moneysavingmumofone Im so sorry to hear that, you must be in a lot of pain! but am so proud of you for going, I know its very tough to go when you suffer a phobia of dentists, I find it so hard too
When you go to the sedation clinic, tell them about your needle phobia, they will give you a tablet sedative to take the night before and in the morning before you go in (it doesnt send you out of it, just relaxes you) they will also use the numbing cream on your skin so you won't feel the needle - just be sure to tell them about the needle phobia and they will sort that for you, also another tip I was given when I had sedation - your veins shrink from the skin if you are stressed or nervous (took them ages to find mine!) so she suggested the next time I put a heated pad (one of the lavender, wheat microwave bags) on your arms, wrists and hands on the way there if you can, or in the waiting room, helps them find a vein quicker and makes it easier for you, good luck - the sedation works so well its incredible, you literally remember nothing - you have the needle inserted and then the next thing you know is when theyve removed it and its all done! you don't feel like you are going to sleep or woozy after the needle is inserted, its like instant amnesia was how they explained it to me - and you literally know nothing until theyve removed it and you come to to find its all done, you don't feel sleepy or anything as you havent been to sleep, but you have to have somebody to drive you home and stay with you.
Hope that is of some helpThe nurse told me the first time that we had been discussing Nick Clegg during my treatment and they had a great conversation with me!! .. they talk to you to check you are ok, apparantly you have a perfectly normal chat but you know nothing about any of it afterwards!!
I presumed that they talked to me at a time they didnt have an instrument in my mouth!! xxxxxxxx
PrincessKitty how amazing! my travelling feet are itching! we did the Vegas, LA, San Fran, Pacific Highway, Yosemite, Big Sur, Fresno, Carmel, 15 mile drive, Pebble beach tour when we got married, loved every second of it - finally got to take the kids to San Fran and LA this year to show them it - I love the whole area, you are in for such a treat, its all just beautiful! Have always wanted to go to San Diego and see more of the national parks, regret never getting to The Grand Canyon to date, as the day we were meant to go from LV it was too foggy to flyhave a brilliant time, I know you will! xx

Thankyou SNUGGLEBUNNY and BUNBUN, throat not so sore today but headache that nothing will shift, didnt help that DD2 was involved in a 4 car accident this morning, she is ok, just shocked and upset, and shaken, while the ambulanceman was checking her over, she had a panic attack and he told her not to go in to work, just come home and keep warm. But then she had to phone insurance and go through all the rigmarole, but within 3 hours she had hire car delivered, so at least she has transport.
SNUGGLEBUNNY i will look into that with British Gas thankyou

freespirit, your poor daughter
I'm glad she was okay and just shaken. I am fortunate to never have been in a proper accident, I was run off a dual carriageway once and the car spun out. Was very scary but both me, the car and other motorists were all fine.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Thanks everyone, we are really excited about our trip. Although i'm not at all ready for it, i've been so focused on the wedding that I haven't prepared for the honeymoon yet! What do I pack for 3 weeks?!
Congratulations Island_mum! That's fantastic news. :T
freespirit66 sorry to hear about your daughter, she must have been really shaken up. Glad she was ok though. x
moneysavingmumofone well done on braving the dentist! I know it's daunting and you hate it but keep thinking about the future, and once the work is done your suffering should ease! It's a means to an end. Good luck with it all and keep us posted, we're here to help make it easier. x0 -

* dashes in, looking over shoulder, and quickly slams door*
Morning all! Relived to be back in a safe place. I was going to be adventurous and post on another forum - but they are so scary! I found a thread which looked interesting, but as I started to read the comments I changed my mind. Why are some people so nasty? Couldn't believe the sarcastic, almost vicious things that were being posted. So I ran back here, where there's none of that! Let's continue
supporting and helping each other on here, it's great to know how much we all care for each other.
Sorry for rambling, got a bit of a fright out there!
Anyway:-
Congratulations Island_mum, wonderful news!
moneysavingmumofone - well done for being brave!
Freespirit - glad your dd is ok. The shock of being in a car accident stays with you for ages, so give her plenty of TLC. x
Nanamia - when are you coming home? We miss you. Enjoy the last bits with your family. x
Feisty - loving the bag!
ok folks, time to go and do something with the day. Take care everyone. xxx0 -

FEISTY, PRINCESSKITTY AND LINDALOU thankyou re: DD2 she has gone off to work today, but i dont think she slept very well, i could hear her in the night getting up to get water etc. You never stop worrying about them no matter how old they are!!
I should be doing housework but major CBA today, i knew i shouldnt have picked up my laptop! LINDALOU stick with us, i have never known anyone be horrible on here, its shocking reading some of the other threads, i think some people just like to argue and wind people up for fun, they have got nothing better to do.#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Gosh, I've spent most of the morning catching up on here.
Firstly update on DS, he only has a cast on one leg this week as the other has done so well. This cast gets taken off Monday and then it's exercise etc for a few months to see if the muscles stay in place.
Thank you for all the well wishes regarding my dad, this morning he has gone into hospital with the last stages of heart failure so it's just a matter of time. Think I've had every emotion over the past week as I was convinced it would be his dementia and a slower end. But what will be will be and we still have him about for a tad :-)
A big thank you to omo for keeping me sane with cheery up texts. They really make a difference knowing that there is somebody 'there'.
So my DS informed me this morning there is 313 sleeps until Christmas and promptly dug out some cross stitch kits I'd forgotten about so that will keep my mind busy at the moment. I've had my few weeks of feeling sorry for myself what with DS and dad so nw it's back to reality. X0
