Morning all, just caught up before heading out to work. Long day today 9.45-8 then straight to my slimming world group so won't be home til after 9. Not much Christmas time at all today. But it will keep my spirits up on a tough day (I currently do not like my job or the hours I have to work and I'm going in today to tell them I don't want to do the extra work they put me through training for last week) wish me luck. I'll have a proper catch up tonight if I can stay awake. Must get a wriggle on xxx0

morning all!
thanks OMO! I have got the Matchmakers, Cadbury Wishes bag and Terrys bags today so that is off my to do list, just need to go through bags and boxes where ive stashed stuff and update my notebook.
Thank you Nanamia and MrsHayes not sure if I will get the actual contract in my hand tonight but Im on contract from today - I assume will be on my existing 16 hours but am waiting to hear what more they will offer to add as Id really like a 32-36 hour contract if at all posible, so will wait and see! have been doing those hours anyway so would be lovely to have a secure contract and not just as overtimeI do really enjoy it - its hard work obviously and I get tired - after all ive worked from home on a computer for years! so being on my feet for 8 hours at a time gets achy, but the people I work with are brilliant - always dive in to help each other, and am very lucky to have a very good manager, she takes no nonsense (from those who give it!) but is very fair and really encouraging; having had some rubbish managers in my time its great to have sucha good one!
Nanamia your neighbour sounds a bit of a mare!!! Ive only had one conversation with the new neighbour and that was 2 weeks after they moved in in May and I went round to introduce myself and ask if they needed anything, she was perfectly pleasent but ever since Ive only seen her twice scuttling in and out of the car and shes one of those people who puts her head down and avoids eye contact! hubby seems slightly more sociable and will wave and say hi, Im not sure if she is just shy or wether shes one of those people who doesnt like to interect with others, but heyho! I cant really complain about neighbours being too quiet!!
Feisty and BBTHree I hope you are both feeling a little better about things today, just wanted you to know Im thinking of you xxx
Pinknfluffy *hugs* families!! your DD was brave to say what she felt, if he can't see that hes probably being defensive to avoid what he knows is the truth, and as others said, in the long run it will be him with the regrets - you all tried! I made the decision that my father would never meet my chidlren, after all he had no interest in his own! long story, in nutshell he was chronic alcoholic but also very nasty person. We would see my mum out of the house but would not go near him - I dont regret it because they were always surrounded by people who loved them to bits and would not have understood why he was being the way he would have been (had he lived Id have given them the choice to see him when they were old enough to understand) they had the most wonderful paternal grandparents who we very sadly lost when they were far too young but at least the children had them - my mother really lives her own life, which I dont begrudge her as she had a rotten life with my dad, but shes not really that involved, but what Im trying to say in a long and rambling way, is that they talk all the time about the grandparents they spent the time with and who loved them to bits, whenever either of them does something fantastic or hilarious we always say 'Grandpa would have loved that' or 'Grandma would be proud' and think of them watching over us, they talk about them all the time and not what they missed with the other set of GPs, and Im sure your DD's will cherish the memories of the childhood they had with the wonderful family they do have around them, and not think about what they missed if your dad isnt involved (sorry that was so long to get to the point!!!)0 -

Nothing Christmassy but I gotta shout this from the rooftops cus I am soooo proud!
My DD (17) has been working with a mentor from Cambridge uni on a project offered to 'outstanding pupils' which was marked using the undergrad grading system- she is at her awards ceremony today and has just rung me to tell me she got a First!!! (she says she 'just 'scraped through with a first but she still did it!). She has worked hard on this and I am so pleased that she has achieved such a brilliant grade (didn't find out the grades til today-even school organiser didn't know).
Sorry- I'm not crowing I am just so bloody proud I could burst!!!
Right- outburst over_ I am off to hospital with my sis
Junior J-got my fingers crossed for you xxxlovin' this site!
