Feisty, how about 2000 miles by the Pretenders or Girls Aloud.
For those who've not got an android tablet. I've found an app called music maniac. you can download pretty much any tune free! I've just been trough and downloaded loads of Christmas tunes, mainly chilled out ones by Scala and Kolachny Brothers and Hayley Westenra, put them together and made a Christmas play list.
I've then copied these to my PC then copied again to a usb stick for my car so now I can have Christmas tunes where ever I go:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug
Drives everyone else nuts and I get funny looks when I pull up next to them in the car and there,s me singing along. Even had it playing when I went to the gym yesterday!0 -
Candy canes are £1 in wilkos too, think they're the normal flavour.
Went into town today and I was disappointed. Couldn't find any nice red fluffy socks, no reindeer beer in sainsburys (been to 3 now and none had it!!), wanted some cheap candle tart burner but couldn't find any of those either.
However managed to pick up some discontinued Yankee tarts and samplers and some cheap 4 picture aquadoodles. Saw lots of coca cola stuff in BHS, can't remember who wanted some of those for hampers. Oh and still looking for some cheap foot cream....
It's such a nice day here today, put washing out, took the dog for a nice long walk too. Got a little bit of time to catch up before the school run.
Hope everyone is having a good day0 -
I've found a perfectly sized box for my bath hamper - something used by our internet service provider to send a new modern. I've lined the inside with a metalic silver paper and will wrap the outside with probably a black and silver one [when I settle on one I like]. I have black tissue paper and white tissue paper to use to keep everything safe inside, so hopefully it will end up looking at least half decent lol.0

Freespirit what a downer for ds. Is he ok ?
The company that trained my ds phoned and asked for his NI number 4 weeks ago, and we had heard nothing since.
Well I have the lurgy ( I have no idea how to spell that. )

Hope you feel better soon x

So need ideas for my grand parents who have everything and need nothing :rotfl: they had pics of the kids last year in a frame. They dont really do much other than go to the radio society (which I think is looking at pictures!) and bird feeding lol.
I asked mil for ideas for her family and she did fab
So;
mil - an insulated cup with a handle (she works in a school)
her partner - a small compact unbrella that can fit in a laptop case but he might get this himself between now and then but if not i'll get something fishing for him
I'm also giving them some photo coasters but just have to get nice pics of the 4 grandkids first! Also going to make them some 'art' with my two
FIL & his partner - not sure but will probably be a sweetie hamper
DH's bro & wife - movie hamper, £10 voucher, £10 worth of popcorn & sweets (already spent £3 today)
DH's sis - no idea and she's a very fussy girl so will wait for her to tell me what!
DH's nanna (I asked about her on here, she's 82 or 83and is starting chemo in a week) my mil said she would love me and eldest to make her a cake! So I'm going to make her a different cake a month for the year
will prob get the kids to paint her a pic on canvas too.
Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Freespirit, it must be really disheartening for your poor DS but he's getting good feedback and I'm sure it will all come right for him soon. Unfortunately some companies have someone in mind for their vacancy but their HR policy is that they have to advertise and so even if the external candidate does really well they still don't get it. I know it's to make it 'fair' but in reality it doesn't.:(
Feisty - hope the shop is going well, the dresser was lovely. Love your music list - you've covered all my favourites there.
OMO - saw the stag lamp in Asda on Monday and thought of you. I must admit it was pretty splendid and if I had somewhere to put it I may well have succumbed to temptation. When I take things home OH usually says 'Do you have somewhere in mind for that or shall I just put it straight in the loft to save time?' :rotfl: I have turned over a new leaf though and am now selling/giving to charity shop and not buying for the home!
Nana - you must be very busy, you're very quiet. Hope everything is ok.
Pixtotts - as far as I know compensation for RTA comes from the insurance company although we all pay in the end with increased premiums of course. Hope it's nothing too serious.
Mrs Invisible - sorry it's a bit late but congratulations on your wonderful news, what a lovely early Christmas pressie.
No progress on Christmas planning today but putting finishing touches to pamper hampers if all goes according to plan this week. Has anyone used the cello bags that you heat with a hairdryer so they shrink onto the hamper? I'm thinking of trying one but at just under £2 a time I don't know if they're worth it.
Only 70 days and 7 hours to go - woo hoo! So many pressies, so little timeIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Waiting til DH get's paid on Friday and then I'll be searching out some of the bargains mentioned on here. I've missed the Morrisons sweet offer but can anyone tell me if they'll still be £4 in Asda over the weekend?
Unless they go on offer between now and the weekend then it's not looking good - http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml?referrer=cookiesDetecting#listing/New_IM_ListingPage_Top_promo_1/New_IM_ListingPage_Middle_promo_1/New_IM_ListingPage_Bottom_promo_1/1215257178346/New_IM_ListingPage_ProductModule_promo_1/noms_home-promo-btm_131003-Halloween&0 -
