did a dotcomgiftshop sale shop the other day, I have to say, between them & crafycrocs I am impressed at the speed of delivery. managed to get some stocking filelrs, like note pads & a spoon holder plus a couple of really huge storgae bags with 3 compartments all for no more than a couple of quid each. very impressed.

I shall use one of the stoarge bags to keep all the early Christmas gifts in, so that I don't do my usual & forget I have them... then find them after Christmas!!
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

freespirit These people really don't get it do they. They are playing with other people's life's. To them you are just a number.
They go home at the end of the day, without a care to what turmoil or headaches they have caused.

This is SO true OMO. Customer service doesn't mean a lot to some people nowadays. :(
PRINCESSKITTY yes no one seems to care about their work anymore or helping people, how did your first day go?
I hope you are doing a bit better freespirit. Yes my first day was good thanks, i'm working with a lovely bunch of people so I don't forsee any problems. :)

Trendyjenny a swimming hamper sounds great. Could you get him some trunks? Or is he fussy? Does he ever use a swimming cap? Sometimes swimmers also use nose clips and ear plugs.

quidsy I saw those lovely bags on dotcom, didn't think to use them for Christmas present storage though - what a great idea!

Feisty sorry to hear the walk to town didn't go very well, but he will get there - hopefully sooner rather than later. x

Hello all - hope you are all well, and hugs to those who need them.

That's me booked in at my local Christmas craft fair with a stall selling my home made junk! Now I just need to get the courage up to put my name down for some other ones! (this would mean I'd need my own insurance at £50+ so I'm not even sure it's worth it!)

Anyway I pick up bits I need in the sales and when I see them, and have found the perfect 'cases' for bath cupcakes from Poundland in their summer range - 4 plastic icecream bowls. I'll then add a sachet of bath salts, a body puff and bath pearl 'cherry'. So I can get these made up this weekend and things started! I'll try and post a pic when done. I've got a photobucket account, but can never get the photo to insert, so will keep trying!

I'm making my own advent calendars to sell (since fair is on 23rd Nov) and am looking for a bulk buy on wrapped mini choc santas/snowballs etc. - like the type you get in supermarkets in the nets but these are usually only 6 pieces or so and would work out very expensive, and I want to keep the finished items quite cheap - since I'll need 24 chocolates they need to be lower cost. Has anyone come accross these in previous years - I'd be looking for a few hundred!

Just a quick note for anyone else who is interested in decorating their bathroom for the festive season :snow_grin I picked up a poppy red bath mat in the clearance section of argos today for £3.99. As they do a lot of other items in the colour match section, I thought I'd grab it & buy the towel bales ect in the same colour over the next few months, keeping an eye out for when they are on sale. Also, you'd expect 'poppy red' to be quite bright but I think it's more the rich 'Christmas red'

I also did a stocking filler shop at dotcomgiftshop but find it's very hit or miss QUIDSY Very impressed with the cupcake flannel & soap sets at £1 but some of the pencil cases I brought for DDs (not in the sale but a new arrival) were £5 and were tiny, not like the impression given by the photo at all. I really wouldn't have paid more than £2 for them :( My own fault for not looking at the measurements I suppose but if you look for yourself you'll see what I mean. They're like the old fashioned,in the shape of a pencil that unzips at the top, style. Sometimes I'll get a complete quirky bargain from there (like their wall signs which I love) & other times, like today, I'll be disappointed and wonder if I could have found similar in a pound shop.

Poppygirl I'm thinking really quick now because I have to dash but possibly I have seen the chocolates in nets in Wilkinsons?Aldi? They also do packs of 10 santa chocolate lollipops for a £1... I know you want them cheaper so I'll rack my brains & get back to you if I remember properly!

Poppygirl your bath cupcakes sound fab! :) Good luck with all of the preparations for your craft fairs. I found these chocolates on ebay you can buy in bulk:

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/pams-chocolate-delights/Chocolate-Nepolitan-Squares-/_i.html?_fsub=1846811011

But I don't think this is what you're looking for. I've had a quick scout on Google but it's mostly American sites coming up. I'll keep my eyes peeled though!

MrsChristmas I love your idea of dressing the bathroom up! I do have Christmas towels (towels with Christmas motifs on) but I do like your idea of buying red mats and towels for the festive season. I shall investigate as I never feel my bathrooms are festive enough with just my towels and I do like to spread the festive joy throughout the house! :)

I'm pleased with myself today as i've managed to buy a few more Christmas presents. This is going to sound very un-exciting but i've bought two of my friends these tupperware boxes from Lakeland:

    http://www.lakeland.co.uk/17010/Push-and-Push-Lunch-Box

We have lunch together and quite often they'll bring salads in old tubs and use the flimsy plastic custlery at work, so as boring as it is I thought it would be a really useful gift for them. I'll put some little more exciting presents inside it for them too. Luckily I needed some other bits from Lakeland so I got free delivery otherwise it wouldn't have been worth it!

I'm also making a coffee hamper for my brothers girlfriend who loves coffee, so bought this to go in it today:

    http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Kenneth+Cole+I+love+coffee+mug/161246000,default,pd.html

I'm pleased with my bargains, more presents to stash away! :xmassmile
  • It's quite a while since I've posted but I've been trying to keep up with reading at least. I thought you would all be the right people to help, I've booked a cottage for over christmas for me, DH, DS, mum and dad, and have no idea how to decorate it for christmas. Can't take up to much space in the car as only have 2 cars to transport 5 people, food, presents etc and can't leave any marks behind when taken down so I'm really stuck for ideas. Any ideas would be a great help, thank you in advance. :xmastree:
