freespirit66 tell your dd it will get better. I have been in 2 bad crashes, and I eventually got over both of them.
In one I was hit from behind while at a junction. I did exactly the wrong thing, I looked in my mirror, saw they were not going to stop and stiffened up. The police told me if the kids had been in the back, they would have died. I never saw the car, but my Dad did and he said their was no back to the car, it ended at my seat.
I was very nervous at junctions for months after I started driving again.
The other crash was slightly different. A teenage girl who was riding her bike down the pavement, decided to cross the road without looking. One minute I was driving dd to school, the next I had a girl and bike under my car. Not a good feeling, sitting in the drivers seat in complete shock, knowing you have to get out, but not wanting to.
Unbelievably, she crawled out, dragged her bike out and started to limp away. I remember sitting there, looking at the man who had stopped his car opposite and staring at him in bewilderment.
The girl walked her bike into the school grounds. I drove into their car park, got out and walked to the school. Word had obviously got to the school, and I think they could tell by the look of me I was the driver.
They gave me a cup of tea, and told me she was fine, there was witnesses, and it wasn't my fault, and the police were on their way. The police came and took statements, and I never heard another thing about it.
I still don't like bikes.
But I got over both crashes. I still sometimes get a horrid feeling, but it only lasts seconds.0 -
Lord, what a remarkable escape that girl had! glad you got over it too. It does get better, and your DD will get over this, but its a good excuse (not that we need one) to get in lots of extra hugs. Didnt get any valentiney bits yesterday maybe luckier today The cakestand sounds gorgeous, pity we dont have a sainsberry nearby. Will try Wilkinsongs again today.0

Omo you poor thing, having someone go under the car is possibly the worst thing that can happen to a motorist! So glad everyone came away unhurt.
Well I have decided I deserve almost a whole weekend to myself. I have minor adjustments to finish off some orders this morning, ready for customers to collect throughout the day. I'm going to give the flat a quick clean and tidy as have guests coming for lunch. Will whip up a sponge - filling with my homemade festive jam and some ultimate cookies. Will enjoy my afternoon tea with friends and then my belated valentines is with DH tonight
Tomorrow will be only an hour or so of work, visiting my nan and then I plan to be home by 11 where I am not budging from the sofa all day - bliss

I am annoyed.
Background -
The house next door to mine is a 3 bed council house. About 2 years ago a family of 4 moved in. The oldest boy is disabled.
Last year the dad and youngest boy moved out as he was told he had to start looking for work, as the mum could look after both boys. So he is now a single parent of a toddler (Doesn't need to seek employment) and she is a single parent of a disabled child ( Doesn't need to seek employment).
Last week she tells me she is moving to a nice 2 bed association house in another part of town, as this road is too rough.
This road is not rough, she doesn't want to pay for the spare room when the bedroom tax starts.
So about 5 minutes ago I get a text message from the Dad (Who doesn't live here, but is always here). It says -
(My name but with the last letter repeated 7 times) Pretty pretty pretty please ( older disabled boys name) is asking if you would let him know your broadband code, so he can use his i-pad. He isn't feeling well today.
:mad::mad::mad:
I have ignored it, but the blo0dy cheek of it.
They could download anything and leave me with the bill. What's happened to their broadband ?
They are always pleading poverty. But I know they have a lot more money coming in than I do.
Rant over. I just needed to tell someone.0 -
