  • Well I am no good at this Lego feeling - I got a Scientist - mistook the goblet for the Gingerbread cup!!! I bought a few extra treats for my Xmas cupboard yesterday and now need to sort everything out. I need to wrap DD2's birthday presents so that will then make room for the Xmas stuff. Ive checked and I have all my cards and wrapping paper. I will be ordering some presents from Smyths tonight so that will make a difference x
  • ChrissyG, that's great news. We are stuck in chain hell at the moment!

Murie, you must be very proud! well done!

Well dd1 who is 5 came out of school and said she had a tummy ache. She does this a lot though and Im very much a 'if you ignore it they will forget about it' person. Anyway, was just on phone to dh saying dd1 didn't feel well when she got up looked very frightened and then was suddenly sick everywhere! Poor girl.

She says she feels a lot better now and looks better. The school insists on 48 hours off school though so nowt for her til Thursday now! Hopefully I can take one day off work and dh will take one.

Anyway, chrimbo wise Ive just ordered a cheap zhu zhu pets thing off Tesco to pick up Wednesday. dd2 has the attention span of a gnat so watching those daft things whizzing round should keep her amused for a bit!

God I hope she doesn't vom in bed tonight. Vom in bed has to be the worst! x

    Weight Loss - 33lbs lost 9lbs to go :)
  • Think another 2pages were added in the time i was trying to catch up, think i need a task this week of learning to read faster.

Hope everyone's children and loved ones start to feel better soon, always seems to be lots more bugs go round once the wether changes and kiddie winks go bk to school.

Speaking of kiddie winks there, must be some very proud parents on here, your children sound so clever and considerate.

Sequeena the £1shop sell Thomas DVDs, slightly cheaper than thomasland shop.

Hanley25 I am also planning on doing gardening hampers, my parents are movin house &new house has a greenhouse so doin a gardening hamper for stepdad and another for dd's so they can be grandads little helpers, hopefully all the gardening stuff won't have disappeared off shelves yet and can nab a few bargains
  • Okay, I can't get the flipping hang of this multi-quote thing - anybody know the maximum you can quote as mine keep getting cut off :( Will now inundate you with posts!

Just popping in quickly. Made a start on making my Christmas stock this weekend, as well as finishing 9 card orders. I've got an order for a massive stationery Order, needing finished by end of October which is very short notice, so everything else is on hold until then!

Ooo what is this stationary order you talk of? Like Nana I have a bit of a fetish for stationary, and am eager to know what this is all about!

Morning all, just caught up before heading out to work. Long day today 9.45-8 then straight to my slimming world group so won't be home til after 9. Not much Christmas time at all today. But it will keep my spirits up on a tough day (I currently do not like my job or the hours I have to work and I'm going in today to tell them I don't want to do the extra work they put me through training for last week) wish me luck. I'll have a proper catch up tonight if I can stay awake. Must get a wriggle on xxx

I'm so sorry you don't like your job :( I hope all went well with your talk and that brighter things are on the horizon!

    Morning all,
We have a meeting later today at the local college to discuss a foundation placement for dd so fingers crossed they can offer her a place !

Christmas wise she wants a goth hamper:eek: ive bought her a purple and silver plastic goblet with skulls on from the £1 shop and Ive seen some zombie blood shower gel and a coffin shaped make up bag with black make up in it .

I'm hoping to get my Christmas cards written and then send them with my nieces birthday card in a large envelope by the end of this week.

Keeping everything crossed Chrissy! I would get yourself to superdrugs as they have their own brand called MUA - red and black nail varnishes, purple eye shadows and black liquid liner all for £1 each would be perfect for the goth hamper! Also you would have time to get some cheap goth jewellery on ebay from china - these go for pennies and usually have free postage!

Fiesty- I agree with everyone on here-try not to have too many plates spinning at once _hard I know but some things are controllable and others will play out as they will- you cant change things out of your control. I feel for you about your friends pregnancies- we 'tried' for 6 years after having my DS ( a horrendous pregnancy) with numerous tragedies before we had our DD. I have endometriosis and a low progesterone level so couldn't support a pregnancy. It was heartbreaking so I know how you feel. BUT -things do work out in the end- we found we were pregnant with our DD and went full term after many many false scares. When the time is right, and you are both more settled health wise, time wise and emotionally then as Nana says-who knows what may happen?

It is stories like this that fill me with hope :) Thank you x

Nothing Christmassy but I gotta shout this from the rooftops cus I am soooo proud!
My DD (17) has been working with a mentor from Cambridge uni on a project offered to 'outstanding pupils' which was marked using the undergrad grading system- she is at her awards ceremony today and has just rung me to tell me she got a First!!! (she says she 'just 'scraped through with a first but she still did it!). She has worked hard on this and I am so pleased that she has achieved such a brilliant grade (didn't find out the grades til today-even school organiser didn't know).
Sorry- I'm not crowing I am just so bloody proud I could burst!!!
Right- outburst over_ I am off to hospital with my sis

Junior J-got my fingers crossed for you xxx

FANTASTIC! :T What a super star :) And don't feel like you are crowing, you should be proud :D
Murie - aw you must be so proud, and rightfully so! Well done

Snugglebunny- thank you, it was good for me to hear your story, I realize now that the children won't miss out at all, their Nana is amazing, as is my fil. They are all the grandparents they need.

Having a down day, I've been snappy & moody, but dh assures me it is nowhere near as bad, and he for one is over the moon with the meds. I guess that today is just a normal, female off day!
Omo my studio order has come and I have wrapped my neice and nephews pressies! Yeh, task completed on day 1, so my new task to self is to have all extended family pressies wrapped this week!

Sending you great big *hugs* down days are normal, but after your weekend I'm not surprised!

Can you all please keep an eye out for any cheap Christmas mugs landing instore!!? Many thanks, last year I got some from B&M but always looking for other options incase they don't get them in again! Thank you xx

Someone mentioned (sorry I can't remember who) that they had KEEP CALM & DONT GET YOUR TINSEL IN A TWIST mug in the 99p store which could work?

Sequeena I can't wait to see Thomas dressed up as the Milkybar kid - you really should audition him as he is adorable and I can definitely see him as the milky bar kid! x

Woo hoo Pinknfluffy after the weekend you've had I'm not surprised you are having an off day! But a 'normal' to be expected one :) Are you teachers pet? Weeks task completed by lunchtime on day one! Whhaaatt xxx

Linky and Pinksteps I can sense moose making! Will it over take Lego feeling mania. Time will tell :) go girls, wish I lived nearer and could join the fun xxx

Mrs Hayes glad your LO is brighter today, children amaze me the way they shrug off ailments that send me sniffling to bed :) xxx

Well I can honestly say that is the first time I have ever been called a teachers pet! My reports were always 'could do better' and 'never stops talking' so I will hold on proudly to my new title for a while! (My organizational skills amaze even me this year though I must admit!)

My local £land has got Xmas mugs with little teddies in them! I got a Santa, a reindeer and a snowman last week, they're quite sweet just as little stocking fillers or teachers gifts, I'm going to pop a couple of Ferraro chocs in each of mine too for teacherss
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

I called Child Tax Credits today. I was armed with every piece of paper regarding DS and ready for another confrontation only to get a really nice man on the other end of the phone who took the details, authorised payments, backdated claim and told me DS is entitled to CTC until he is 20!!
I am still feeling sick with shock. After being told before that I was not entitled to a thing and having his £120 a week cut this has been a blessing.
Im still going to budget better though in case anything like this happens again.

So glad it is all sorted :) I would say to complain, but sadly it probably won't get you anywhere :(

Well christmas peeps my 10yr old son has been ill over the weekend. He had an horrendous temperature that was still over 39 after calpol and ibuprofen so took him to gps today and he has got a bad case of strep throat. he had this 3 years ago but ended up hospitalised with scarlet fever from it. He is now lay on the couch fully dosed up watching tv. No school for him this week so not much wrapping being done here.

OMO- my task for this week is to clear out the kids toys and clothes. I am going to get rid of broken/old toys and put summer clothes away and give away any clothes/shoes that are too small.
Also I am going to write my special christmas cards x

Your poor son, I really hope he recovers soon :(

freespirit66- we are on very dangerous ground. I am making brownies for my friend, later this week, who is going to her mother in laws and wants to pass them off as her own, lol. I always think the outer ones aren't as nice and I won't give her them so I am hoping to resist.

also. promised dh that I will make mary berrys mince pie loaf, this weekend, as he loved it last year. I hope that lasts till he gets home :o

I would eat the walnut whips.....they are going to call to you, until you do. just get it out of the way!!!

Oooo this mince pie loaf sounds amazing! Am very tempted to make one :) Will have to hunt the recipe out!
