OMO which app do you use? I like the idea of this as I also like to be neat! Didn't think of toiletries list, that's a gudden!
Thanks all xx
I use Better Christmas List. It by Code Before Dawn. It is on the iPhone. I know some people on here have one on their Android phones. They may be able to help if you don't use an iPhone.
If you put the shops in that you want to buy the gifts from, it will give you a shopping list. You can shop by person or shop by stores.
( I love that bit, it's makes shopping so easy. Look at the shop name and it tells you what you need to buy in it)
You can take photos of the people you want to buy for, and photos of the gifts.
It tells you if your present is
An idea
Bought
Wrapped
Delivered
It has a running total of the money spent.
I have 4 main lists which have sub lists.
Family- list of family
Friends- list of friends
Cards- 2 lists - special and normal
Shopping -2 lists -home and food
Every year your list is archived so you can look back at what you bought last year.
You cannot change the archived lists, so I re-type the shopping and card lists. But it gives me something to do, as so much is done by the app.
Eta- Under each person is Details. This is where I put the budget for that person. It also has notes in the detail bit. I use this for stocking filler lists. Or hamper lists.
Nearly forgot the best bit. You need a code to open it. So no prying eyes.0 -
Evening everyone,
NANAMIA i can guarantee i would have cried too, i cant cope with anything like that, oh no i thought that was bad enough to make you have the BD without DHs family causing upset! How is DH health, did the rest do him good? It will take a few days to get over but then just put the silly c*w out of your mind, my favourite mantra when i am upset and angry with someone is Being Angry Is Like Drinking Poison and Expecting The Other Person To Die :rotfl:Keep coming on here and reading all our lovelies messages to you even if you dont feel like answering
OMO hope you finally get results with the nurse, has lovely DS finished his six weeks working with the trains?
FEISTY really look into going to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, i went with my DDs not last xmas but the xmas before and we were really disappointed, its very expensive, very busy and the market bit was really small and disappointing, unless you love all the rides, we dont and there wasnt much else to do, we walked round and ended up in the Hyde Park Cafe having hot chocolate and leaving, there wasnt even a good choice of food (unless you can eat spicy german sausage at 10am) :rotfl:i really dont want to put a downer on this, i am glad i went but i definitely wouldnt go again, my sis takes her kids every year and reckons they spend around £100 with the kids going on all the rides just for the evening
NOODLES those dates a month look fab

Ds is back in this week doing an extra course. The man training them has his own company. To work for him you need an extra exam because they do specialist work. He picked 7 out of the 15 to do the extra exam and ds was one if them.:D The people he didn't pick can still work for British Rail, but not for his company.
So if ds passes this week he should have a job at the end of it. :j
I nearly forgot to mention dd and me are off to see Wicked tomorrow.:D
I would agree the Winter Wonderland isn't all that. The first year we all went we went on the wheel. The second year me and my mate gave up and sat on a bench while dd and her mate went on some rides. The food is very dear.
I would suggest going to Harrods and Fortnum and Masons. ( lovely window displays). Then popping into Hyde Park if you have the time and energy left.0 -

I tend to agree with freespirit about the Winter Wonderland. We do Father Christmas and Oxford Street before heading over to Hyde Park. It is absolutely heaving so tricky for small children walking. It is also always freezing cold:eek:
Wrap up well and pre-book ice skating if you want to do it.Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

All this talk about Christmas outings has reminded me that I need to book me & OH into the Country Living Christmas fair in London. Last Christmas he brought me a years magazine subscription so I have a code for BOGOF on tickets this year if I booked before the beginning of September. I've been once before but with not a lot of money... so this time I'm going to save
We don't have many to buy for as I don't speak to my side of the family & only have his mum on his side so apart from our kids, the main expense at Christmas is the house & food as we tend to celebrate a lot with friends.
For those of you who love candles, Partylite have released their Autumn/Winter catalogue
They are so pretty but I wish they weren't so expensive....
CHRISSYG... hope you & DD manage to catch up on some sleep today. Regarding your OH's coffee hamper, I think Argos has some cheap caf! tiers in different colours at the mo.
One thing I'd like to do & have never done Money Maker & OMO, is go to an open air Christmas market. I live near Bath so I will attempt to go to their one this year, kids, babysitter & weather permitting. It must be lovely to wonder around with a mug of mulled wine looking at all the pretty stalls.
I like the idea of that app too OMO but alas my mobile is 'an emergencies only' & the size of a brick style mobile... so scraps of paper & a vast amount of brain space to store all my ideas it is :rotfl:
I watched the Christmas episode of The Royal Family last night.
Wishing you all a lovely day :snow_grin0 -
Just quickly popping in to let anyone who's interested know that on 4movies today at 6.55pm Home Alone is on :-) x

I've created a Christmas events page to keep all festivals, markets etc in one place. Please update as & when you hear of an event or activity, I often miss out on things becuase they are only advertised in local newspapers/noticeboards but live within a couple of miles & would love to have gone, so maybe this will help keep us in the loop of local events.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Hiya everybody!!
Loving that the christmas chat is flowing very well.
NANAMIA- When lovely people like yourself help other people and touch other peoples lives so much you will always get the JEALOUS people who will go out of their way to make mischief and upset for you. I am sending you a HUGE virtual hug and hope that the BD will see all of our chrsitmas spirit and will be chased off by all the fairy lights xx
OMO- What wonderful news that your son has been chosen to the extra exam, you must be so proud. That christmas app sounds fab. Hope you manage to get sorted out at the drs.I much prefer to see my nurse rather than my dr. The dr is new and was not sympathetic to my back problem. The nurse knew it was something serious and told me to go to a specialist hospitals A+E. When the dr found out how serious my back problem was he was left shame faced!
NOODLES86- the dates are a fantastic idea and may BORROW your idea for the husband. Was it yourself that posted about the vertabaudet deal? I want to thank you as I managed to order my daughter a lovely skirt and tshirt for christmas day and hopefully will get the tea set free.
QUIDSY- that is a fantastic idea. im the same, always finding out about things after the event
CHRISSY G- Do hope your daughter is ok and hope you manage to get some sleep
MRS GIGGLEWICK- haha the card from your elf sounds fantastic, where did you order that from. I caved and have ordered my daughter an elf on the shelf from USA store Booksamillion. I ordered the elf on the shelf with the book that comes in a box and i also ordered a plush version of the elf on the shelf that my elf will leave for my 3yr old daughter on xmas eve as a special surprise xx I am SSSOOOO excited by it all and am busy planning a list of activities and trying to do a december calender of things that the elf will leave and do.
Well everyone, am hoping that I will get some good news when I go to see the consultant tomorrow about my back. Would like to come off my medication as they make me forgetful and I feel zombified. Have been ordering quite a few christmas bits. Got my daughter the elf on the shelf dvd. It is only about 20 mins but is a sweet story and she loves it. Also got her a dvd for her christmas eve hamper, got me and hubby a christmas dvd too. need to think of a good one for my 10yr old0 -
