Omo silver lining! Your DS is such a wonderful young man :) enjoy that tent shopping ;)

    Yes he really is. :D

Well it didn't take me long :rotfl:
Go Outdoors have a sale next month and I can get this 10 berth for £250. You can even get a porch for it.

It doesn't look too hard to put up :rotfl:

I know it is big, but it has 4 bedrooms, so we can use one for a wash/changing room. It also has a large living area. I don't think we would cope in a small one.

My best friend goes 'glamping' in a tent like that every summer for 2 weeks. She loves it and I don't think it's too bad to put up. Just make sure it gets aired before you use it-especially if it was put away when wet. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

    Dd loves the glamping bit.
I just went on YouTube to look at camping equipment I need
They are MAD . I do not want to kill my own food. Or collect fire wood.
To be honest I think all I will need is the hitch-up lead. Which is on offer from the 17th July in the camp shop.
So I am not going to frighten myself anymore watching homemade horror films.
  • zippybungle Thanks for the heads up on the kilner bottles. I will pop to Wilkies tomorrow to see if I can get some. :D
I want to make some chilli oil as a gift for Friday and I have some recipes for flavoured vodkas which I want to make for my kids for Christmas.....They are all over 18:rotfl:
    Cheers x

OMO glad DD had a lovely time at her prom, sorry about the camper van such a shame but sometimes we have to say enough is enough, what a lovely idea for DS to come up with, that tent looks wicked, my DD1 has been trying to get me to go camping this year but the weather is so fickle and i dont think the dog will like it :) i do fancy the glamping teepees etc but wow they are so expensive

Kayandy sorry to hear of your breakup, you worked so hard on it, put up with MiL etc! Still I'm sure your DM is delighted to have you back, and DB will be over the moon to have you spoiling him :) I am sorry if it seemed I was prying, you just know what I'm like. Ha xxx
Caitlyn you always say the nicest things, you didn't half make me chuckle. You have a special way of cheering me up so thank you for that:) I love the gifts you've chosen so thoughtful and very organised already. X
Msgigglewick bi!ches aaarrrgghh - we can send Caitlyn round ! Your post about DD made me cry, I think girls are far worse than boys and can be so cruel :( My crafty mse daughter when her prom at school was approaching - her and a few close friends looked into the cost of the prom and decided they could have a holiday for that much money so that's what the did! A week of making memories with people they wanted to spend time with :) She is adamant she doesn't regret it now ten years later.
Zippybungle Hi, you are definitely in the right place:) Oooh and I love those bottles, thank you x

Linky in the post I lost yesterday I'd written how proud I was of your DS and the way he'd coped with everything this week and I log in again today and he's surpassed himself again. You must be so very very proud of him :) go Master Linky well done you xxx
Drops of Jupiter woo hoo congratulations on the house. How very exciting. I neeeeed details you know how nosey I am :)
Pinknfluffy well done you for putting a prom package together , goo thinking. I'm glad things are going so well. But you and Drops of Jupiter need to make time for yourselves too, can't have either of you burning out!
I like Freespirit have shared your mantra " Jewels not tools" with DD who is spreading the word and BBF who chuckled and said she needs to remember that. Ha. Your wisdom has spread Pinknfluffy

    Morning,
Hope you are enjoying your break Nanamia? X

Glad to hear your DD's prom went well OMO. And your DS sounds like a lovely young man. X

The kids are on their summer holiday here. Trying to find cheap or free things to do. It was my DS 6th birthday yesterday. So we went out for a nice breakfast, then my OH took him to the cinema to see Despicible Me 2 ( using the free ticket he had from joing the club thing a while ago) So he had a lovely day .

I had a weird dream last night. I was in a department store somewhere and all the sold was balls of wool and Dora the explorer Chiristmas baubles lol.

Hi all, one day I vow to keep up with this thread!! I missed a bit, so I caught up and wrote loads of notes, then I didn't have time to post and then got behind again! So I thought i'm just going to post and start again. mrsinvisible i'm so, so sorry to hear of your terrible loss, I cannot imagine what you're going through. I hope you're bearing up ok and we will all be here when you're ready to come back. x

    Happy belated birthday bossymoo!

OMO what a great suggestion from your son! I do love a camping trip but they will try to sell you EVERYTHING! The only extra bits we have are a camping stove and saucepans. For the last two years we have gone to watch F1 at Silverstone and camped - I really missed it this year. We haven't got any camping trips planned but reading your posts is making me want to book one!

I had a fairly sad end to last week saying goodbye to lads of colleagues who are being made redundant, but i'm being positive today and looking forward as i'm in a new department.
