Grrrr I posted a really long reply yesterday morning but the gremlins ate it and when I refreshed it had gone - so apologies if I miss anyone.

Nana, glad the BD is being scared off by the fairy lights, long may it last!

OMO that is fantastic news about your son, I obviously don't know him but from what you have said he really seems to have blossomed recently :)

Freespirit, so sorry your poor son is being knocked bag - it must be so frustrating. Being over qualified is a pain in the a$$ companies wont employ him as they are so paranoid he will be whisked away by someone else.

mrsinvisible all these trips sound wonderful!

Thank you so much for the Christmas events thread - will be checking on there reguarly!

Thank you all for the tips re; hyde park. As most of you know we sadly don't have children, so money for the rides wouldn't be an issue and we can't even do ice skating as DHs health is too poor. If the market isn't up to much then it really isn't worth us going :( Would be open to other suggestions though :)

Since Monday I have been working from 7am through to 10pm - only break I have is 30 minutes whilst eating my tea. I'm not getting paid for it as it is stock making for the upcoming weekend craft fair. I am a fool - I have paid out just over £100 in pitch fees and materials and it is doubtful I will even make that up over the two days. Add in the fact that two weeks on I am still chasing down payment confirmation for my space and have no clue about set up times, lay out, rules etc and I am very nervous.

I do this to myself every time - stress myself out and spend a lot of money only to have minimal sales, tears, tantrums and stress. I am telling myself that this time I have really gone all out, there is nothing I could do to increase interest/sales - if it fails I will really have to re-think craft fairs as a selling venue.

Thanks for the inspiration - this is my first attempt at a leather rose. Give it a two out of ten so far and have ideas of how I will tweak the pattern to make it better.

    Yikes! Sorry about the size.

fb&w don't put yourself down, it is more like a 9 out of 10. :)

msgigglewick glad your dd1 did well. My dd was more excited with the c in maths than the a/b's she got. She needed a C in maths to become a History teacher.
A lot of the kids in her school didn't get the results they expected, and some were crying :(. (So dd said ). Dd was predicted A's and got mostly B's but she is happy.
Tomorrow she enrols in 6th form. If only she could decide what her 3rd subject is going to be.
