    Welcome back Lindy-Lou

Choccymoose - Oh hunny, thank goodness you are all ok. What a horrible thing to happen. Big hugs x

Does anyone know when the first showing of cola "holidays are coming" ad is this year? I know its usually during November, during xfactor, and I also know it has been gradually getting earlier.
Our family tradition is that once we see the first showing we can start playing xmas music, talking about xmas freely, and possibly most importantly - bake the first batch of mince pies!

.... am getting impatient though :rotfl:

bunbun DH is right don't stress out for the time being about your diet you will only end up making yourself feel emotionally worse finding out you are diabetic is a big shock and can be quite depressing but it really isn't that big of a deal just means you need to have to have a look at your lifestyle. Now my biggest advice is don't change everything at once sugar wise because that can be just as dangerous. We don't count our carbs because mum is type 2 and controls hers with metformin and diet so we keep to eating few ready meals and takeaways which is brilliant for the budget. I'm also hazarding a guess that you've already bought your sweet treats for Christmas if I were you I'd enjoy this Christmas as normal and start a fresh in the new year, that's what our nurse told us anyway. I'll send you more specifics when you need them.

Remember you are not alone I'm happy to share our tips :)

    Love and hugs to all

Wish me luck work all day today with the formings of a headache so cocodamol taken

Thank you Amey. I think the biggest thing to get my head round is doing more exercise and losing some weight to try and get the level down. These are all things I should have done ages ago and kept putting off. My problem is if I put it off I won't start. I am going to cut out sweet things (not sugar just cakes, biscuits, etc). I will still eat my Christmas choc but not go mad. I may cut down the carbs too. It won't do me any harm to watch what I eat. I hope you have had a good day at work and your head is better.

ruth/choccymoose I was brought up in a tiny village called Far Oakridge between Stroud and Cirencester, We tended to go more to Cirencester than Stroud. I went to secondary school in Eastcombe. I loved living there with all the fields and woods to play in. Not sure I would have like it as a teenager though, we moved when I was 12.

fluffysox look after yourself and hope you feel better soon

Woken up feeling not too great this morning. Was going to some admin for work but really not feeling right :(

Soooo, going to do some cooking as we've got friends coming over (it's ok, I've nothing contagious!) and mooching round the house. Made Christmas Puds when I was off this week, wrapped a couple of presents and might do some cards if I get time later.

Hopefully seeing friends later will perk me up a bit!

    Xmas Saver!
    Good Morning (just)

Nearly finished making the house dog friendly. I am going to have to get a fire guard to go around the clothes airer. It is the only way I can think of keeping the clothes hair free.

I got up this morning to find the front door wide open. Mia was at the bottom of the stairs as normal. We are now going to have to double lock the door, as she can open it. She'd had obviously been out there as one of her toys was on the path. But on a positive note she didn't run away. :)

Chocs Glad you are all ok. :)

What a good girl Mia was not running away. you must have got a shock OMO.
I have just had to order the tee shirt from BM so thank you.
Love love love the lion from build a bear. I wish I had a small child to buy it for.
Still not hit the shops but planning to go next week and get some more presents. Can not believe it is just eight weeks to go. I was getting my hair done yesterday and someone mentioned Christmas. One of the girls was like stop speaking about it it's ages away. She could not believe that I had most of my shopping done. She looked at me as if I was mad. If she knew about all of us she would have a fit!!

I just ordered wool for the rowan one for OH from the linky.. so doing one for the pixie while I wait for it.

I just on a bundle of 101 pairs of needles on ebay... :o:o:o:o

I defrosted my little freezer today so I could move the remaining bits from the freezer in the shed into the house so I can start filling the one outside with Christmas yummies..

how well do mince pies freeze? and scones? .. They never last long enough to freeze in here but I'd like to do Christmas ones now.. and maybe yorkies too.. and I might do the gravy too.

I have a large piece of pork in there and lots of air!! I will fill it with bread tomorrow.. they will think I am loopy in the shop no doubt, buying 100 loaves.
