Nana thank you for the clarity/perspective you have helped no end :) last time he came out from hospital all the fear, anxiety and stress boiled over into an argument I picked over his stressful job. I'm mindful that I don't want the same thing to happen with the compensation.

He may need an ablation if this keeps happening - so far it's happened twice in five years, so they're not overly worried (I think) surgery is definitely scheduled for 'some time' this afternoon. Would really like him home now lol

Feisty as mrsinvisible says hang in there, things will get better. I know it's difficult not to get stressed about money but as nanamia says just concentrate on you and OH and both your healths (it's not good for you either all of the stress) and as my wise DH says 'everything will come out in the wash' - and it usually does. xx

OMO sorry to hear you're having a hard time, it always seems to be one thing after another at times! Hopefully now things will get a bit better and your new washing machine will behave itself!

Chirpy well done on getting all of those presents, they all sound fab! Franklin will be spoiled. :) I'm happy to hear you're finding presents easily, at least you don't have to worry about it then.

freespirit it's the effort that you've made with the cakes that should be appreciated! I actually did a cake decorating course way back last year and I still don't seem to be very good at it! :(

Nanamia i'm at work at the moment so it won't display your lovely cake pics, but i'll make sure I have a peek when I get home! :)

Unfortunately i'm feeling quite down today. :( As I mentioned before i'm due to be made redundant at the end of June, which i've got used to, but things are just a bit rubbish at work now so i'm feeling quite de-motivated and a bit unahppy to be here. Sorry I know compared to others problems this is nothing but the whole situation is getting on top of me a bit and I just can't help feeling sad today, no matter how much I try to coax myself out of it. I'm usually a fairly positive person but it's getting to me today. I think it's because we spend so much time at work and when it's like this it's difficult to find the motivation and get up and go. This used to be such a great place to work.

Pinksteps don't be disappearing off again we miss your posts! Ooooh your DS will love the uggs:) have they mentioned the next plan for his leg? We need him up and dancing as soon as!!! Well done you for getting on with Christmas and managing to start with your Mum, it's not going to be easy for you all. I got a pashmina too, very pleased with it xxx

Yes, I'm still here. DS has to wait another month or so before we know any more but he is busy managing to take Teddy for a walk which is great.

Well, deciding to get out of my rut I decided to have a clear out and because i don't have transport my DD suggested I have a facebk account and sell locally. Well last week I started and I have tidy house and £392 in my pocket. Goodness talk about one mans junk etc. The main joy was everything was collected and taken away. So that is buying my new ring, I am having my dads ashes made into glass so I can take him with us always. So ring is ordered and things are looking up. I know it would not be everyones cup of tea to do with the ashes but my dad was a bl**dy hoarder and would find the fact that i sold puppy chewed rugs etc to exchange for jewellery bloomin hilarious :D

Nanamia - that is such a kind offer, thank you. But you're right, with those great jars the p&p would be high. Fab cakes too! You're very talented.
Feisty - try to stay positive. The most important thing is that your DH will be healthy, the rest will sort itself out. Hope he has his operation today.
The weather is just so miserable here today. Haven't done much as have DD off school. She shut her hand in my car door and ended up taking her to A&E last night to get it checked out. She couldn't make a fist with her hand and it was bruised pretty badly. Luckily nothing's broken. She was so tired, just let her rest today. She was so brave, didn't cry and even refused a free bar of chocolate that the lady at tesco has offered her. (We were in tesco's car park when the accident happened)
Pinksteps - well done you for selling all that stuff! Did you use your own FB page to do it? We've been meaning to do a carboot for a while but with the weather being so bad, don't think it will happen. Got a lot of stuff to get rid of. I like the idea of your ring, something that I would do. I'm sure your dad would love it too.

Know how you feel and can honestly say, it will work out for the better. Quite a few of us were made redundant in a job that we all had loved, but eventually grew to hate and the redundancy period was awful, made worse by the fact that I knew more about employment law than the HR manager of the company that took us over, so trying to keep everyone jivvied up by telling them that we were being given incorrect information was incredibly difficult. End result was that it cost the company alot more that they thought it would to get rid of us and after 6 months I got a permanent job I love again (now here 6 years). I am probably on the same salary (had to take a hefty cut) now as I was when I left, but the virtually non existant stress, comparatively, and considerably reduced hours that I work, means that I am happier, healthier and definitely less stressed.

Your ideal job is out there, you will know when it comes along.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

I made a 2nd profile because I didn't want strangers viewing mine and you get so much in your timeline it's not worth it. I just searched for a buy and sell page for the city I'm in and it had over 14,000 members !
