    Xmas Saver!
I really wonder sometimes about the rest of this site. I posted in the British Holiday forum this morning.

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4686847

102 people have looked and I have 1 reply. It was nice of that person to take the time, but her reply was not really what I was looking for.

I know you need a kettle, table and chairs.

Some kind of hardwearing tape, for repairing tears or sticking things down.

You would be surprised what a decent roll of tape can solve. :)

Rubbish sacks & carrier bags. Roll of string.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Hi OMO, I have things like this on my list:

    Sleeping bags
    Ground mats
    Spare tent pegs
    Mallet
    Torch
Lantern (a clip on lantern that can be hung from the 'ceiling' of the tent for light when inside at night)
    Chairs
    Gas stove
Old towel ( good when weather is bad - put it inside the entrance of the tent for mucky shoes etc)
    Pillows
    Gas
Blankets incase it's cold at night
    Hot water bottles
    Saucepans
    Mugs, bowls, plates & cutlery
    Kitchen roll
    Toilet roll
    Scissors
    Tin opener
    Mini chopping board
    Bin bags
    Washing up bowl
    Washing up liquid
    Tea towels
    Towels
Earplugs (can be noisy on campsite!)
Large bottles of water (for drinking and cooking)
    Long matches for stove
Carbon monoxide alarm if you have one

I realise this is more than 2-3 things! :o I've also just realised you said that lady's reply was not quite whatt you're looking for - so not sure my list might is much good either! Sorry!

Thanks quidsy that was more like what I was thinking off. I just can't believe that many looked at the post and only one person replied.
Do people just look at threads because they are bored ? Surely out of the 102 people who looked at it more than one of them camps in a tent.

    My reply would be-
Take your own pillow. (As I can't sleep without it.)

    princesskitty thank you.

But what is the thing that isnt on a camp list that you take. Or the things on the lists that you don't bother with.

The lists I have seen on-line are mahoosive :rotfl: I'd need a caravan just to get it all to the site. :rotfl:

Eta you have eye plugs ! That's the kind of thing I am after. The little things you don't think about until you are there!

There is one thing that I always take that wasn't on the list that might or might not be appealing to you! I always take a bog-in-a-bag:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bog-Bag-BoginaBag-Portable-Camping/dp/B003G3BCTG

It's certainly not glamorous, but is a life saver if you need the loo in the night! I don't use it during the day, it's just for those times when I don't want to trek across the campsite at 1am in the morning!

I know you're looking for more tips and hints really, so i'll get thinking!

Have just edited my last reply to you. It is things like ear plugs. :T

We have a kampa khazi. It's not glamorous either. The last time we went camping (in folding camper) my cousin used it in the night. She woke everyone up with her laughing because her pee was steaming where it was so cold. :rotfl:
