    Xmas Saver!
    Hi everyone,

Sorry for going awol again :o but I don't think I have ever been as fed up as I feel at the moment.

Everything is just getting to me, and then this morning the washing machine packed up. It is only 3 years old. The main board has gone so it is not worth repairing. So tomorrow after work I am going shopping to spend money I don't really have.(spent it all doing the house up) May have to get it on my Argos card on bnpl.

Still haven't cut the grass, as I have either had a dicky tummy, been too down or the weather has been pants. Last Monday was nice, but we had a gas cloud over the area and I couldn't stay out in it. I have never smelt anything like it, we all thought there was a major leak in the street. The gas board said they had been getting calls from all over the town all day.

I think my birthday is going to be a non entity. I really can't be bothered to do anything.

I have not read all the posts but did clock the ones from FF. I hope your DH is doing Ok. It must be very worrying. It makes me feel a bit sad and selfish that I feel so down when you are going through such a worrying time.

OMO, please don't feel sad. I have learnt that in life you can't possibly gauge your problems against others. They are personal to you and are having an impact on you, so of course you have every right to feel upset, stressed, anxious etc x

Princess I have made a mental note (will probably forget) to pick one of those up for MIL. She treated me to lunch at the hospital Friday and we were chatting about Christmas, she said she saves throughout the year - so it will be perfect!

Freespirit, I too have B&M envy! Those look amazing, very jealous :)

DH was quite tired today :( My five hours there just whizzes past. It's almost a 2 hour round trip so quite mentally draining. He is booked to have an atrial fibrillation tomorrow morning - slightly nervous as it means more dreaded General Anaesthetic, but I'm hoping it means we may see him home mid week :)

freespirit66 That is exactly how I feel. I have nothing to say. Seeing my GP only makes me feel worse as she just never listens.

I have just ordered a new washing machine. Am collecting this afternoon after work. Got it on bnpl.

I so hate buying things like this. You just never know if it is going to be right for your household needs. It will look a little funny as it is going next to a black freezer, but as the rest of the downstairs is black and white I will tell people it was the look I was aiming for.:D

    Good plan OMO ;)

I am shattered, ended up accidentally sleeping in today - was actually woken up by a client phoning with a query - whoops!

Well it is official, unless I make any shop orders we have 0 money coming in this week - not a sausage, now that is a huge worry :(

    Hello!!
Sorry for just darting in and out and not being much apart of the thread, life is rather hectic!
Franklin is 5 months old today, can you believe it?!
He is finally starting to put on weight and generally a very content and happy little boy who can already sit up unaided!
He is in a mixture of 6-9 and 9-12 month clothes!

    How is everyone??

We have been carbooting a fair amount the past few weeks when the weather has been nice and remember how I said I had no idea what to get a 1 year old for Christmas? Well I don't seem to be struggling too much now :rotfl:

I have done almost all of his Birthday and Christmas presents! A few things I have got from amazon thanks to valued opinions such as the octopals bath toys
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tomy-2756-Octopals-Bath-Toy/dp/B0007D7O22/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368458307&sr=8-1&keywords=octopals

    and
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000GZ942Y/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    and
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00068Q7LC/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and at carboot sales I managed to get him the vtech sort and roar rocket for £1.50 which is like new  this is for his birthday but i have already had hours of fun with it myself :D highly recommend it! I have had various vtech, fisher price type toys for a couple of pounds maximum, bob the builder things, thomas the tank things, all sorts! He has a dedicated box for birthday and one for christmas and they are both full now for less than £30 total which I am amazed about. I even got him a walker, took it apart, cleaned it, repaired it and although faded serves its purpose perfectly.

He has even been lucky enough to have some toys for now such as a musical bear toy, crawl ball, telephone etc which I am so pleased about because this time last year i had no idea if we could afford that sort of thing. :)

Left for him for Christmas I really want to get him the toot toot garage with the 3 pack of cars but I am saving survey vouchers for that.

Now that he is almost sorted I need to turn my focus to my hubby and i'd like to get him a coffee machine or possibly use Tesco vouchers for a day trip or something. We have decided to sort Franklin and each other and everyone else comes after that :o

hope everyone is doing well, must dash baby just started screaming !
Everything is always better after a cup of tea

Oh my goodness Chirpy, I can't believe he is 5 months already!

Well DH's op has been postponed until tomorrow - quite annoying as they originally weren't happy to leave it more that 48 hours (last Thursday) but said they had no choice due to last weeks surgery complications. So we were given the all clear on the complications Saturday so I have no idea why they are dragging their heels now.

So DH has decided he wont be seeking compensation :( I am quite annoyed but as the accident didn't happen to me (I just get to share in the emotional stress and financial burden) I don't really get a say. His hospital stay will have cost about £1k minimum once we take into account his and my loss of earnings, so deposit will be cleared out. Trying not to get overly annoyed with him, but I admit it is a bit of a struggle :(

Evening everyone, am shattered, finally got cakes finished this morning, i am not happy with them at all, i definitely have lost my knack in the birthday cake department, even my DS said " yeah its not your best, mum" :rotfl::rotfl:gotta love his honesty!! So i think i am going into retirement, they can have bought ones next year :) At least kids birthdays all done now for this year, i can carry on getting small bits and doing surveys for xmas :T
OMO my gp is like that sometimes she is brilliant, and sometimes i could bloody throttle her, she doesnt listen, or comes out with something really insensitive. You really dont sound like yourself, i wish we could help :) and i also dont like buying big things like WM you never know how long they are going to last, whether you should have gone for the more expensive one etc etc sending <<hugs>>
FEISTY oh dont they like messing people around sometimes?? they never explain the whys and wherefores?? I am not surprised you woke up late, you must need the sleep. Regarding the compensation, i understand you are annoyed, you need to take a deep breath and take a step back honey, you are probably more angry because you are tired and frustrated with all the worry of his ill health and lack of money, sending you both lots of <<hugs>>
CHIRPYCHICK aaahhh where has the time gone 5 months already?? you are super organised with Franklins birthday and xmas, what a lot of bargains, that will take a lot of worry away from finding the pennies at xmas time x

The Spider-Man cake was for my friend who has just finished her chemo/radio therapies dd :) she was over the moon. Her little princess has delighted with it she's had such a tough time with her Mummy being poorly.
The second was a commiseration cake for my Man City mad neighbour who announced he neeeeeeded cake ha:)
Pinksteps don't be disappearing off again we miss your posts! Ooooh your DS will love the uggs:) have they mentioned the next plan for his leg? We need him up and dancing as soon as!!! Well done you for getting on with Christmas and managing to start with your Mum, it's not going to be easy for you all. I got a pashmina too, very pleased with it xxx
Doodygirl you are definitely in the right place here amongst these lovelies, Christmas is coming :) Well done on your wins too
Trendy how are you my lovely? Looking after yourself? Being kind to yourself? And knitting? As always PM if you fancy or I can be of ANY use. We seriously need an update on the where's wally hats :) xxx
Feisty and Mr Feisty oh my word you have been through it:( try not to worry about the money side of things it's far more important to get DH home safely convalescing with you. I know exactly how you feel re compensation (unfortunately I've had two instances in the last few years and have not claimed, I could not have gone through the questions/procedure etc which my family found hard to understand) so for me it wasn't the right route. However you two need to do whatever you need to do to get strong again, your DH doesn't need to decide now which path to follow. I'm sure being Little Miss Organised you are documenting events and making notes of expenses etc just in case he changes his mind sssshhhh :) xxx
Is he going to need a pacemaker? And nodal ablation ? Sending healing, soothing vibes to you both. And please remember it is just as important to look after yourself xxx
Caitlyn oh my word what adorable photographs, I love them, I love the informal ones of you and DH, the ones that catch the way you look at each other, I lovvvveee the black and white ones, the ones too of the gorgeous children, think I like the informal ones the best, I love the cheeky ones of DH posing, the ones of your rings and shoes, the one of your maid of honour kissing her DS oh my word so cute, even a photo of the music score, love it. You look amazing, radiant, fantasic and your dress wow its perfect :) Those little children are so super cute :) The only tad of disappointment was to see you are not a Caitlyn ha ha I'm sure there is a story behind that! And a quick nosey question is that "you know who in the black and white dress with the white facinator ?
Freespirit I always find that's the way, the cakes you want to be perfect never go to plan. Regularly happens to me so don't retire just yet. My DS is "honest" too ha I sent him the photo of the tank cake I did a few weeks ago and he txt straight back saying it was "good but the gun could've done with being longer" so I txt a photo straight back of it from a different angle and he replied "that better" 10,000 miles away and still my harshest critic :) Im feeling a little weird at the mo! Not really sure why or what's up so I'm functioning and trying to get plenty of rest. I'm on my countdown now six weeks on Thursday :) Been in touch with DS and his family a lot over the weekend, think they are even more excited than me. DGD1 has given me a list of things to bring in my suitcase, she's asked for things from our house that she's remembered silly things like her tray and one or two of the books I read to her when she was little :)
Linky Oh bless you what a blooming rough time you've had recently:( Come on chin up, you are going to get through this, the same way you've been through tough times before. Remember you are strong, kind, loving and a wonderful Mum :) You are the heart and soul of our thread, we need you. xxx
Jakesbakescakes another two pound loss today :) that make my "club 10" (well it would if I went to classes) so I've now lost 10% of my original weight :) How are you doing? xxx
Chirpy go girl, well done you :) You are doing so well x
Craftymummy if you ever see anything that you want from B&M I'd be happy to post on to you :) don't think it'd be worth it with the jars cos of the weight but bare it in mind xxx

But the Christmas things you do
