Evening everyone,
thankyou BETSIE2010 she will be fine im sure
OMO oh my god they both sound horrific, you are one tough cookie, cos i know i would never get in a car again let alone drive, you sound as if you were very lucky to get out of it if the back had completely gone and thank god your kids werent in it!! Your neighbours sound like they know exactly how to work the system, cheeky sods!
FEISTY hope you had a lovely afternoon tea#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Hi everyone x having really tough time at mo x work home and money related suffice to say I'm going to doc's to increase medication x
Just want to hide under bed and never come out !0 -
OMO, did you ignore the text or did you respond? It really annoys me to see people abusing the system in the way. My Step Dad is the same, sick note after sick note declaring him unfit for work and yet he spends every waking moment out of the house seeing his mates and doing the 'odd job' My bloody Mother has even told me that she prefers him not working as they are better off financially! People that do this not only ruin it for those that genuinely need the system, they also give all people unable to work a bad name
Jenny so sorry your feeling down sweet. I think seeing the doctor is a good idea so you can get your medications increased
free spirit my afternoon tea was lovely, check out the blog for pictures of my bakes
Well my laptop is slowly dying the final death. I was paying £7.99 a month with PC World to have it repaired for free, but they took over two months last time which means I would be unable to work with the cutting machine for that length of time. I cancelled it on Friday in a fit of rage when I tried to remove the casing to check a connection and it snappedI'm thinking of picking up a second hand laptop for under £100 but I'm worried that it will be just as terrible and buggy as my current one. PC World has them for under £300 new in store, but it would mean clearing out my house deposit fund
I know I would be able to put this money back in within 6 weeks, but it's still money that is being taken away from the deposit
I just don't know what to do.

Is anyone here picking up bits for Christmas 2013? I have started, pleased so far as I think this is going to be a much easier and nicer Christmas than last year
Also putting away £20 a month as a buffer for Christmas meals/January.

I wouldn't go with a cheap laptop unless you know the person you're buying it from and know how they have used it.. They just don't last so dead money in my opinion... Specially if you are using it to boost your income too.
OMO damn cheek of them, i'd reply with sorry didn't set it up don't know the password lol then report them. the cheek of some is unbelieveable.
Got our wardrobe built yesterday, bloomin palava that was lol it was soooo heavy! and the delivery men just dumped it in my hall instead of the room it was meant to go, lucky it wasn't as flat pack as they sold it as, was just 5 pieces but still heavy to build, looks nice though, just got to sort the rest of the crap oops i mean dh's belongings out lol. I also drove my car for the first time in 15 months (dh drove home though as i got a bit worked up) ... no sane reason i haven't really, just lost confidence and dh has used it more than me and i took up walking to lose weight so not really used it at all. Got to go across town and pick dd3 up in 30 mins so shall attempt it again. Got to drive to brighton in the summer so needs to be done!
The next week i need to sort through the pressie cupboard as i've run out of room :O got a sherpa jacket for my bil friday.. was £99 down to £4.99 so fab bargain.. got one for dh too but he can have that when it comes. need to update my totals. so thats just 3 family gifts left to get now :O hopefully those will be got before june and then i can get the main pressies sorted for the girls. Xmas pfft easyTotally debt free wohooo 2014

morning all!
missemmajane have been pickng up nice bits and peices in the sales when I see them, always worth keeping an eye on the grabbit board, for example I just got a DS game which I think my DS will really enjoy from the reviews. for £3 deliveredxx
OMO how terrible those crashes sound! I was very lucky mine was minor but although Im perfectly fine, if traffic slows in front of me ive always got an eye on the people behind me in my mirror, not that that would help Im sure! Im totally outraged by your neighbour! what a damn cheek they have, I dont blame you for shopping them ... funny how they can afford an Ipad if things are so bad isnt it????? make me so cross!
I just had a bet with myself that somebody would post in the Ugg Earmuffs offer thread saying 'how much!!???' and kicking off about spending £35 on Ugg earmuffs ... and of course I won! why do people go into a thread for something they wouldnt buy?!! live and let live, stop bloody lecturing people!!
I remember when the whole lloyds/Nat West or whatever it was thing happened where the computer system failed and no dd's, credits or anything were going into accounts and people couldnt get money out? somebody posted they had returned form holiday and couldnt get cash or something hadnt been paid, and somebody actually posted in reply 'you shouldnt have gone on holiday if you didnt have the available cash put by in case something unforseen happened' .... Im still astonished to this day, is there a forum somewhere for Sanctimonious Pious Idiots R Us???
PS - random but useful - Lidl have packs of 18 Penguins for 87p0 -
sorry I have been packing to go away so not been around. we are going to my mum and dad's to do Christmas as we didn't see them in December. It seems strange buying thing for 2013 when we haven't done 2012 yet. I also have all the birthdays for 2013 wrapped and ready to take so that will clear a bit of space here. I know at least one person will say "what birthday presents already!"
Feisty I have my fitbit all set up and at the moment it is still a novelty! what do I do to add you?
sorry not commenting on individual posts but have to say OMO what a cheek:eek:
I am taking my laptop so will definately read but also try to postsaving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -
Oh Snugglebunny8 you do make me laugh.:D Betting against yourself.
I must admit, although I have never posted, I have in the past  at some of the prices of these grab-it bargains. I always wonder how many of the people getting excited about them are in debt, and getting them on a cc.
But there are some strange people out there. Last night I was trying to help a young lad with aspergers, who lived in support housing, but was worried about all the benefit changes.
He was so worried he had posted on 3 threads and started one of his own. I replied to all these threads to put his mind as ease, he thanked me and said he felt better, when someone else stuck their nose in and said, 'It's not that easy my gf had a nightmare, it took 16 months of fighting to get any money. And she had had to get professional help.
Just what the poor lad needed to hear at 12.30 this morning. So I started again and explained the girls disability was different, and the lad had help around him, as he lived in supported housing, but the bloke would not give in. I told him 5 times the lad had asd, but he was so ignorant he didn't understand.
I was getting so cross, because I could see my ds standing where this lad was and believing every word this bloke typed and getting in a real state.
I am going to pm him today and check he is OK.
Well we have done a full month on my smaller wage now, and we haven't noticed. So that just goes to show how much we must have wasted without realising it.
In fact I had to check the bank twice as we had more in there than we used to have left.
I was never just flippant with money, but when I think about it; when I went into town to the bank, I would pop into the 99p shop and easily spend £10, if not more. There is a small branch of my bank in a village I go though to get to work, so I have been using that this month, and have spent nothing.
I have also started getting my milk from the Happy Shopper around the corner. It is dearer, but I don't buy anything else. I can't do that if I get it in Morrisons. A £1.30 bottle of milk cost £15-£20 in there. :rotfl:
FF You never know, these new benefit changes may just hit your SD. It so annoying when you go to work for less than people who choose not to.
Next door had friends round for another drinking session last night, and where out the front making a racket again. (Which was why I was still on here at 12.30 this morning). I just keep reminding myself they are going soon.0 -
