hello I've been reading but not posting - not really had alot to say.

thanks OMO for passing on pinksteps news.

pinksteps I am so sorry to hear your news and am thinking of you and your family

feisty I love your work. are you still using your fitbit? do you still think it is worth buying? OH and are are about to order ours (unless you say it's not worth it!)

I have OH off work with stress at the moment. although he keeps himself busy i am not used to having him around all day. although I was glad he was here to pick the boys up from school as I would never have got the car up the hill in the snow. last time he was off for 6 months so i am hoping it won't be so long this time.

Well i havent really got much to say at the moment, have been on the lemsips all day, think i have the start of a cold, i think its stress from worrying about the flipping bills at the moment, i hate not being able to pay on time but at the moment we are robbing peter to pay paul (as my nan used to say) i am ok with not having money as long as i can pay my bills but at this time of year the big ones start rolling in.

I also won't be doing valentines as I will be working first thing in the morning until rather late....plus it's a rip off. I usually make a card but I've already announced to oh that I haven't had time....that sounds bad. I only feel a bit guilty as he never buys me cards for any occasion. I actually give him the same Christmas card each year now (one that I cross stitched) as I put a lot of effort in and didn't want to throw it away!
  • Pink great big hugs :( I'm so sorry my lovely - Omo is right, we are all thinking of you xxx

Thanks Bunbun :) my fitbit is on my person at all times (except baths and showers ;)) its nice to see how active/lazy I'm being. The support on the site and the detailed records are amazing! Sadly though, I don't think it's worth the £80 tag. It's not motivating me to move my butt (although I'm suffering the winter blues so could be that). If I were to purchase again, I would uh the cheapest one and try to get a second hand one from eBay :)

Valentines disaster last night :( ocado remember previous accounts based on the ip address, we couldn't make a new one and be eligible for the £10 discount - sadly we didn't realise this until I had spent an hour doing the shop :( had to do it all again from tesco! Don't and dusted now though and we have a lovely 3 course meal to look forward to on Saturday. Mussels in white wine and garlic, steak in red wine and shallots with corn on the cob and potato dauphinoise, ultimate new York cheese cake and a bottle of lambrussco yum yum! Best thing is it didn't actually cost as any extra as we pay any money under our weekly shopping budget into a seperate account :)

I popped on to the old thread today to check something and saw so many names we don't see anymore.

Has anyone else noticed how many posters have disappeared lately.

    Weeclicks vanished, as did disabled_NCIS_fan.

I know there are more, but names elude me.

I am sure they are all fine, but I started worrying.

How silly is that. They are probably all fine, leading busy life's and just not feeling Christmassy.

Yes I noticed this too OMO, perhaps they'll all start coming back to us later in the year when it gets closer to Christmas. :snow_grin

As for Valentines day, we do 'do' it as it were, but not commercially. We don't buy each other presents, we just spend time together. For example I always cook (I love it) so I wanted to do something a bit different today, as we're going on our honeymoon to America in April I thought i'd do an American themed dinner. I made a New York cheesecake last night which is now sitting in the fridge chilling, and i'm going to make home-made burgers, fries and strawberry milkshake tonight. I bought some American flag napkins and a red check plastic tablecloth from ebay cheaply and i'm going to make it look a bit like a diner. I've printed out lots of diner-style posters for free to stick on the wall. To be honest i'm doing it more as a bit of fun!

I also printed some of those Valentines cheques from here and i've got three and my OH has got three, we're going to write our own then swap them later - should be interesting! :p

msgigglewick I hope your migrane passes soon, it sounds awful. Sending you a hug.

Thanks OMO for passing on pinksteps message. pinksteps i'm so sorry to hear of your news, thinking of you and wishing you lots of strength. xx
  • Migraine has mostly passed now, though i only had 2 hours sleep last night so feeling that.. stupid body, can i part exchange it? lol

Thinking of you pinksteps and ty omo for passing on the group message.

As for valentines we're quite slushy i guess all year round. Flowers, cakes, treats for no reason other than 'im thinking of you' though vday tends to be find the naffest card out there for each other and a lil treat.. i put a giant cupcake and dh's card, and batman usb memory thing in his work bag last night as i knew he would be up early, he's not mentioned he's found them yet though! lol Need to pop to town to get some onions and something for the girls dinner in a bit. but dh has said theres a delivery due so if thats not come by 2ish then dd1 can wait in for it lol
