Oh msgigglewick, I wish you hadn't posted about Dunelm Mill. I passed it today and for once I stayed away!!! We go on holiday tomorrow, so there will be nothing left when we get back probably :( Oh well, all the more for everyone else.

  • The thing that really blows is that it is me doing all of the saving for the house - all said and done, I can see me putting in about 80% of the savings :(

I hear you, I've been saving towards a deposit solidly for 2 years now because it is almost an obsession with me that I want to move out. My OH isn't particularly bothered either way so is saving some money every month but only because he insists we have to have a dishwasher and a new bed! :p It used to bother me quite a bit but we're so close now I don't care, I will finally move out! :D

Thanks everyone, all of your support is very much appreciated x

Excited for you on the prospect of moving ReformedShopaholic. Know it's stressful but can also be wonderful, if like you, you're going to be closer to loved ones. Understand what you mean about your OH's family, my OH's are the same, probably even worse - we've even had to have a conversation about how when we have kids that's not the kind of family environment we want to create. For all my family were crazy in lots of ways, there was no shortage of love and fun. Look forward to hearing more about flat/house-viewing!

Hugs for you Snugglebunny, can you spend lots of time with your neighbours before they go?

Scottishminnie - I am terrible for lusting after crockery, tableware and table linen. It no doubt has some deep psychological meaning but I actually can't walk past napkins and the like in a shop! One day I am going to move and I just know I'll not find a kitchen with as much storage space as I have now and things like my 3D reindeer cookie jar are going to seem like a really silly idea.

Pleased to hear you've had a pain-free day BBTHREE but how awful for you it's the first in so long. Fingers crossed you'll be relieved after the surgery. A friend of mine had it done recently and is in very good health now.

Thanks Peppapig, has been a long ten year battle getting my mum the support and care she needs, and even though where she is now is a million times better than some of the horrible places she has had to endure (including 11 months on a psychiatric ward because one part of the country has NO provision for younger people with dementia) I still have to battle for the smallest of things. A few weeks ago, the carers took it upon themselves to cut my mum's hair short without talking to any of us, and what a mess they made of it. It's difficult though, the organisation are really tough on staff and for the most part I don't think they pay them properly for the work they do. So I have to make my point, without getting anyone in to trouble. That said, the one who made the horrible comments the other night, also told me once, when I was explaining that it was a silly rule that the organisation don't allow us to buy gifts for staff at Christmas said to me (in all seriousness) "Well I'd take cash and not tell them." I didn't have the guts to say that if I had my way, I'd make sure she never went near my mum again! Will call the office again tomorrow, my mum's vulnerable enough as it is. If what they said in front of her on Friday is what happens when I'm there, I dread to think how they are when I'm not. You also reminded me that I need to visit our local garden centre, every year towards the end of January I always pick up the best sale items! Will have to go along this week.

OMO, how is your DS feeling?

Trendyjenny, hope you're feeling a bit brighter, how has your weekend been?

Did my usual batch cooking today - beef casserole and cauliflower mash for Monday, tomato and basil soup for Tuesday, vegetable stir-fry for Wednesday and red pepper soup for Thursday, breakfast muffins baked and a big box of salad stuff for lunches each day. OH is out on Friday so now just have to think of what I can treat myself to that night! House is still a bit of a tip, going to have to address that this week. If we don't stay on top of it it takes a good 3-4 hours to do and I just can't face that on my days off! Hosting a huge big festival at work this year so need to be as organised as possible with my time or I'll be a little heap between that and the wedding!

Much better and brighter thanks x :T

Hi everyone not been commenting for a while but wanted to say hope very one who was ill are feeling better and are pain free!! Sorry to hear about bills that keep popping up for people it's horrid when that happens. && hello to everyone else. Sorry I have been reading but my head has been else where so can't remember what I wanted to say now!! I can't remember who put the fb page on but I have liked it and your increadbly talanted I'm sure ill be ordering a few things throughout the year :)

Well for about a week I've been feeling very down again and not sleeping and all the other lovely things that come hand in hand with depression!! I felt it coming on though so it's not as bad as normal but still not very nice!! I have been writing down my worries and have figured out its mainly about my birthday in 2 weeks!! Basically ill be 22 in feb and feel I have nothing to show for it since leaving school!! I have as levels as I dropped out of college twice although i did get my nvq level 2 from my last job (childcare) I have had a number of different jobs each of which I've hated for one reason or another and am now living at my bf's mums with no job no ambition and just feel like crap basically!! I have decided that I am going to find a job I really like in order to gain more qualifications so I can go further into the job or onto uni I also want to start my driving lessons again and I need to keep my savings going so I can move out!! I've been saving since Xmas and have about £660 saved upto now so I know that is possible!! Tomorrow I am going to spend the day making a plan of where I want to be in give years and all the steps I need to make to get there!! Hopefully this will help me feel a bit better!! I'm also going to start doing surveys and bits to help towards Xmas and bdays so I can save more and at some point this week sort out stuff I can stick on eBay!! I think if I have a todo list everyday ill be fine as I get depressed when I don't keep busy as I have to much time to think about everything!

On a Xmas note I've made a list of what I'm getting most people just a few I have to wait till closer to Xmas to see I've also done the same for bdays :)

For my brothers birthday I'm planning on making him a craft chest! He will be 4 and loves craft stuff! When I was younger you could get a set that was 3 draws with loads of craft stuff in them but I'm not sure you can get them now so I'm going to make him one instead!! So if anyone sees any good deals on kids craft stuff would you please let me know :)
