wow what a fab bed! sorry to hear you are in pain. hope the painkillers work if not hope you get anti inflammatories and they work quickly. I have a wisdom tooth that occassionally gets infected and I can only just open my mouth but there is no pain otherwise so I really feel for you.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY ELJAYCOCK
:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:
THANK YOU
Sorry its so late in coming, but unfortunately was really poorly with flu on my b'dayBetter now thankfully but completely ballsed up the b'day week I had planned. Oh well theres always next year :rotfl:
Seriously I had a big party a couple of days before which was fab but then the week just went downhill.
Had a small accident in my car which means its cost me £300 to get it fixed, not in the budget. Then I thought I'd best have a look at the accounts as I hadn't looked since christmas and we seem to have over spent by £1000:eek:
When I asked hubby about it, it turns out he's booked for us to go centre parcs without kiddies in a couple of weeks for a surprise b'day present. Really nice of him as he's never arranged anything in the 18 years we've been together, but now need to make some money.
He's booked us for a moonlight spa session and my mums booked me a massage and his sis has got me vouvhers to spend there so I'm gonna have a nice time and worry about money after.
Have spent today sorting out dd's bedroom so loads of toys to sell, next go round rest of house see what else we can be shot of. I keep bearing in mind I raised £600 last year for my party so sure can do again!
Anyway have been tryjng to catch up with everyones news but not doing v well. May just have to start againg as if today!:)0 -
Hi all, just spent an hour or so catching up, sorry to hear so many people have had bad times lately, sending massive :grouphug: to all who need them."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough

Thanks everyone, all of your support is very much appreciated x
Excited for you on the prospect of moving ReformedShopaholic. Know it's stressful but can also be wonderful, if like you, you're going to be closer to loved ones. Understand what you mean about your OH's family, my OH's are the same, probably even worse - we've even had to have a conversation about how when we have kids that's not the kind of family environment we want to create. For all my family were crazy in lots of ways, there was no shortage of love and fun. Look forward to hearing more about flat/house-viewing!
Hugs for you Snugglebunny, can you spend lots of time with your neighbours before they go?
Scottishminnie - I am terrible for lusting after crockery, tableware and table linen. It no doubt has some deep psychological meaning but I actually can't walk past napkins and the like in a shop! One day I am going to move and I just know I'll not find a kitchen with as much storage space as I have now and things like my 3D reindeer cookie jar are going to seem like a really silly idea.
Pleased to hear you've had a pain-free day BBTHREE but how awful for you it's the first in so long. Fingers crossed you'll be relieved after the surgery. A friend of mine had it done recently and is in very good health now.
Thanks Peppapig, has been a long ten year battle getting my mum the support and care she needs, and even though where she is now is a million times better than some of the horrible places she has had to endure (including 11 months on a psychiatric ward because one part of the country has NO provision for younger people with dementia) I still have to battle for the smallest of things. A few weeks ago, the carers took it upon themselves to cut my mum's hair short without talking to any of us, and what a mess they made of it. It's difficult though, the organisation are really tough on staff and for the most part I don't think they pay them properly for the work they do. So I have to make my point, without getting anyone in to trouble. That said, the one who made the horrible comments the other night, also told me once, when I was explaining that it was a silly rule that the organisation don't allow us to buy gifts for staff at Christmas said to me (in all seriousness) "Well I'd take cash and not tell them." I didn't have the guts to say that if I had my way, I'd make sure she never went near my mum again! Will call the office again tomorrow, my mum's vulnerable enough as it is. If what they said in front of her on Friday is what happens when I'm there, I dread to think how they are when I'm not. You also reminded me that I need to visit our local garden centre, every year towards the end of January I always pick up the best sale items! Will have to go along this week.
OMO, how is your DS feeling?
Trendyjenny, hope you're feeling a bit brighter, how has your weekend been?
Did my usual batch cooking today - beef casserole and cauliflower mash for Monday, tomato and basil soup for Tuesday, vegetable stir-fry for Wednesday and red pepper soup for Thursday, breakfast muffins baked and a big box of salad stuff for lunches each day. OH is out on Friday so now just have to think of what I can treat myself to that night! House is still a bit of a tip, going to have to address that this week. If we don't stay on top of it it takes a good 3-4 hours to do and I just can't face that on my days off! Hosting a huge big festival at work this year so need to be as organised as possible with my time or I'll be a little heap between that and the wedding!0 -
BBTHREE-Ahhh that was nice of your hubby.
So glad your having a good aand pain free day. xxx
scottishminnie-Good luck with your napkin search! When I go in charity shops I either cant find a thing or buy too much!
ELJAYCOCK-Hope you're feeling better now? Such a shame you were ill on your birthday. Hope you have a lovly break with your hubby.
msgigglewick-I hope the pain eases soon. xx'They only had one cow!'0 -
Scottishminnie could you not have a go at making them?
Would be true MSE style and you could end up with exactly what you want.

Thank you to all that clicked through to my facebook. I really wish that I had got the store up and running weeks ago! The feedback has been amazing and I managed to sell a valentines card within the first 2 hours on etsy, be featured in a treasury the moment I put a gift bag on there and had a custom family tree order through facebook. Add to that, two orders for jewelry on my other Etsy site and I am one happy bunny! It may only be £30 profit for lots of work, but it's money I can make from home, where I'm happiestOf course sods law dictates that I would get more at home work when I've just started a long term placement
In all truthfulness, I'm ecstatic

Feisty-Your papercuts are truly lovely, will definitely be ordering one or more this year! Such good value for something so beautiful.
Well I annoyingly just made a USC order for 2 pairs of espadrilles (£2 and £1) and used a free del code. However it didnt go through properly even though it said it did so am now paying more in delivery (£3.99) than I am for the shoes that I didnt really need. And you cant cancel or amend orders on there, argh! Sorry just had to share as I do hate to fluff up a bargain and its so annoying lol!'They only had one cow!'0 -

Have you tried emailing them? I messed up an order with something once and was charged for delivery. Released a couple of hours after placing the order, contacted the website & they refunded the delivery charge for me. Was very happy with the service from them.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
