AMEYTURTLE hello glad you are back, so sorry you are still feeling so bad and it still hasnt been properly diagnosed yet, so sorry you didnt get promotion, DD1 was in same situation last week :( i hope after reading OMO you are now putting eye drops in

Glad you are feeling better from the other day.
FEISTY ha i wondered what i was being told off for then :rotfl:i know but last year i knew it was my mind healing itself, but this week i dont know why and its so frustrating, hope DH is beginning to feel a bit better, hope you are not stressing too much from it all, work will understand what else can you do? Cant wait to see your xmas crafts, and you are right that is just what DD1 and i spoke about tonight, we have had a really tight month and feeling sorry for ourselves, then she said about one of her colleagues having to deal with 2 miscarriages, cancer, and now her DH losing his job, like you say we should appreciate what we have.

Oooh Trendy how was your massage? I've heard such good reviews of them but I really can't bare being touched (strangers I mean) I have to psych myself up for a hair cut! I hope the magic fingers relaxed you tho :) You should be feeling really proud of yourself my lovely. I was thinking about you earlier when DD, lovely neighbour and I were discussing excercising along with our dieting. DD has been running up and down the stairs ten times and doing it twice a day, free and no need for childcare so works for her- and you wouldn't need to face the gym till you feel ready. Then lovely neighbour says she's been using her back step like a step routine clever pair using what's available and both do squats too! xxx
Msgigglewick I love the elves, how adorable :) Looking forward to the festive photos x
Gettingtherequickly oooooh I'm dying to hear how your meal went, I neeeed to know ever detail, table settings, food course ambiance everything :) Well done on the weight loss :) how have you been doing it? New wardrobe lucky you xxx
Linky Robbie is adorable can't believe how big he is :) I had that track suit in my hand on Tuesday in JD - got DGD1 some pink high top converse and thought the track suits were so cute but only the little ones were in the sale!
rjh090384 hiya sorry I'm no help with the preserves question but see the other lovelies have helped :) Stick with us you won't go far wrong. I love the sound of your new hobby, although I'm sorry to hear you are having health problems :(
Feisty my lovely, your poor DH has so been through a tough time bless him:( Still he'll rest better at home with you nursing him (and his Mum) Lets hope by the weekend you both see a huge improvement. I didn't realise it was a different hospital to the one he'd previously had his treatment in, he must be fed up with hospitals by now :( Hope you get time to play with your nails this weekend, I love the pictures xxx
Ameyturtle how are you feeling today? Hope you feel a little brighter :) and have been using the eye drops - Linkys description of what could happen is the stuff of nightmares xxx
Freespirit I feel the same way about this thread, it's certainly ( not the thread so much as the lovelies posting) has helped me through some tough times in the last few months, maybe longer :) I'm not being mushy but I think Christmas loving people are the best :) "There is room for everyone on the "nice" list " xxx
I also am grumpy today, how strange is that, I think we are probably twins! Had a fun morning with DGD2 and her toilet training whilst DH took DD shopping. Made the cake which is for Saturday will start to decorate tomorrow cos DGD2 is having a sleep over tomorrow so will be busy. Need to make another cake in the morning due out Sunday and decide what to put on it. No lists made for holiday planning, no tidying so lovely neighbour doesn't think I live in squalor CBA. Think we may need a kick up the b@m. Anybody offering?
Like Feisty said tomorrow's another day! So who knows xxx

It's Friday, Friday, Wonderful Lovely Friday! - Can you tell I'm glad it's Friday? ;)

When it comes to advice I've decided I can talk the talk, but struggle to walk the walk. After boldly deciding I would finish 'work' by 6pm last night I was still at it at gone 8pm - then sat down for an hour and started again at 9pm! To say DH was unimpressed is a bit of an understatement ;)

    My reason for the late working (among order filling) is that one of my colleagues is getting married tomorrow, so I whipped up this;

Wilkinson have all frames on 50% off, so although very time consuming, this only cost £3.00 to knock up :) I'm thinking of offering them framed in the shop as they really do look nice!

  • Well, where do I start about last night? Got a cab from the station (I know not MSE, but it was a special occasion) and while I was paying the driver the door opened which confused me, then realised that the restaurant had a door man. This place is so discreet that the only sign for the restaurant is beside the door. I work for a construction company and we had been working on a property literally across the road from it and no one noticed it before! Anyway, had the door opened while he said "Good evening madam!" I HATE being called madam:mad:

Got to reception and was told I was the first to arrive and asked if I would like to wait there or be taken to the table, well, I wasn't going to be Billy No Mates at the table so I took a seat at reception, then was offered champagne (don't drink) so had a glass of water, then they brought cheesy canapes, melt in your mouth. Others arrived a few minutes later and we were taken to our table.

The dining area is basically quite a small room, tastefully decorated, with no background music, which was nice. We probably had the best table as we could see nearly everything going on, but that also created problems in itself. All of the staff have a specific role, so we were getting confused as to who was who (ok, we were heathens!), but they were great about it. Maitre D' came and introduced himself, sommelier etc. More canapes arrived while we studied the menu. For fish lovers, it was heaven, for me hell, as the only main course I could choice was lamb, which I love anyway. I had sauteed foie gras for starter followed by the lamb. The others had various fish starter and main.

The starter came with a selection of breads and they kept coming back to ask if I wanted more, did they not realise I am on a diet, even if it was blown out the window for last night! Apparently the wines they chose were really nice, but strangely the red only comes in half bottles, so that was £140 for 2 half bottles and £120 for a bottle of white:eek: Could have been worse, there was one, probably a large one (!) for £70,000:eek::eek::eek::eek:

3 of us had the cheese board for dessert and the others had an apple tartin, which apparently was like a toffee apple glazed tart with ice cream. The cheese was to die for and he trundled up with his trolley and asked for preference, which was served with freshly baked biscuits and crackers, it was perfection!

We were then given little balls of strawberry icecream covered in white chocolate, served in a dish of liquid nitrogen, my goodness, it was beautifully fresh and cleansing. Were also given turkish delight.

The care and attention was first class and for the first time, I did not have an issue with the the "optional" service charge which is slapped on irrespective every place and the bill was a lot less than expected, was quite funny, it was a company night, so boss paid and promptly gave me the bill as I am the idiot who has to deal with the accounts!

Overall opinion, if you are given the opportunity to go there, especially at someone else's expense, grab it with both hands.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Ah I see! He is super cute. And waht a lovely thing to do - taking in your best friends son.

Nanamia I am a member of a gym as my DH gets a massive discount, but sometimes when I can't be bothered to go I do things like running up and down the stairs at home!! :rotfl:

Feisty what a lovely gift! :T

Gettingtherequickly your meal sounds fab! I love going to new restaurants when I can.

Hello rjh090384 . I'm afraid I don't know much about making chutneys in advance, perhaps have a little search on Google? I'm sure there's stuff you can make this far ahead....

I think I may sound a bit silly here but what does CBA mean? x
