Still here waiting to go
No point rushing, the traffic will be a nightmare. Red arrows went over about half an hour ago, so everyone will be leaving now.
I will get there, I promise.0 -
Debenhams still have their sale & another 10% off with code PT97, picked up a couple of pressies for the boy plus some stocking fillers in the form of slippers for 3.92 quid a pair

Nic2075. I'm soooooooo excited to go now:j:j
I have just got my secret money out from it’s hidey hole so I can treat the house to something lovely for the festive season:D:D:D
Look how I spelled Callandar:eek::eek:
The excitement must have been really high when I typed that. I hate making spelling mistakes.
I must go and get myself packed for my weekend.
Back in a couple of days;);)
xx
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile

Hello all, I've just caught up with the thread
Earlier this week I bought some snowman stickers from a certain auction website, ready for my snowman soup toppers and/or Christmas cards just as a little extra embellishmentslowly but surely I'm grabbing bits here and there, I just wish I had come across more sales than I have!?
I'm going to head out tomorrow morning and pick up a few bits from Mr T, so I'm hoping to find something in there at least! Just trying to keep the cost down as much as possible this year really.
*Sending you all some festive cheer!*0 -

What about adding a trip to the cinema or bowling? You can usually get deals for these?
04624181 I hope the consultation went ok?
nitnurse how exciting a Christmas shop where you're going! I remember I went to Edinburgh in September once and came across a wonderful Christmas shop, all lovely wooden and rustic decorations - I was over the moon! Enjoy.
OMO Well done for your DS. I love the Christmas shop in Harrods (even though I don't often buy anything :rotfl:) will have to see if I can make it there this year. Sometimes I just love being there when it's dark and standing outside looking at it all lit up. It's a very magical building at Christmas!
fatblackandwhite what a lovely rose!
pinknfluffy I hope your DH makes it back in time!
Well done to all of those with children who passed their GCSE's, it sounds like they all did great! :T
I went to a funeral yesterday and had to do a long round trip and was quite shattered when I got home last night, so treated myself to watching the Royal Family Christmas special! I think someone else on here watched it recently? It cheered me up! I generally like to wait until November/December to watch Christmas films but I do treat myself to TV series' Christmas specials throughout the year.
Thanks, I love the cinema but dh hates it! and bowling I'm awful at, to the point nearly every ball is in the gutter :rotfl: but dh is really good so it gets a bit boring! But I'd appreciate any other ideas, I stumbled across this website http://loveactually-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2009/03/date-night-ideas.html well blog but its got some sweet ideas on, not had a good chance to read it all yet though.
We're off to Yarmouth tomorrow, started putting some things out on the landing, travel cot, stroller, toys, clothes for both kids. It already looks like a mountain, I havnt packed for dh and I yet. And downstairs is food, towels, travel highchair, duvets/sheets. Dh's car seriously needs to turn into a tardis!!!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Does anyone make their own Christmas cake? I am tempted but seeing as it works out quite costly I'm worried it may be a waste as things are still quite tight.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

I've just ordered some books for Christmas presents from the Book People - extra 25% off all sale books this weekend with code BIRTHDAY - well worth a look.

I do, and I make them for family & friends. Late this year, not done yet. However, I don't decorate them, that way they can be cut wanted, rather than because they are there and need to be cut. Everyone let me know when they finished theirs, from Easterish to end of June. They had been fed so much, that the fumes could make you drunk! As long as you keep them air tight, they are fine. I actually cover mine initially in greaseproof, then a layer of tin foil and then cling film, but I wrap each layer the opposite way to the previous, btw my tins are square, that helps keep the seal.
You will be fine if you have a goA smile costs little but creates much0 -
