rushed into hospital on Friday and have discovered I have a blood clot so on high dose blood thinning injections twice a day, have been let home for the weekend to consider a scan they want to do its called a vq to locate exactly where the blood clot is but doctors have warned odds in pregnancy 1 in 100 will develop breast cancer from the radiation due to the breast tissue being so sensitised (sp) and can cause hypothyroidism to the baby
not particularly keen on this obviously but also have the worry of the clot becoming a pulmonary embolism

so confused I could cry which I seem to do a lot of lately damn pregnancy hormones!

on the plus side hubby has been doing a fab job of xmas shopping making the most of cash back and vouchers etc so not too worried about being off sick now just a few more to get then a few for family and presents will be sorted

NANAMIA you sound as though you have had a lovely week with your loved ones, especially Wicked, now whats this about not impressed by yankee candles, you are my sister from another mister you simply HAVE to like yankee candles, what fragrances do you like food, spices, flowery, fruity, fresh?? Start from choosing one of your favourites and go from there :) most are absolutely gorgeous but some are absolutely revolting

1% is very low risk.. if they said 99% chance nothing will happen that's worth it surely and sounds far more positive. Breastfeeding will negate that risk ;)

Also hypothyroidism is something which is treatable, it means medication forever but it isn't such a terrible thing... and it is a chance, also probably very small which they have to tell you about.. like saying there is a chance you will be run over when you cross the road but you aren't run over most of the time.

2 members of my family died as a result of PE.. it is a touchy subject, especially when my dad developed a clot a few months ago too (it was his dad and brother who died) to me that risk is much higher and more dangerous for you and the baby.

Mandco and Fluffysox thank you both, such lovely things to say :) I love it on this thread, it really does attract the very best of people xxx
Feisty the photos on FB look fab, glad you are feeling a little more positive :) How is DH? xxx
Pixtotts fingers crossed you get you friend and not her partner in the secret Santa and you can have fun choosing her gift (if it's him you can do a huge jar of nothing!) haha my wicked streak :) X
MKGIRL Christmas came early :) woo hoo, I'd have loved the coffee machine, very envious of DS whilst we were there, so far managing to resist. Enjoy :) xxx
Peppapig that sounds like my sort of day, just perfect. I've heard a few people mention the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, if anybody sees it on please shout out so I can record it, think I've only seen it twice. Just found the channel number for the Christmas movie channel so will look into that tomorrow xxx
Pinklady oh my lovely, sending lots of love and gentle hugs. You poor things what an impossible position to find yourselves in. Sending positive vibes your way and hoping that the anticoagulants blast that clot very damn quickly xxx
