Gettingtherequickly hiya welcome home :) you sound like you managed to have a good time regardless of the restricts. How did the little ones enjoy there treats? xxx

I am still attempting to catch up on this but must let you know about one of the presents. The little fella is obsessed with animals and was desperate to have a pig, but they couldn't get one. He was beside himself when he opened his bag and found mummy and baby and his sister found her pony. They went everywhere, I even have a photo of them on the kids swimming floats floating across the pool, that is surreal especially as I used the long distance lens so got in really close:rotfl:
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Hello everyone! I've just caught up again, really wish I could post more often and reply to everyone's messages :( anyways, smiles and hugs to you all!

My jobs to do last week were: to look on Pinterest for Christmas party ideas - which I did! :) ...still going to look for more though!

And to list what I already have and what I still need to buy - I did this too, but as some of you may remember, I simply couldn't be bothered to shop at the weekend and had a much needed relaxed weekend instead.

I received my replacement (free extra!) order from S*perdrug yesterday, so I have plenty of sweets for my Christmas party spread & prizes, as what I ordered ended up being doubled up for free!

I spent Monday evening cutting up magazine pages, I've decided I'm going to make a paper chain from them :) I picked out colours like red, gold, black, purple, green etc. - I just hope it looks as good as I think it will!? Maybe I'm mad!? Just trying to make the rest of my party decor, present and food buying as affordable as possible from here on in really - so ideas welcome!

So, tasks for this week are:

Check my Christmas spreadsheet (add on the sweets!) and look at what to buy next for presents and party - hopefully cut the list down a little (especially with the party food, as I often have too much!)

Look up thrifty ways of making my party great fun but more affordable!

P.S. I love the sound of the 2 for £7 chocolate tins, but not sure I'll be able to get to Mr M's anytime soon :( ..we shall see!

    Xmas Saver!
I made chocolate cake in a sandwich maker today ! :j
It is the first cake I have ever made ! :D
    I don't bake .
But even I can add an egg and and water to a mix and pour it in the sandwich maker. It only takes 3 to 4 minutes to cook.

I have got everything for DDs Movie hamper.

I also bought The Old Man and sprayed him white. He did look nice brown, but just not in my lounge.
( he is on a piece of papers while he drys.)

  • Hi all! I had intended to catch up and post at work this week when I had some downtime but for some reason I can't sign in at work any more. :( I managed to catch up but had to keep writing down the post number I had got to as I couldn't thank anyone! Anyway, i'm caught up now.

freespirit i'm feeling much better now thank you, thanks for asking.

kaya1991 I do enjoy going around the shops at Christmas to soak up the atmosphere, although I prefer it when i'm just browsing and only buy if I come across something, rather than having a list and being under pressure to get it all!

choccymoose good on your son bless him, you must be so proud!:)

weeclick sorry to hear you're poorly, are you feeling any better at all now? Sometimes it's frustrating being at home ill isn't it as you can't get on with anything!

pinksteps sorry to hear that your son didn't have the news he wanted, but there's a lot to say for determination and it sounds like he has it. I hope for his sake that he will be back dancing as he wants to.

Nanamia and BBTHREE how exciting to hear of fellow Emmerdale fans! There's not a lot of things I have to watch on TV but Emmerdale is one of them! I think Cameron breaks out at the end of this week. :DBBTHREE my bathroom is due to start being installed the week after next so watch this space! I'm not a natural with interior design so I've been struggling to buy all of the elements separately without seeing them together first. I know what you mean about the Boots catalogue, I was a bit disappointed but can't put my finger on why.

springdreamsmI hope your exam went well, how do you think you got on?

dropsofjupiter I don't like Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, mince pies or mulled wine!! I really feel like i'm missing out on a piece of Christmas and really wished I liked them but I just can't stand them! I have started doing alternatives though; I make mulled cider instead, Nigella has a great recipe for a something called a 'Holiday Hot Cake' which is a hot spiced pudding without any fruit in which tastes Christmassy and is a good alternative to Christmas pudding, and this year I am going to make mini apple pies to munch on in place of mince pies. Hopefully will be yum!

fluffysox what an exciting time for you with a baby on the way! You'll have to keep us updated with your progress.

Crowdpleaser I'm keeping everything crossed for your sale too, it can be stressful can't it? Hopefully you'll be able to get your tinsel in a tangle in a new house this year! :D

OMO good job on the Old Man. How did the cake in the sandwich maker work out? This made me smile! How do people think to do this in the first place? What a stroke of genius.

Hello KatieBee and pigpen! :santa2: Welcome.
