Off to work now. Nice late start today.
Sorry am going to bore you with one more pic. But I am so proud of it, and it worked. ( it is hooked to the clothes horse so she can't knock it over)
My fire guarded washing. No hairs. :j0 -
Thank you for the birthday wishes Freespirit, Nana, Blue eyed girl and OMO - had a nice day but can't believe how fast the years are passing now.
OMO, the pic of Mia and Robbie is lovely.
Pinklady - hope this all turns out well for you and I think Pigpen has hit the nail on the head - they have to warn you of the risks but 1% is really really low and no test or procedure is completely risk free. DD1 is coming to end of second pregnancy now (baby due end November but indications are that he won't be waiting that long) and it's been quite stressful enough without any of the additional things you've had to cope with. Thinking of you and sending lots of positive vibes your way.
Feisty - it's a difficult dilemma, do you pay someone and risk losing more money or do you reduce your opening hours and risk losing custom. I really wish I had an answer but I don't. I do think though that you should be careful with your proposed assistant - it's not a good start and it sounds to me like she could just be trouble. Not sure how formal the hiring of her was - presumably if she was PAYE for the previous owner (regardless of whether or not they were her parents) she would have transferred to you under TUPE - but please be careful and follow all HR processes i.e. verbal and written warnings so that you can get rid of her if it doesn't work out. I would have thought a formal warning would be appropriate for not turning up for an agreed session and not even letting you know. Good luck. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
hi everyone, been off for about a week due to illness and ds's musical activities. it should calm down for 2 weeks (although armistice is busy next sunday and have turned down 2 jobs for the Saturday night. 1 in Leeds and 1 in Stockport) but then I will be busy again for over a week with the preparations for The Scottish Open, which ds is doing with his Brass band.
We went to do a percussion comp on Saturday. ds came away with a 1st and a 3rd. then yesterday we did a concert with Fodens in Stoke-on-Trent.
Anyway, Flowfy(me) is getting right behind with Christmas prep and it is getting frustrating. dh is a nightmare to buy for. I am right behind in cooking for the freezer etc and haven't wrapped one thing or written one of the many Christmas cards.
I have recorded many Christmas films this weekend though and my skybox is on about 10% as I also have strictly and The Walking Dead to watch
The ironing is a mile high. have to take dh to Liverpool airport today,as he is going back to Switzerland for 2 weeks, so Flowfy is coping on her own again with all the shenanigans!
one of my cats (basil, ginger tom) was terrified this weekend, due to fireworks. we weren't in, but the cat flap was closed so he wasn't out. he doesnt' like using the cat litter tray house, so that probably upset him too. but he has been hiding under the table, won't have a cuddle and has been sick.:( the other 3 cats and the dog were fine though.
nanamia - I would try Christmas tree, in the yankee fragrance if you can find it, or the even older (discontinued) line, silver bells. you can still find it in some places. they are both dark green. also, something like Christmas cookie is nice burned in the kitchen, that is a white one.
I am hoping to keep up with the thread for a while. I like to read all the posts with a cup of tea, but then stuff I think I should comment on is a couple of days ago, and I think everyone will have moved on then
if anyone wears Pandora charms the Christmas range is out today and there are quite a lot0 -
I want a yankee that smells of bleach lol.
I love cranberry ice. They do a chocolate bunny this year! OH likes the vanilla cupcake and Christmas cupcake. The Christmas cookie is disgusting. The Halloween candy corn is lovely. Christmas eve is nice too.
I don't like Christmas tree it smells like cheap disinfectant.

Morning all,
Mum's christmas pressie is done and dusted and bought Hubby a book he saw in the W0rks he wanted. As he was there when we bought it, I'll label it from the cats :rotfl:
Made 2 more xmas cards over the weekend but need to buy some wider ribbon to finish off a third one.
Nothing more to report yet.0
