  • Cant remember who asked but popped in primark earlier, theyve got crocodile onesies and superhero onesies for men, theres a few other animal ones too, the christmas jumpers are also out :) lots of nordic stuff about this year, theyve got some lovely bedsets in it, i might treat myself soon, hope everyones present buying is going well x
  • Well, after a marathon session, I have finally caught up with you all, boy can you all gas!

Need to try and focus on where I am and need to go now, although I did buy my mum & brother the christmas pudding hats from Primarni. We always buy something cheap, silly and which could be used, although I suspect that death could be imminent when they see them!

I have really got to address my kitchen cupboards over the next night or 2, I have so much crockery etc that I need to lose but a local homeless charity is desperate for stuff and will be having a collection point this weekend, so I need to box up, sort out linen (currently replacing, all old, but in good nick) and hand it over. I can then look at stocking up again with food.

I have no idea on what to get my mum, have ordered John Bishop's book as she likes him, but stuck otherwise, any suggestions for the woman who says she doesn't need anything?

    Welcome to all the newbies

Hugs, congrats and lots of thanks for suggestions, support and laughs to you all :D

Drops of Jupiter, PrincessKitty is right about the Nigella cake. When you read the recipe you will think it will never work but it has NEVER failed me yet:j

My name is because when I became a school nurse everyone began calling me "Nitty Nora" the dicky explorer.:eek: (Not sure if this may be a Northern thing????)

Another word for dickies is nits so...
    Nit nurse-Not
The 2 is because I had previously registered and forgot log in etc so has to add a number to my name:rotfl:

    Keep on elfing

What a great idea. I'm so glad you mentioned this. We're about to replace our crockery and I doubt the charity shop would take it because there are pieces missing or a tiny chip on the edge, but a homeless shelter may well need them. Even if it's only for the extra people they'll be feeding over winter. I'll find out where our local one is and call them. Thank you.

I'm a bit stuck on ideas for my mum too. She did ask me to pick up some hair dye from the 99p shop if I saw them, so I might make a hamper from that. Add colour protecting shampoo and conditioner, maybe a decent hairbrush and a new head towel? It's hard for some people, isn't it? Her birthday is new years day, but I think I've sorted that. Bought a cute hand made necklace on holiday. She came into the shop when I was paying and thought I was buying it for myself and offered to pay for it, so I had to own up that it was for her! Hopefully she will forget by January, though. :)

Nativity arrived today. :T Was pleased with the condition of it. Sometimes DVDs from Blockbuster marketplace can have damaged boxes or writing on the disc because they're ex rental, but this one looks good. :) Might have to 'test' it before giving it to DH. ;)

Oh, and I'm not mad keen on Christmas pudding or cake either. I think it's the mixed peel that puts me off. And I hate cherries! I've gotten keen on mince pies in the last couple of years, though. Much nicer when warmed up. And with brandy butter! I do love mulled wine. And mulled cider. I sound like a right boozer now...lol!

  • Wondering if anyone can help me. Last year I seen on here that M&S had their Christmas Tree biscuit tin reduced from £10 to £5 and so bought a few for presents. They were well received and I would like to buy them again this year. Not even fussed if the price stays at £10 as they were well worth the money, however I don't see the people that I bought them for very often and don't know if this years design is the same as last year.

Did anyone buy one last year....

Does it look the same as this...

Freespirit He's fine with them. Greenleaf was hanging up for about 6 weeks before he noticed him last year. He actually walked into him when he was hanging on the Welsh dresser.
I expect he use to him now, and as they are all white they don't stand out too much.

Eta mind you he wasn't too keen on trying ' a toasted chocolate sandwich'

    Thanks...xx

Different design and tune. Last years was 'Deck the Hall' whereas this years is 'Jingle Bells' and a different tin. HTH
