  • Thank you Nanamia, he has an awful runny nose which he is wiping on everything but apart from that. Although he has managed to give it to me so I'm on the nasal spray hoping I might ward it off lol.

  • Sequeena - we took our DSs to Thomas land last year and whilst they loved it it was extremely expensive. DHs parents had given them money to spend in the shop and we had to put money to it as when we looked they couldn't really afford anything. We did use tesco vouchers to get the tickets so can't really complain about that although it was a long drive from where we live. Kids loved it which was the main thing I suppose!

  • I was similarly glum as bloody Vettel won the Grand Prix and lewis only 5th :( ... dont need to ask where he gets it from then!! xx

We were at my husband's brothers house yesterday so recorded the grand prix, but when I heard the results I couldn't be bothered to watch it! :( I did go and see Rush on Saturday night though - it was an absolutely amazing film!!

Princess hope your bathroom is coming along now, did you manage to replace the cooker too? I love lakeland - it is my favourite shop, I'm not very often allowed in tho:( DH knows what will happen. Some things do seem expensive I know but often I've seen the idea in there and looked else where for it! There baking stuff can't be beaten tho it has a lifetime guarantee, I've slowly built my collection. I can not believe the throws in primark are £10! No way! I know they were nice last year but I'm sure they were £5. xxx

Thanks Nanamia, we have most things for the bathroom now just have to wait for it to be done. We're away in Scotland next week then we're going to get a new cooker when we came back. I agree about Lakeland, I buy their bakeware and am slowly building up a collection, but with other things I just get the idea then buy them elsewhere.
  • BBTHREE funnily enough I was only thinking about you the other day and that we haven't seen you on here in ages, it's good to hear from you. Just keep popping on when you can, we know it's not always easy when there are things going on in life. x
  • Ugh I seem to have picked up a little cold, sore throat and nose and just no energy. I am on the sofa under a blanket, I think I will try to look at my Christmas spreadsheet and also have a nose through the online Christmas shops.

:jYeah I have made a list for last week - now onto this week.

    Cupboard tasks this week!

I have a cupboard in the utility room which I randomly stuff Xmas related goodies into, by the end of this week I will have cleared it out and sorted, listed what is in there and transferred contents of my car boot into it (my boot is also full of Xmassy stuff!) and also added these items to my lists.

I will also clear through the food cupboards and throw ouit out of date stuff at the back.

OMO I feel more in control now I have written things down so I thank you.

    Take care all x
  • Murie that is wonderful! many congrats to her!!! all that hard work has paid off and you should all enjoy it, really chuffed for her and for you :) xxxxxx

hope you are ok PrincessKitty! Im afraid that is 3 F1 GPs Ive not fully watched in a row now, it isnt good for the sport to have such dominance although I dont agree with the booing and I dont think it is either BRB or Vettels fault, it is up to the others to catch up and challenge him, or at least poach Adrian Newey LOL! if the WDC is won with several races to go people will just switch off like in the Schumacher era :( was so exciting for a few years especially when Lewis first came into the sport, hope they can jazz it back up for 2014!

PinknFluffy mine miss their wonderful late grandparents but we talk about them all the time, it is the loving family that spend time with them that kids always remember in my view, not something they didnt have, and you and your family sound fantastic, and your kids sound very happy! :)

Good luck today Junior J! xxx

Ive done all my lists, checked all my boxes and bags and put all the chocolate goodies in one box so I know exactly what Ive got. My Ocado shop has £10 worth of free chocolates in it (the £10 voucher they sent me to spend on choccies!) which are gifts for kids, DH and my Mum, Ive ordered a 2nd pack of pasta and a 2nd pack of 6 x tins of cat food for the January cupboard and also a 2nd pack of sweet chilli crackers, so made a start!
  • Can you all please keep an eye out for any cheap Christmas mugs landing instore!!? Many thanks, last year I got some from B&M but always looking for other options incase they don't get them in again! Thank you xx
  • OMO- what a lovely gesture by your son, you must be so proud. Isnt it great when you have a sort out and find some things that you forgot about.

Fiestyfidget- Im so sorry to hear the black dog is visiting you. Big hugs to you, its understandable with everything that’s going on at the moment but keep coming on here to chat and share. We will all help you chase it away.

Hanley – gardening hampers sound great. My daughter is 3 and just starting to get interested in gardening( she dead heads the flowers at my dads house) Im doing her a baking hamper. I managed to get her a lovely gingerbread man apron, hat oven glove and tea towel set from b&m for £3.99 so am on the look out for nice mixing bowl and spoon.

Kelly7 – what a fantastic idea, I always watch a Christmas dvd to put me in the Christmas spirit

Katmum- I am the same with wrapping, small amounts I can handle but on Christmas eve at daft oclock I tend to rush it and my 3yr old could probably do better

Freespirit 66 – ooh where did you find tango shower gel please? My son loves tango and would LOVE that as a present

Chrissyg- hope your daughters meeting went well

Snugglebunny – good luck with the contract,it sounds like you work with a really good bunch of people

Pinksteps – aaargh its impossible to go on hobbycraft and not spend. The Christmas stuff is fantastic!

Murie- congratulations to your daughter! I would be shouting it from the rooftops too, you have every right to be proud, what an achievement.

Sequeena- sounds like you had a fun but what a shame that the things were so expensive. Your son is adorable x

Nanamia- wooohoooo well done that’s fantastic!!! I see the plastering went ok, the wallpaper looks lovely and I cant wait to see a finished picture x
  • I called Child Tax Credits today. I was armed with every piece of paper regarding DS and ready for another confrontation only to get a really nice man on the other end of the phone who took the details, authorised payments, backdated claim and told me DS is entitled to CTC until he is 20!!
I am still feeling sick with shock. After being told before that I was not entitled to a thing and having his £120 a week cut this has been a blessing.
Im still going to budget better though in case anything like this happens again.
