morning, hope things are going smoothly.
Feisty, glad the news is better, and he will be home soon.
Pinksteps I think it is a lovely thing to do with your dads ashes
Princess Kitty, Waiting for redundancy is like waiting for the dentist, but after the dentist your smile is brighter, after redundancy your whole life can improve. Your job is out there, and it won't go past you.
Well after complaining about the weather holding me back, we got a good one yesterday, got the front border re-organised and re-planted to give the shrubs a better place, then cut all the grass, did the edges, potted up a raft of lavender seedlings and planted 4 garden tubs. Then I earthed up the potatoes and staked the sweet peas. Today I can't move, but I'm not complaining, especially as it is grey, threatening with rain clouds. They do say god invented rain to make gardeners do their housework! Not me, not today. Today I am making a list of all the things DDil wants me to take out with me, and making a plan of getting it all. That way I don't have to move a lot! Off to make pain relief coffee, and maybe visit neighbour/lovely friend with cake.0 -
Hi guys, have not been here for such a long time and many many pages - I hope you are all well.
Back to good health now and no more hospital admissions so have started to get myself back into normal life and thinking mode - it is very easy to become a "patient".
Have started cracking on with the Xmas stuff, have decided to give my dad a book hamper so picked up a couple of really good cheap books in WHSmiths last weekend, £1 each in sale section, have got a great "Keep calm and do a crossword" book with hundreds of puzzles in. So will get things to go with this.
Got some stuff for the kiddies stuffed away from Mr T's, so now feel like I am making a start.
Will promise to keep checking in from now on, haven't gone back over any pages as there just seems so many.
Take care and hugs to you all X0 -
Gettingtherequickly, caitlyn and mrs invisible, thank you for your supportive words, they have made me feel much better! The sensible part of my brain knows that nothing bad is happening but sometimes emotions can take over. I'm not feeling too well today so I perhaps blame that a little bit for not being able to get out of my slump yesterday. I will really miss the people, but I am trying to look to the future and just grin and bear the rest of the time I have there. Thinking about Christmas today has cheered me up!
And caitlyn that video was adorable - I think I am in a very emotional state at the moment as it actually made me cry!!
pinksteps what a lovely idea having a ring made like that, i've never heard of that before. And well done on your Christmas shopping - someone finished already!!
Nanamia that is good of you to speak to that play worker's manager and get her some recognition, sometimes I don't think we're as good as we can be at praising people - but we're quick to complain - i'm certainly guilty of it sometimes!!0 -
Some of you were kind enough to help me through a little cake meltdown I had before the wedding, as you know I did go ahead and do it myself and I thought i'd share a pic with you from the big day:
It wasn't quite as good as some of the practice cakes I made and the photo isn't great (it's not one of the professional ones) but you can get a gist of what it was like. Bless my parents, they were helping me out when I asked them to 'dust' icing sugar over the top of it in the morning, but for some reason they also took a pastry brush to it so it didn't have the lightly dusted look I was after!
craftymummy I meant to say in my last post that I hope your daughter is doing a bit better today - i'm sure I would have balled my eyes out!0 -
Princess what on earth were you worrying about?!? Flipping gorgeous! I actually think the photo looks very professional, could see it being used to sell your awesome cakes
Sadly DH is still in. He developed an irregular beat late last night. As he's on high dependency it is very noisy and he hasn't slept for more than cat naps for the last weekI'm worried its having a negative impact on his mental and physical health. They have given him a sedative, but he still wakes up with the noise (very vocal neighbour) I just want him to take care go now
On the long drive to the hospital I saw a lorry on the motorway that had written; "best friends with Christmas since 1899" on its side (Matthew walker) and it definitely bought a smile to my face. Felt as if you were all there supporting me after a disappointing start to the dayxxx

princess it looks oh so wonderful! glad you had a lovely day. I'm off to two weddings this year, none of which i've had any involvement with which is rather novel... i'm a qualified wedding planner you see, one is my step brothers and one is a friends.. since i've had my dd4 i've taken a break but both are rather silly cause i know i could have saved them thousands...lol
Sorry to hear mr feisty is back on high dep, hope it all stabilises soon for you xx
I've been hunting out xmas signs yesterday, mostly for my elf group of fb so i can bombard it when people start coming back again (usually by the end of the summer hols)
The gigglewick house is full of tension, dd1 is busy with her final gcse exams, dd3 is doing her sats, dd2 is just a stress head with hormones, dh well is just dh... grumpy due to our neighbours keeping us all up late with thier diy goings on.. hope that finishes soon! i've got a sty on my eye from lack of sleep so im grumpy too. Roll on a few weeks time so we can have a week of rest.Totally debt free wohooo 2014

Hi all. I'm currently in full swing organising ds's Skylanders party. Got loads of ideas from Pinterest and am trying to pull it all together. Ds decided he wanted to invite his whole class, that's 28 kids plus 15 kids from friends and family. Luckily I'm not paying per child! I've hired a room and a bouncy castle. My brother will play music on his iPhone docking station. I've printed out loads of Skylanders pics to colour in and just need to buy some felt tips.
Other than the food I'm organised. It's a week on Sunday so will be putting together list of cheap foods that can be bought in bulk over the next couple of days.
Have 2 weeks in Tunisia booked for 6th of June. Can't wait to sit on beach and do nothing. Had a mad busy couple of months.
Hugs to all that need them. Especially you Feisty, can't imagine what you are going through. xSavings Account - £0.00
Weight Loss - 33lbs lost 9lbs to go0 -
Some of Aprils wages have finally cleared, so after looking at my finances we are not as bad off as I thought
This months bills are almost all paid and I have put aside enough to cover next months with £100 buffer. As you can see from my signature I had enough to top my savings up to reach the £1k markI am trying to ignore the fact that there should be almost £2k in there and just concentrate on the fact it has gone up, not down. Plus DH is talking about discharging himself (only trivial things that could be handled by GP are keeping him in) so it looks like today is a good day!
