That is fab, I'm sure someone with a 'normal' family would love that but as it happens, two of his children don't talk to my grandad or partner (I put Nan for simplicity, my children call his partner Nan, I call her by her name)Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
noodles86 Just wondered if you (or anyone else...) had tried the cherry candy canes ? I love cherry and the look of candy canes but hate mint
I have no idea on taste I bought them as I liked the colour of them than the ones at poundland. The red is more vibrant! Though no idea what flavour the poundland ones were. I would eat one but I really want to keep them for the tree! If I do break in, I'll let you know!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -

Do your parents talk to them ?
You could do a direct line one. Just them, your parents, you, dh and the girls.0 -

Nope! It goes as far as I've been seeing them in secret for the past two and a half years. Long story but my mother decided when I was 18 she no longer wanted contact. I was very self absorbed and selfish (feel awful about it now!!!) and weren't bothered so went along with it. When I was 24 I got back in contact with them and carried on a relationship behind my mums back. She would go off like a rocket if she knew!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
I have taken a half day holiday from work this afternoon as I had to take DD out of school to a medical appointment, and to cheer her up we went shopping afterwards. After being talked into/conned into buying her a pair of jeans, a pair of trousers and two jumpers I have also bought :-
THE DISNEY STORE - This years Disney bauble, and a large Disney xmas shopping bag (yeyyy was on my "to do" list). I also bought two disney mugs as gifts, and the accompanying gift boxes (not on list)
HOME BARGAINS - Hubbys toffee/toffee hammer (on list)
DUNHELM - 2 xmas hand towels (on list = got 1 snowman and 1 holly) and Xmas Crackers (werent on list but should have been)

Mrsinvisible- such great news, big hugs to you
OMO- hope your feeling better
Feisty- love the dresser, you've covered all the songs I can think of but if you want to drive some people crazy add a few from the muppet christmas carol soundtrack :-)
Noodles- I didn't think about the tree and a 1 year old, may have to do the same.
We had an interesting weekend away, terrible weather in a caravan meant no sleep as ds wasn't very happy. Did go to colchester zoo and dragged dh to home bargains, wasn't that impressed but got a few bits and had to pop into dunelm as it was there and got a nice Xmas shapes choc mould. Went to Southends sealife adventure which was great and managed to find a lidl for my choc :T
Car did break down but luckily were packed up and on way to mil's as couldn't stand anymore sleepless nights so got towed and dh fixed it on the drive, so not as bad as could have been.
Hope everyone is good and feeling very Christmassy x0 -
debndot sorry you had such a bad time. It did rain here though didn't it !
Fiesty I seem to have missed a page and only just seen your list. My 2 fave Christmas songs are missing.
The Power of Love - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Eta (I'll protect you from the hooded claw:rotfl:)
Christmas Wrapping- The Waitresses
ETA ignore the above, I just saw them. But I didn't see Baby it's Cold Outside by Tom Jones. Got to have some Tom Jones in there.0 -
pinknfluffy hope your new all singing and all dancing oven is everything you want, i'll take any recommendations as we'll be oven shopping soon!
Feisty good luck with the new shop! Thanks also for posting that Christmas song list, I've been meaning to do one for ages so i'm going to go through it later and see what I haven't got, i'll add any if I think of any.
BBTHREE I'm enjoying Emmerdale so far this week, it was exciting tonight! We can't wait for Cain to come back and sort it all out!I agree with Nanamia that they don't half drag some story lines out, but we're getting our rewards now. We've now just got to wait for the Jai and Rachel story to come out.... I'm lucky because I got DH into it and now he loves it too! :T
Crowdpleaser I save a little bit into a savings account each month and it really does make a difference so I would recommend it. Good deal with the Wii!
Fluffysox good luck with the new arrival, keep us posted!
pixtotts thanks for letting me know about the pudding doorstop in Dunelm, I shall keep my eye out. I'm reading PS. I Love You at the moment and i'm enjoying it, i'm two thirds of the way through and it's not a lovey dovey story yet - but i'm sure there's probably something towards the end!
mrsinvisible what brilliant news! I am really pleased to hear that - what a fab early Christmas present!
ALJA the food hampers for your friends a great idea, I think food always goes down well and you can put something in for everyone.
OMO sorry to hear you've got the lurgy, I think it's difficult to avoid at the moment!I hope it doesn't hang around too long.
Baby boo have a fab holiday!
Hello Trendyjenny :santa2: good to hear from you, hope everything is ok with you?0 -
Princesskitty - Not watched tonights Emmerdale yet. I am just heading upstairs for a shower and then will catch up all taped soaps in bed. It's been hard tonight to make myself stay downstairs and do cleaning and boring stuff when I know the soaps are all so exciting this week xxAims for 2014

I have now got reindeer cam on and am watching the reindeer sleep
I went shopping in Tesco last night and picked up some chocolate bits and pieces - lots of Cadburys snowman mousse chocolates and some Lindt snowflakes. I also picked up some choccies for Halloween. I'm going to make a themed dinner again for DH, last year we had witches hair and eyeballs (spaghetti and meatballs) and some orange pumpkin shaped jelly. Then I made him watch Hocus Pocus but he wasn't impressed, so today I ordered The Addams Family - i'm sure he'll like that! I know, I know it's only DH and I so i'm probably being a bit childish, but I do enjoy doing themed things.
I didn't get around to it last year but this year i'm determined to make us a Christmas Eve hamper (or a Christmas Eve eve hamper as we'll be at his parents on Christmas Eve) but i'm trying to think of a film to put in it that he'd like. It goes without saying i'd enjoy pretty much any Christmas film but I want him to enjoy it too. Ones we've already got and seen are:
Elf
The Home Alone's
The Muppets Christmas Carol
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Jingle All The Way
The Polar Express
I've been considering Nativity, or Arthur Christmas? I've heard Arthur Christmas is funny? He would enjoy an animation if it was funny. Does anyone have any other suggestions?0
