Hugs to you Caitlyn, its heartbreaking to see them like that I know xxx
ReformedShopaholic good luck with the flat hunting!
Crowdpleaser thats great news!
am trying to get a grip on myself re my neighbours moving, dont know when they will go yet but am trying hard to be happy for them rather than sad for us! I feel for my children, especially the eldest, as they have been like grandparents to them, since we lost both OH's parents within a year of each other and my mum is wrapped up in her own life and doesnt seem that interestd in ours
anyway! tried to turn my mind to happier things, we went out for some lunch and I had a quick nose round the shops, I bought a Stitch mug for myself in the Disney Store, which is very cute and made me smile
Ive organised DS a trip to Old Trafford with OH for his birthday in April with a stadium tour etc, and booked a driving experience for OH for his birthday in the summer to drive a Ferrari at one fo the race tracks
I bought a few bits from Dotcomgiftshop for DD's stocking which I think she will be really pleased with0 -
Well done snuggle bunny for trying to stay positive x hopefully new neighbour will become new friend x0

Feisty I've popped over to peep, I was on DH FB account as I don't have one. Wishing you all the luck in the world. Can't wait to see that signature break through the £17K
Aaw Caitlyn so sad to hear of your visit to your Mum:( aarrrghh people can be so insensitive . I think you'd be odd if you didn't shed a tear on your wedding day! Waterproof mascara is the answer:) Your Mum if she could and certainly your Dad would be very very proud of youxxx
Snugglebunny oh my word you are on a role go girl
Reformedshopaholic exciting times ahead. Good luck xThe secret of Christmas

Dropsofjupiter - Good job the cashier was nice and pointed that out.
Moneysavingmumofone - I was lucky at the garage, my hubby (who works nights and got in about 4am) must have heard me get up and he followed me to the garage in his car as a surprise, so was waiting outside to give me a lift back when I dropped the car off.
The hospital story isn't nice, but it was far worse some others. There was a lady there who had literally just given birth and was in the delivery suite when it happened. It was also visiting time luckily and so most of us were not on our own.
Nanamia - So glad you are having such a good time, it sounds amazing and if anyone deserves it, it's you x
Msgiggleswick - You did well with the haggling, well done on the bed.
Caitlun22 - We are here to listen and to help. You must complain if you are not comfortable with the care being given. Hugs
Feisty fidget - loving the names sugar and spice.
Crowdpleaser - Wow, I would love to pay my mortgage off but we are a long way off yet. Huge congratulations.
Fennel - Find a pillow or a cushion and either scream into it or beat the crap out of it. Whatever helps
Reformedshopaholic - hope that the flat viewing goes well
Snugglebunny8 - Snap! I bought a Disney store mug earlier, mines Animal from The Muppets.
Well today has been a good day. Without waffling too much I have ongoing stomach issues which my doctor and I are 99 per cent certain is my gallbladder and I hope it will be whipped out soon to end all this.
Today, probably for the first time in 6 months I woke up totally pain free with loads of energy. I have taken advantage of it and I have done loads of housework and washing and ironing, just because 'i can' and bizarrely I have enjoyed every single minute of it.
I am currently chilling on the recliner watching "The Princess Bride" and I am still pain freeAims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
Caitlyn your post almost made me cry - it must have been so hard for you to see your Mum not really be your Mum anymore and then to lose your Dad to. A big day like you wedding is bound to bring it all to the front of your mind so please be kind to yourself (as you always are on here to everyone else) and cry if you feel like it - tears can be good medicing.
Good for you in standing up for your Mum's dignity too - it doesn't matter if she knows what people are saying or not, she still deserves respect. Sometimes people in the 'caring' professions are so used to these things they stop seeing people as beings with feelings and just think of them as just patients, or even worse as jobs to be completed.
On the pressie front I picked up four lovely little china mugs (child size) in our local garden centre yesterday reduced to £2.49. They have lovely nostalgic children's scenes on them so I'm going to keep two here for little visitors to use and then I'm going to fill the other two with mini-eggs or similar and give them to my little grandaughter and my little god-grandaughter (she isn't really but my best friend died almost five years ago and I think of her daughter as my daughter and her little three year old as my grandaughter). I also got two lovely Christmas tree decs reduced to £1 for the two and two lovely canvas type holders with a jar of real ale chutney in them (ok til 2014 so all good there) and a wooden spoon/server thing - 75% off - reuced from £10.99 to £2 somthing so bought two - one for brother in law and one for son in law - just not sure if for extra birthday pressie or 'tree' pressie at Christmas.
Only went in for a hot chocolate while very very dirty car was being cleaned and ended up spending £23! Not sure if that was MSE or not :rotfl:It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Feisty - I am not on fb but would love to see your creations and shop..... am I correct in thinking u have another site where we can view them? Xxx0

Caitlyn, I've somehow managed to miss the initial post about your mum - just wanted to send you great big hugs. Of course your wedding day is going to bring all these feelings up for you, please remember we are here for you xxx
Nana, I thought those lovely comments were from youthey were very sweet, thank you
regarding the house saving, a few pounds seem to be going in each day so I'm actually feeling it may be impossible

I had my gallbladder removed in October. Life is sooo much nicer now. Last year was miserable for me. I didn't go to the Drs about it for a while as I thought I was just becoming intolerant to some foods, but I was getting pains more frequently and being sick with it too, so I went to see the Dr and he sent me for an ultrasound. He didn't tell me at the time that was what he suspected so I was a bit surprised when I had the scan. It was about a month later that I had the surgery and I'm so glad I did.
Happy to see that you're having a good day today. Hugs to all of you who are feeling low or having a rough time at the moment.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

moneysavingmumofone/chrissyg at least the are reducing the price of the dr who figures if they are going to be smaller
caitlin sending you big hugs. it is understandable that your wedding day will bring up lots of feelings and emotions. hope you get your mum's care sorted.
we have been car shopping today. we only went for a look but ended up buying one. it is to replace our Y reg car which OH says is on it's last legs. it is a smaller car and should save us money - cheaper tax, insurance and will use less petrol. we got the price down quite alot and also got 10 year warranty, 2 free services and a sat nav. It will be my car so hope the conditions are good tomorrow when I take the boys to school

Greetings all. Looks like quite a few are needing :grouphug: so sending them your way.
There's definitely a whole chapter since I last posted. You are such busy bees!
I've been loitering on a certain auction website. I know I shouldn't but I saw lots of really nice Christmas serverware when on holiday and was very good at not buying regardless of how reduced it was but then I thought "I wonder if there is any on........" So there may not be a lot of Christmas stuff but I did see this. I mean really - what on earth would I do with it and what a ridiculous price but for some reason I'm drawn to the damn thing so I think I'll be logging off early tonight to avoid temptation!
I have made a list in my diary of things that I would like for next Christmas, either for the home or for gifts so that if I see them throughout the year at good prices I can pick them up.
Top of my list is 6 white linen napkins. Despite a housewide search on Christmas eve the phantom napkin snatcher seems to have made off with my best (and one and only) set so I had to make do with paper serviettes. Nobody noticed but it's become a bit of a mission with me now to find some more. Perhaps a charity shop rummage would be a good idea. I just need to fine tune my will power first so I don't buy anything else!0
