Looking for a bit of advice I'm hoping to get my two year old son the vtech innotab 3 does anyone on here have one or their child? Is it complicated for a two year old to use? Thanks in advance

I've got the 3s for my 3 y/o and the 2 for my 2 year old... they definitely won't have any issue.. the 3 year was showing the younger one how to play a game on the DSi earlier.. geek central my house!

They can both navigate the iphone 4s and 5 quite easily too.. and work the xbox!... and the external hard drive using the tv remote!

Well I've no excuse at all for being a lazy mooooo this week. BFF was off work (half term) and we've caught up :) Counrty Baskets and Bents on Monday, Wicked on Tuesday, coffee and just general natter Wednesday, Thursday is DGD2 day and Friday I was fit for nothing haha. Today we've had DGD2 and DD for breakfast and catch up then football this afternoon. I've done the very barest of minimum in the house and nothing in the way of Christmas preperation. I do have a list for tomorrow (to try and make amends) and will be back on track with you all. Well that's the plan Linky so if I've not posted a schedule for next weeks tasks please nag- I mean encourage :) xxx

Oh my word Linky what a week you've had. Your young man has come up trumps again hasn't he? Aww he is adorable, think we've all got a very soft spot for him :) And you of course for the wonderful job you've done :) Mia is very lucky to have found you all xxx (still can't believe that's her name!) Im the only Mia in the village! xxx
Murie my lovely I feel your pain with your DD off to uni. I remember when mine did and it blooming hurts, but it's great when they come home for weekends and holidays :) Before she's off you could hire her out to our Linky for her wrapping skills, although to be honest I don't think she's mentioned it yet this year xxx
Feisty some very sound advice once again from the lovelies. It's very, very early days yet get those business cards everywhere, I'm sure if you can up the footfall you'll get the sales you need. How is DH? Could he do the calls to the local papers etc? I'm sure he's desperate to be able to help out too xxx
Pinknfluffy bless your DD and her earrings, how very grown up :) Yeh for the positive signs in your business, it was so the right move for you all, I'm delighted its taking off, you so deserve it xxx
Kelly well done, congratulations on the new job. Go girl X
Kaya you too, I'm glad you are enjoying it xxx
Bunty it's Yankee Candle mania here isn't it? I tried a little tart to see what all the fuss was about and it was ok but I wasn't overly wowed. I'm going to have one more go, it's weird that I just don't get it! And now it's getting me mad- ha. Hope you are feeling a bit better and that your time with friends cheered you up :) X
Pigpen I do hope you are being kind to yourself amidst all your other roles. If you are wheezing and the borrowed inhaler worked you know what you have to do!!! Nag over :) Your organisation blooming amazes me X
Ellie_B I love the idea of using the cheap baubles as decoration on the wrapping, how clever. I may borrow that if that's ok, if I ever get around to,wrapping that is :) X
Mrs M what a clever girl you are, that stocking is amazing. A bigger photo would be great if you could please. Your friend is very lucky :) X
Bunbun glad you are starting to feel festive. Please don't be alarmed by the blood results, of course eating healthily until you see the diabetic nurse can't do any harm. But please don't panic, it really is doable xxx
Dollypop and Linky thank you yes Wicked was amazing, as we came out of the theatre BFF said exactly that Linky "I'll never look at the wizard of Oz the same way again" It was a really good night xxx
Msgigglewick :( sorry to hear about your rabbit. What a beautiful story about your DH, bless him he must be in such a better place this year. No wonder you are all going to have the best Christmas xxx
Blooming Tasty oh I do hope you are feeling better, tonsillitis is horrible xxx
Kev love the mugs, they look so professional. How clever. X
Nic a aargh blooming tesco. It's there loss :( I'm sure there is something perfect out there waiting for you but in the mean time keep making your fab crafts :) xxx
Kat360 yum that Oreo trifle looked delicious :) X
Crowdpleaser aww you poor little one. DGD1 broke her wrist falling down the stairs(aged 2.5) :( but it didn't stop her doing anything. They are so resilient aren't they. Sending her gentle hugs xxx
His missus welcome back, I can assure you that we are not ALL done! Some of the super geeks are but hey ho your always gonna get them :) haha xxx
Morgy hey my lovely don't be so hard on yourself. That counts as Christmas preperation in my eyes! Slow and steady wins the race :) Keep it up, you are doing great xxx
Blue eyed girl and Linda -Lou welcome back, looking forward to hearing all you Christmas chatter :) X
Choccymoose oh my word what an awful thing for you all. I'm so glad that everybody is ok, without your quick thinking it could have been horrendous. Sending gentle hugs and love to you all. Good news finding your thought lost forever vouchers :) xxx
Alja aww no what a shame you had to change your plans :( sounds like you still had fun tho :) Maybe try again next year? xxx
Mrsinvisible I blinking missed you before your jollys :( aargh what am I like. Wanted to wish you a very good time. I will need all the details when you return please. Hope DGS had a good birthday, 11 yrs that is so grown up xxx
Megan you are doing well, go girl X
Fluffysox you are indeed putting me to shame. New baby, toddler and everything and still managing to keep up on here. There really is no hope for me :) xxx

  • Good Morning all :santa2:

I haven't posted for ages but I have been reading through all the threads for weeks now & following everyone's festive adventures.
Just wanted to get on & say ~thank you~ to you all for your posts because it's because of these that I am the most organised I have ever been! I tend to catch up when there's 5mins spare at the beginning or end of the day, kinda like reading the paper or watching the news, only happier..... :snow_laug
So, here's a quick run down of where I am at...
    * I started in the Arg0s clearance around August time, picking up amongst other stuff a Hello Kitty bag & purse (RRP £19.99 for £6ish I think), A gold broach for the MIL (RRP £15 for less than a fiver), A paper Jamz guitar (RRP £10 for £3.50!) & lots of design a bear outfits all under half price. Also picked up OH, again less than half price, a steering wheel & games arcade toy that works with his Iphone.
*Then, during their 3for2 on toys sale, I managed to get both DDs their main presents of Lego.
*Inspired by the Americans & how they decorate every room beautifully, I ordered a poinsettia Christmas shower curtain from China & it's the one item I'm most delighted with! Was so worried that it wasn't going to show up or if it did, not be what I ordered but at around £11 including delivery, it arrived within 2 weeks & I have picked up accessories in the sales (new 'Christmas Red' towels ect) throughout the year to match.
    *:xmastree:Pot's Of Gold :xmastree:
    Such a genius idea!
About a week ago, I learnt that we are having guests for Christmas lunch & thought how lovely these would be as table settings & as a bit of extra entertainment.
In the run up to Halloween, I popped into poundland & picked up 10 of their cauldrons filled with sweets (emptied into bag & used for trick or treaters) & now they are waiting to be turned into pots of gold.
I may make some for the kids teachers & childminder too.
Hoping to pick up some cellophane from Lidl to wrap them all up in.
*Ordered 5 stocking sacks from Dotcomgiftshop reduced from £9.99 each to £3.95. These should last FOREVER!
*& finally!... went to Ikea yesterday. It is over an hours drive away so we only go maybe once a year but they have all their Christmas stuff out & we brought a red throw £3! Such a bargain for just adding a bit of festive colour to the living room during the
    winter months.
I did treat myself to a set of 6 small glasses with baubles on & matching tray :o but these will hopefully last for many years to come if I pack them away carefully.

    Still to do:
    *Pack away Halloween!!! :snow_laug
*Deep clean & sort out of every room.
*Make a start on teenage DSs stocking.
*Begin MILs 'our year in photos' scrap book.
*Think about other cheap crafty gifts for our guests. Pint of socks is right up there.
    *& breathe :snow_grin
Sorry about the long post... just had soO0Oo much I wanted to tell you all! :xmassign:

    Xmas Saver!
    Good Morning.
It's been very quiet on here this week. Only 14 pages. Hope it's just because everyone is busy with Christmas preps.

I am only giving myself 2 tasks this week. I feel that I need a little break. Off to London in 2 weeks, so am saving the pennies now. This week has just been mad.

Have had a hectic morning getting nothing done. Robbie has another cold, Mia can't understand why we haven't had our normal play in the garden. ( I throw the empty bottle, she goes mad).
Ds took her for a very quick walk before going to football, and will take her again for a longer one when he gets back. I was going to take her with Robbie, but he is sooo grizzly. I am only on here because he has just fallen asleep. I will do the evening walk unless dd offers. ( she it at a friends all day)

I am down to needing 3 gifts-
A calendar for my Gt Aunt
Boxer Shorts from M&S for my Dad
2 t-shirts from Footlocker for DS.

I am hoping to get them all in London, so should be finished in a fortnight. I'll probably try to wrap a couple of presents this week, but am not making it a task. I can't take the pressure. :rotfl:

If anyone is buying a bike for Xmas, then Poundland have bike gift wrap bags to wrap the bike up in! (I think it is basically a big xmas themed bag) but looks like a good idea.

I ordered this book from Amazon a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to have a quick look today and am very pleased with it:

There are loads of different towns / cities to chose from. I thought that the front page might just say Chesterfield, but it mentions lots of different areas in Chesterfield.

We all have to get Nanamia to like Yankee Candles! Lol

I am feeling better today but very tired. I feel guilty, but I am not going to go to the gym as I would normally do today as I just don't have the energy. Had a lovely time with friends last night so I am just going to have a quiet day and do a bit of that admin I need to do for work. Think I might have to review my gym membership!
