  • Good morning

I've done it again and left this thread run for far too long and now I don;t know if I can catch up on 6 weeks worth so I will go back and read the last few pages to catch up.

Our little bean has stuck so far and I am currently 8 1/2 weeks pregnant and it's still only just starting to sink in. Money is a big worry but I'm trying not to think about it too much about that at the moment.

I hope everybody is well and I will hop back on later once I've caught up

I was once told that no-one ever feels they can afford a new baby Island Mum, but they always manage to make things work - you will be fine :)

Just wanted to share my proud achievement with you all - firstly I hate confrontation, and if my cousin is arguing with me over something (usually petty) then I will just give in and not say anything more on the subject. Well after how her middle child reacted to his birthday present at the weekend, I am still feeling quite annoyed. This has given me a burst of inner strength - told her we were fairly certain we would be moving out of the area next year. When she tried to argue, I told her flat out that I refuse to pay more money for a local house I am not happy with. We have invited them round for lunch for possibly the first time in a year and I have told her exactly what we are having and when she kindly asked if she should bring anything, I plucked up my courage and messaged her to say it may be worth bring a back up lunch incase any of her children weren't keen on what I was offering - usually there are full blown tantrums etc over them not liking my food and demands for alternatives - not this time! :)

  • Well done Feisty! Keep up the good work
It's not easy sometimes to say these things but in the long run its bet for everyone. At least everyone knows where they stand.

    :T THANKS :T

Just spent the last hour picking, cropping and ordering prints.
I could only get them down to £4.94 each, as they kept adding a special coating even when I declined it. But I'm not really that bothered. I have some lovely pictures of Robbie with various people to use a gifts.
    Your welcome :D
    Glad it helped
Saving and buying for Christmas 2013!! :rudolf::xmassmile:xmastree::snow_grin :D
  • freespirit66-Thankyou, sorry your DS had to go thorough it! xx

FeistyFidget-Thanks Feisty, yes Ill bring it up at parents evening next week. x Well done on speaking your mind/being firm, i really struggle with it too! x

Nanamia-What a busy day you had! I felt exhausted just reading it lol. Thankyou I have written it all down and will take my notes with me! x Ive pretty much erased secondary school too (or tried too!) That time was just horrible both in and out of school. (not at home but problems with people who lived in our area) :( xx

Trendyjenny-Good luck with your hats, sounds fun! :)

Hi Island_Mum. :) Try not to worry about money, things will always work out in the end. xx

Ive just bought DS a mini football table for £4 from Facebook, naughty really as he has enough for his birthday but he always makes a beeline for these at arcades/waiting rooms etc so I think he'll enjoy it.
I need a really big clear out but its just finding the motivation to do it. Can barely find the motivation for basic things right now! :/ DS' wardrobe is absolutely stuffed full of toys/games he doesnt play with though (he has a Tardis canvas wardrobe so can squeeze a lot in lol) so really need to do it!

Feisty well done you. Go girl :) you should be very proud of yourself. Something definitely needed saying and you've done it now :) And paperwork sorted what a difference a couple of days can make. xxx

Island mummy few of us would ever have babies if we waited until we thought we could afford them! You've got plenty of love to give and that's priceless. I notice your DDs birthday is coming up too have you any plans?

Moneysavingmumofone I've thought a few times about the fact my secondary school years are a total blank (and one dr in particular wanted to investigate further because he thought it was so peculiar) I have clear memories of the school bus, parties outside school and boyfriends but inside those school gates not a thing. Over the last twenty years or so I've met people who have said they knew me from school and a few who said they taught me but I've no memory of them what so ever. Don't think it was my best time! I just know you are going to find the strength to deal with parents evening :) Think lioness :) xxx

Trendyjenny have you started your hats :) glad you are posting you know I like to keep an eye on you all :) xxx

Freespirit I hope your back is feeling better and you've taken it easy today. What a lovely thing to say:) Don't think my DH would agree today. He thinks I'm spreading myself a bit thin! Think some TLC is required:)

Hiding from DD didn't work today, DGD2 stayed with me "helping" with the cake whilst she popped to tesco would you believe she's adding to the to-do-list just when I thought it was done :) I did chuckle when I read " have smear" well there's no way I can do that for her :) The things these children want from us. Day off tomorrow from her though Im saying very quietly - she's at college so will only mither at break times! I might actually get something done in the new bedroom when the cakes finished :)
    Night night lovelies xxx
