Thanks so much for the birthday messages!
I had a lovely day yesterday. The theme of the day was CHOCOLATE! It started with breakfast in bed. Choc chip brioche rolls, filled with chocolate & caramel spread. Choc/raspberry coffee to wash it down with.
Had a lazy morning opening some pressies and cards and then got ready to go out. Wasn't sure what we were doing, so stumped with what to wear. Also was forecast to be rainy and windy. Ended up with a maxi dress and shrug, but wore my new coat-which mum gave me for my birthday so I could wear it in autumn! (contains wool and is a 'grown up' coat)
Went out just before 1pm and had the fly past for trooping the colour fly overhead as we walked to the tube.
First stop was a hotel near Battersea where we had a lovely chocolate afternoon tea. Chocolate martini to start, followed by some finger sandwiches. Then a cake platter was brought out and we could choose from a selection of teas or hot chocolates. I went for a white strawberry hot chocolate because it sounded interesting. We were so full by the end that we asked for the remaining food to be bagged up as we couldn't fit anymore in!
After that we headed to Choccywoccydodah to collect something...which turned out to be a chocolate cat from Blossom (our cat!). Then we caught a bus to Covent Garden (raining!) as there was a Ben & Jerry's van there giving out free ice cream. Yummy!
Even though I was quite full already, DH has booked a table at an Italian restaurant, so we ate there (only had pasta for main and struggled to finish it) and then it was on to the theatre to watch Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. Brilliant show-still in previews, I believe-and really enjoyed it. Am shattered today and haven't got the energy to face Tesco shopping, so just sent DH off to deal with it. Great birthday, though.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

To be honest it wasn't great. I had the most miserable woman sitting next to me in the theatre. Every time someone made a noise she huffed. In the end I told her she was making more noise than everyone else put together.
There was a hold up on the tube, so we got in later than I had hoped for. That meant everything was really rushed. I felt like I was always checking the time.
I am glad we are seeing Wicked in the afternoon. I think I will stick to matinees from now on. Nothing shuts until late so we could look round after the play and take our time. We also won't have to carry all dds Primark bits round with us all day.
I did laugh at dd. We saw a human statue in Leicester Square. Dd didn't believe he was real, so I gave her £1 to put in his pot and he moved. When we passed him again about 10 minutes later he obviously remembered her and tapped her on the head. She jumped in the air and started screaming and flapping her arms about. Everyone watching her was in fits of laughter.:rotfl:0 -

freespirit, I thought all was going well until he told me a few minutes ago he can feel the 'liquid' in his left lung
Check up on Thursday, so hopefully a fresh xray well reveal what is going on.
DH has decided regardless of what is available in our budget locally, he would like to move to the country next year. I can just hear the comments from family members now - what if you need help like recently, what if he needs the specialist hospital, you'll get annoyed with the commute, what will he do for work etc, etc. The ironic thing is that the family member that will say this was loosely considering packing up for halfway up the country for a job a few years back.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Just tell them the fresh air will do him good. City/ town air is holding him back, too many exhaust fumes etc.0
