Firsttimemum wrote: »It's quite a while since I've posted but I've been trying to keep up with reading at least. I thought you would all be the right people to help, I've booked a cottage for over christmas for me, DH, DS, mum and dad, and have no idea how to decorate it for christmas. Can't take up to much space in the car as only have 2 cars to transport 5 people, food, presents etc and can't leave any marks behind when taken down so I'm really stuck for ideas. Any ideas would be a great help, thank you in advance. :xmastree:
Paper chains.
Take them flat and make them there, while drinking baileys etc.
Then just drape them over things. You could also take micro popcorn and string that.0 -

Oh bless she must have been in agony. Fancy not ringing you. Having your hand in plaster/splint is a real downer. I broke my wrist on the last PE of the year, when I was 13.
The one brown arm, one flaky white arm was not a good look to back in September with. Neither was missing out on lots of fun summer stuff.
Hope dd4 picks up soon.0 -

FIRSTTIMEMUM what sort of decs do you want, you could always go for a walk when there and collect holly, greenery etc and just add a few baubles and ribbon all around the cottage, but not sure if DS is very young? I know when i have been to NT houses they lay holly around and it looks gorgeous. Will have a think

Msgigglewick, please complain to the school - It is negligent that they left her without medical attention for so long
What could have started as a hairline fracture could have been made worse my the lack of stabilisation etc
freespirit - recovery is supposed to be weeks, not months, but because of his heart problems we are always told to expect the worse when it comes to healingYesterday he told me that the swelling has done a complete 180 - I thought he meant back to before the weekend, but he actually means back to before the original accident last June! We are both so worried it is just a fluke, that it will suddenly swell again - but hoping this really is a turning point
Went to see Of Monsters and Men last night - absolutely shattered today, and still so much craft fair preparations to do before Sunday! For those of you that have done them before, where did you go for public liability insurance?[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

I shall be complaining tomorrow.. shes at a taster day today at her new secondary school... so couldn't miss it. She is being rather sweet though saying that her hand wasn't swollen when she first did it but still hurt.. the fact she went to the medical room and had a cold compress placed on it means they knew it needed attention.. they could phone me in the morning asking if she could attend an event after school to represent the school but not something like that
seems very off to me. She was rather stiff this morning still. hopefully with other things on her mind it will make the hand relax a bit today and have more movement in the rest of them.
Hope the rest of you/and your love ones are getting over their ailments xxTotally debt free wohooo 2014

Thank you all for your responses. Sorry I can't see who's said what to get everyone who helped but:
Mrs Christmas - thank you for reminding me about the lollys. 10p each I could maybe manage as the final treat on the 24th - depending on how much the others cost me! I'm trying to keep the overall cost low but I know that my hand made effort probably won't compete with the £1 supermarket cartoon ones!
I also have noticed that about dotcom - agree the sale can be hit or miss and you have to check! I got some lovely metal hearts that I thought would be the size to hang on the tree for 39p - they were huge!!! Still nice and I'll use them but I bought a few to use as decorations! Other times things then turn up smaller than you think!
Fiesty - I've not got my insurance yet but I've been advised on another forum that Direct Line or www.cmtia.co.uk are both about £50 each. You also want public and private liabitly included up to 5 million I believe.0 -

Oh msgigglewick your poor daughter! I hope she makes a speedy recovery. It made me think of when I broke my arm when I was 5, I was in hospital for two weeks - I had my arm in traction and couldn't get out of bed the whole time! I was so jealous of the other kids playing with all of the toys at the end of the ward.
That was back in the 80's though, i'm not sure if they'd still keep someone in bed for two weeks for a broken arm?!
