Nana so lovely to read about your adventures! Lay away sounds like a fabulous idea :) And no worrying about weight limits etc either! I meant to say that I have joined the Christmas in July promotion team on my online selling venue ;) Have even dug out some Christmas DVD/CD boxes to take with to the Craft fair and some reduced cards too :)

OMO your son has brought a lump to my throat! What an absolute star he is, the job is obviously doing him the world of good :)

    Paper chains.
Take them flat and make them there, while drinking baileys etc. :D
Then just drape them over things. You could also take micro popcorn and string that.

Fab idea thanks, looking for nice christmas papers on eBay now xx
FIRSTTIMEMUM what sort of decs do you want, you could always go for a walk when there and collect holly, greenery etc and just add a few baubles and ribbon all around the cottage, but not sure if DS is very young? I know when i have been to NT houses they lay holly around and it looks gorgeous.

Sounds like a great idea for a lovely walk, will do this but keep it up high, DS will be 20 months at christmas time xx

    Evening everyone,

:j:j DS rang me today he has got his final mark and has graduated with a 2:1 in Film and Cinematography, i am so happy and proud of him, he has battled very bad depression while he has been at uni and his dad leaving didnt help, he wanted to be home to look after his girls (as he calls us) but we persuaded him to keep at it, that he had lots of friends, loved the coursework, and would feel so much better seeing it through and he has, also he had a fantastic doctor who has done so much for him :j:j

NANAMIA so sorry to hear about DSIL, what a terrible shame after all that hard work recovering, at least you now know what a fighting spirit she has, it sounds like heaven there, why cant the brits be more laid back? Well that will be a weight off your shoulders getting xmas sorted while you are out there, what a great idea, letting people pay here and there. Ha ha i tell you i was so mad i didnt even think, because i knew we were in the right i just picked up the phone, DD1 couldnt believe it she said she would ring them pretending to be me and i said i have already done it ha ha
OMO aah i really love hearing about DS he really is a star

    Xmas Saver!
Ds was mucking about with his push bike in the garden earlier. I asked what the problem was, and he said the lock was stiff. So I told him to use the one under the sink, because it could look like he was trying to steel the bike if he had to keep playing with the lock, and he said " But I'm keeping that one for best !" :rotfl:

We have now changed the locks over. :D

Firsttimemum - how about taking a roll of red ribbon with you on holiday, then go on a walk and collect some holly / Fir , you can tie this together with the ribbon and hang around the cottage or single branches picture frames etc - easily removed too without leaving any damage!

ETA - sorry ignore me, I see someone has already suggest this further up, sorry!
