  • I dislike hobbycraft as I personally believe it is way too expensive! If I'm being craft related bits I always get them from ebay, far cheaper and a much greater range ;)

Laptop situation solved :) My bestie's partner is an IT consultant. He had an old laptop that he said will be fine for what I need it for. He is upgrading it to windows 7 for me. It has the same ram as my current one but 40gb more memory - all for £80. I have managed to complete £65 worth of paper-cuts this weekend and found £10 in my purse, result!

  • Hello all. :)

OMO-That girl was extremely lucky!

    FeistyFidget-Glad you sorted out a laptop. :)

Popped to Sainsburys today specifically to see if they had any pink heart shaped oven dishes left and they had two left! :j Only £4. :) They also had a few random 70% toy reductions, I got a Spiderman Klip Kitz set for a birthday party DS is invited to and a Moshi monsters moshling zoo for £4.49, not sure if for DS or my niece yet. They also had Spiderman megabloks sets down to £4.49, Moshi monsters collector cards tins £2.99, Barbie beauty journal shaped like a book filled with make up £2.99, Aquadraw £5.99, Bead creation set £5.99, Design a monster Monster high sets for £9.99 or £11.99 and a few other things.

On the subject of nightmare neighbours I am rather worried that if we do get a swap we will get bad neighbours. We are really lucky here that even though we are a block of 5 flats plus a block of flats attached on the other side we have never had any problems in 6 years other than a one off of someones friend smoking cannabis in the hallway and someone in the other block blaring music out at 6am (sounded like their alarm clock radio) for a while. I suppose Ill cross that bridge if we actually do get a swap lol.

  • Feisty the cookies you featured on your blog sound divine - do you share recipes at all?

  • Just popping in to say hi . I've been reading however haven't had anything meaningful to contribute recently.

I need to get my rear in gear though as I have just discovered I have 2 birthdays this year which I hadn't realised - a 50th and a 70th so I need to factor those into my planning.

Mr T had some nice tins of chocs and toffees yesterday for £2. The tin is in the design of a double decker bus and the bb date is Sept 2013 so I think they would make good Father's Day gifts. I'm going back tomorrow for another couple.

I may not have much to add but I do enjoy reading your updates. You really are an inspirational bunch:)

  • Dropsofjupiter, will post the recipe for you over the next few days - polished off the last two cookies last night, they went so quick!

OMO you poor thing, going to hazard a guess that admin that shut the other thread down. I don't think it's you in a negative way, I think people are jealous of your caring nature and how you go out of your way to help others. You attract a lot of fans because of this and trolls like to be the center of attention!

My goal for the week ahead is to try and continue finding the perfect routine (especially as placement will now be lasting well into August) and upload three new items for the papercut store. I did a wedding themed cut yesterday and have the finishing touches to add to my bag. Just need to create more and then photograph the lot!

Anyone else have any goals set for the week? x

Hellooo everyone!!! Just trying to catch up as we've had no internet for a few days.....well I'm currently house-bound as I can't walk any further than a few metres without crippling SPD pains...luckily my mum's offered to help me out of I need to get into town etc or need any shopping bringing up. So I've spent the morning composing my Christmas List :D

Gonna post it here again as it was so much easier to keep track of and edit last year....hope you all don't mind? :o

Who I have to buy for:-

    Mum
    Dad
    FIL
    MIL
    Grandma
    DD (3)
    DS (9 months)
    Brother 1 (17)
    Brother 2 (19)
    Sister 1 (22)
    Sister 2 and SIL (30 and 45)
    Niece 1 (1)
    Niece 2 (5)
    Niece 3 (4)
    Niece 4 (4)
    Nephew (20)
    Best Friend (19)

^^ I will add all the presents I've already bought once I tackle my present cupboard later today^^

Slightly sad looking at my list this year as it has decreased rather significantly....My OH has put his foot down and said we're no longer buying for the people that don't make the effort with us. So that's 2 of my brothers, my SIL, her 2 grown up kids, 2 of my best friends (one of which moved down to London in September last year for uni and since then I could count on one hand the amount of texts/phonecalls I've received from him since then :( Sad when I think how many years we've been friends) also this year my Brother gave up custody of his 1yr old girl and handed her over to her mum full-time....within a month of this happening she moved to Devon and hasn't given anyone the new address etc so I won't have her to spoil this year :/ So that's 8 less people this year that I feel I still should be buying for as they're family at the end of the day but when some of them didn't even say so much as a thankyou last year it's really bothered my OH :/

Anyway sorry guys I'm rambling......expect this often now that all I have to fill my days is sitting around on the internet waiting for my little man to arrive :D
  • totally get where your OH is from, but feel for youtoo opie, so sad when families fragment. The sun has temptd me into the greenhouse, and I have started to bring backsome of the perenniels that hve been overwintered in there. Also found that I ammissing a pane of glass, sowill have to gt that sorted out before I introduce any heat. Will start seeds off indoors until then.
Some of my baby polyanthus are ready to pot on and will be bigenough to fill a couple of baskets in March,
  • I've tried to cut my Christmas gift giving list but still have 32 to buy for x we a very big family with lots of children x
